I hve to agree, Jodha showing so much ego in front of Jalal needs to be toned dwn. But I think he is the only one she is MOST comfortable with amongst her in laws..being her husband..her comfort level would be high most with him...& it is like us women na...where we are comfy we take out our frustration n shw ego there😆

Hi! 😃

Yes usually I don't write or come to IF often only when I really feel like venting or commenting or in a good mood! 😛

Yes she is comfortable , I wrote that as well but the venting has to be in the right place where it is deserving not when some one is appreciating or admiring you.

Seems like the writers want to drag out the Jodha as the ideal personification of Rajput courage and defense of Bharat Mata, and she ends up mouthing clankers like this.

However, the previous epi where Jalal was telling the story of the bad tempered princess to the girls also had a clanker when he said, "That's the laugh of a witch." It spoiled that charming scene for me.

The difference lies in the tone and attitude. Jalal said it in a jest and that too without directing it to her but insinuating it while whatever comes from Jodha is directly targeted to Jalal and the tone, aggression and expressions...what can I say!

Whoever it is who is charge of directing, writing, camera, lighting, screenplay, dialogues...just tone down Jodha! She should be aggressive and unforgiving when it is required and necessary and not every time she opens her mouth to Jalal.

And another fact that bothers me is Jodha knows she is wrong in her attitude towards Jalal.
If she thought he deserved that or that is her normal attitude towards any body in general then she shouldn't be putting up an act in front of her parents, dadisa, or Amer relatives. In front of them she will conceal her aggression towards Jalal and try to be nice and smiling but immediately in private she will spill venom.
Sorry Princesses or Queens don't react this way specially in the 16th century.

Jalal when he was unmerciful or insulting did it in public and I am not saying he was right or he was praiseworthy for his behavior but at least he was not being two - faced. If he misbehaved or was erroneous in his judgement then he was apologetic as well in public. The only factor that bothered me about Jalal was he went to Ruqaiya for every minor and major advise or suggestions and followed it through as well.

I will have to say, no matter how grudgingly I say, it that Ruqaiya treats Jalal way way better than Jodha. At least she loves him, respects him, cares for him, advises him, understands him, keeps him happy and satiated, doesn't contradict him, is not rude with snide remarks and knows the royal manner of where and when to speak. Unfortunately our Princess has to go a long way to learn all this.

Lana 🤗

I totally get you.

Firstly, I think the girl playing the character needs to tone down a bit. All this while she has been playing this haughty princess and she has become a pro in it. In the scene with her sister too I felt that she needs to tone down.

Secondly, I agree when you say that Jodha knows how she is behaving with Jalal. Its as they say 'A woman knows!" This could be a defense mechanism trying to stop herself from falling for the man who has a "dil" inside of him. I am not trying to justify her behavior. Just saying that she might be doing it purposefully.

Thirdly, it takes time. This girl has been hating the Mughals like forever. It is only recently that she has realised that her husband has a dil. That he is sensitive, he has a sense of humour. She is just understanding him. It takes time for her to control her outbursts.

As you said she knows how to behave when others are around. She behaves as if she respects him. Its only when they are alone that she can be her true self. Give her some time. She will be alright.

And why is Jalal behaving like a hen-pecked husband? Because he is in love. He is in love with this haughty princess who has a mind of her own, who doesn't think twice to speak her mind, who is independent and is the only one among all his other begums who can say NO to him. That appeals to him. Well, men and their likings!! What can you say? 😆

The only time I would get very upset is when Jodha would take this behavior outside if front of the whole world and when she insults her Shahenshah in front of everybody. Yes, she needs to cut down her insults especially when Jalal has been all but accomodating but that is because he is seeing her in a new light. But Jodha needs to cross that line and when she does, its all going to be lovey-dovey.

Hi Ash,

I understand what you are getting at & I sincerely hope you are right in this case.

But I am prejudiced because it is a Balaji show and I am afraid they are thinking Jodha is just another Parvati, Prerna and Tulsi. I hope they realize they are dealing with a historic epic love story and they need to balance the characters. Why is it so difficult for the CV's?

The movie made Akbar really soft but Jodha's character was perfectly balanced. She had the pride, honor, respect, dignity and the personality of a princess and a queen and she carried herself perfectly but here it is always a avatar of Ma Kali!

And yes this Jalal became soft too suddenly and is falling for a spoiled brat of a princess just because she keeps rebuking him. I don't give him an open carte blanche to his atitude and behavior but at least he is trying to be understanding seeing through his faults and even is genuine when he is appreciating something but they are making Jodha rude to unthinkable extent. Today he didn't say anything insulting in a taunting manner but her last retort of 'tedi soch' was uncalled for.

And once she has endangered her husband's life without any remorse later and now again she will challenge him to put his life on the line without even a second thought. I hope the promo is wrong but the way she came across to him undermining his valor and courage challenging him...again totally unwanted.

Will watch till its lovey dovey and then I will be out as usual. To me you know the journey to love is important and interesting and intriguing but once the love is out in the open I am done! Yes sadistic of me, isn't it? 😉

And I won't be surprised if Jodha here does openly rebuke or insult Jalal. Many a times she starts of with her opinions in front of any one, Ruqaiya stopped her and even told her to learn to hold herself and learn when and where to say something, Jalal stopped her on their way to Ajmer when that man came to kill her. Being a princess she ought to know when to hold her tongue and when to open her mouth.

So for your sake will give her a benefit of doubt. She can have a grudge and hate Mughals but knowingly she married him for Amer and now she can't pass the buck all on to Jalal.

Lana,

Regarding the promo, I will wait because the promos are most of the times wrong.

I do hope Jodha does not become another Tulsi or Parvati and they keep her character intact. The day Jodha taunts and insults her husband publicly is the day I will protest and quit!

You and me are like birds of the same feather. The journey to love is what interests us. We do not like misunderstandings and unnecessary dramas. 😆 We will simply move on to another love story. 😆

Ash misunderstandings are fine provided it is valid and is pertaining to the story line but unnecessary drama is not to my palate.

And yes the 'falling in love' phase always attracts me more than being in love. And the love story which has contrast characters and feelings and nature and attitude is what appeals to me the most and once they are dancing in the same tune and is all over one another I bid adieu to the story or show.

A real mass of contradiction, am I not? 😆😉

Even I admit that I am starting to dislike Jodha a little. When she starts singing praises about Rajputs I am fine. Even I would like to boast about my own religion. But when that smug look and smile comes on her face, it irks me. It is not Jodha that time.
And she is turning like a cribbing saas in a stupid daily soap. It is as though she sees Jalal like a bahu whom she can bitch about and plot and plan. She shoots off taunts left, right and center. It is as though her mind is constantly thinking 'Ab kaise neecha deekha sakungi me Jalal ko?'
