😆..so true she needs to rethink about it! we want a dignified queen and not a spoilt bratt!!!

Shyamala, Loved reading your view.
For me , my expectations sank during the course of last week. I loved the dargaha scene.
I felt the hunting part was rushed but it was taken well too.
Everything since then seemed rushed and very in bits n pieces and felt the story wasn't flowing well. To top it all Jalal's almost confession... He seemed too profound to be lying abt falling for Jodha...
All in all it didn't sit very well. While I thought Jodha showed some remorse while talking to Rahim, the next day she was back to being cold and haughty headed when meeting Jalal
What am saying is my expectations started diminished during the course of last week as there were too many questions unanswered and I felt perhaps the creative were out on a holiday ...
So after all that, today I actually liked the Akdha scene. It was not great, but it was quite okay.
Now all the points raised by u are valid... (Jodha falling n times seemed so silly, where from did Jalal cut his hand etc etc)... But on the whole
I didn't think Jodha was too bad with Jallal.. which itself is progression... But 've decided to ignore Jodha as .I loved the flirty and mischievous Jalal! Its this Jodha that brings out that side in him😊

Thanks for posting again. My response will be in purple for the questions.

Folks,

This one is going to be -now don't start laughing already! - really short. It is more of a venting of exasperation than an analysis.

Let me therefore just put it down as a series of questions, and you can then amuse yourselves thinking up the answers. That is to say, after about 98% of you have recovered from the roseate haze induced by the boat ride, which should be by tomorrow morning. 😉The PMs can thus wait till then.

Q1) It is all very nice to educate the viewers in the complexities of Mughal-Rajput animosities, and I was duly moved by the noble sentiments in the invitation sent by the Rajmata of Amer to Maharani Jaiwantibai of Mewar. But apart from the fact that the Rajvanshis shown confabulating with Kunwar (not Rana) Pratap looked like a bunch of extras from a gangster film togged out in royal attire, there was another major problem with this segment

What about the invitation to Pratap's estranged father, the Maharana of Mewar, Udai Singh? It was to him, as the head of the Sisodias of Mewar, that the invitation would have been addressed, not to Pratap, who was not even the Yuvraj. It would have been unthinkable in terms of royal protocol.

The CVs seem to have forgotten all about Maharana Udai Singh, but when Akbar laid siege to Chttor in 1568, it was still Maharana Udai Singh who was on the throne. He moved to Udaipur, which he founded as his new capital, and left Jaimal and Patta to defend Chittor. Chittor fell after a prolonged siege, enraging Akbar so much that he had all the defenders killed and their heads stuck on the battlements, as per the charming custom of those days, whether it was Henry VIII sticking Sir Thomas More's head on the Tower of London, orAkbar doing the same with these Rajput heads at Chittor.

Udai Singh also stood firm against the Afghans first and then the Mughals, so this premature emphasis on Kunwar Pratap seems odd, to say the least.

I thought the same thing. The CVs just wanted to build the hype for the fight that is to come. Why is Jalal giving so much importance to Kuwar Pratap? He is not a Maharana yet or even a Yuvraj as of yet. Why are the kings coming to Kuwar Pratap for a war meeting? Shouldn't they be discussing that with Maharana Udai Singh? All the scenes with Kuwar Pratap were just fillers.

Q2) Why is it that Jodha is not even thinking of throwing out any of the Kabul ke zevarat ? Should they not remind her of the Devi Maa's jewellery the Mughal raiders looted from the temple? 😉

Not only does she not do that, but she does not burn the Dhaka mulmul either, inconsistent wench that she is. In fact, she seems quite in ecstasies over her Ammijaan's largesse for Sukanya.

She is no longer a princess of Amer now she is Begum of Mughal Sultanate besides the one who is preparing them is Ammijaan not haughty Mahamanga.😆

Q3) Why the Shahenshah's chief minister is shown to be such an incompetent that, with a large military contingent at hand, he suggests that his emperor go for a boat ride on a lake in hostile territory, a sitting duck for any attacker, without first securing the perimeter of the lake? In his place, having handled such visits as an Ambassador, even if it was not in hostile territory, that is the first thing I would have done.

He needs to be sacked from his job. Mahamanga would have done a better job than this no good chief minister. 😡

Q4) How many times is Jalal to cut his hand - not to speak of worse - in order to promote his shaky romance with the Amer ki Mirchi? At this rate, he will fade away from sheer blood loss😉. This is the third time, and it is getting to be so hackneyed. Can't they think of something a bit more intelligent for a change? How the devil did he cut it this time anyway? His hand was quite saaboot when he got into the boat.

It is a good thing for him that the water must have been pure in those days. If it was today, he would die of chemical poisoning, possibly from mercury,as in the Minamoto affair in Japan.

When I saw her applying water, I said to myself, "Good thing the water is pure in those times." What's with Jodha? He cuts his hand and the first thing she does is either put mud on it or water. Doesn't she know that the only way to stop bleeding is by applying pressure on it. Ofcourse he will die from blood loss. Jodha doesn't apply pressure to stop bleeding.I don't how he cut his hand, the only explanation is that it might be caused by his ghost enemy.😃

Q5) What was it with the pathetic standards of marksmanship among the tribal warriors? The arrows fell in showers, reminding one of the Yuddha Kanda in the Ramayana, and if they had been even halfway proficient, our nascent lovers should both have been reduced to pincushions. At this rate, the tribals must be starving in the jungle!😉

They were so horrible that they should read Marksmanship for Dummies.😆

Q6) How on earth does Jalal propose to save our Amer ki Mirchi? At the moment, she seemed to be in front and more exposed, for all his bravado of letting nothing happen to her. The only option would be for him to dive under the boat with her, and use the inverted boat as a shield. But then her regalia, when wet, would be heavy enough to sink them both.😉 There was no precap, so one could not make out what happen.

The whole boat ride scene was contrived in the extreme, farce with a capital F. Not that I think anyone cares!God knows how much more of this corny stuff is going to be unloaded on us in Amer. After a while, even Jalal's mischievous, dancing eyes will begin to pall; one can have too much of a good thing, especially when the object of all his badinage and flirtatiousness continues to look as if she has been attacked by a swarm of bees!

🤣 They are lucky that the tribal warriors are so horrible at marksmanship. They don't even need to duck. Taking into account their skill, it would be safe to say Jalal can just row the boat back.😊

What had me in splits was the idea of Mahaam Anga singing a lori.😉

Yea lori and her playing with them. I feel bad for them.🤣

Don't mind me, folks, I am already out of sorts seeing all my fears, voiced in my last 2 posts, about the likely graph of the Jalal-Jodha love story apparently coming true. Carry on with the joyfest over the Akdha/Parijat prem katha. I am sure Jalal will cut another limb tomorrow, and Jodha will be stabbed by the assassin the day after. Phir kya, yeh prem katha toh chalegi nahin, daudegi!

exactly!

No coochie coo Jodha and respectful jodha will bring this out in him.

So no matter how bratty she is I am just going to enjoy this. I do not want to see a polite Jodha. I want a nakchadi jodha. We have enough goodie two shoes type bahus in the TV land :)

now coming to the post, i think u have valid points there..as i have mentioned before that this is a fiction show with tinge of facts from history, and ekta might be hard working but for sure she is NOT a perfectionist..she is all there to make money jaise bhi..jo chalta hai wo dikhati hai, therefore no point in finding logic in what she does!

Mandy, I see the events of today's episode as something that would've happened before the tiger attack. Considering the raw emotions we saw from both Jodha and Jalal, I would think the show would have focused on the character progression, rather than simply feeding the TRPs. I know for a fact they could've given us proper closure, something to have tied up the attack track. The nursing promo scene would have been perfectly fine for me, they didn't even have to speak, and we could see the true emotions their eyes conveyed. It would also have satisfied the TRPs hungry individuals.

I understand that they don't want to show too much passion/love, but these superficial, cliched scenes are not the way to go either. They've pulled off scenes with perfect balance before, as lashy has mentioned: the dargah scene, the swordfight, and the aarti scene. For me, the perfect scene was Jodha saving Jalal and it frustrates me that they were not able to follow up on it.

I do hope this issue of disconnected transitioning is solved. I'm still hoping for some kind of flashback sequence, especially from Jalal. Jodha could also use a reminder of what praises she was singing of her patidev at the dargah. As for the future tracks, I hope they're handled with elegance, and not just mediocrely passed off.

I wasn't rejoicing...it was a very very ordinary episode..
Romantic episodes that were directed well were scenes like the sword fight, the Arthi scenes, the poetry scenes, the scenes at the Dargah, his rescue attempt after she tried suiciding, her rescue attempt after the tiger attack...

I personally felt that today was nowhere in the league of these scenes

As for the historical lapses, lack of bodyguards for the Emperor of the entire Sultanat and all other directorial shortcomings, 1 post might not suffice

Ekta has a goldmine in the form of Paridhi and Rajat...I really wish she knew how to use it better..😕 they're busy basking in the glory of TRPs...thats not going to last very long if they don't buck up the flow of the tracks...
We are such loyal viewers -capable of overlooking many-a-small-fault and forgiving lack of logic too many-a-time! If WE feel the pinch, then the common viewers are going to lose interest faster...

Lashy, I know you weren't rejoicing; I was simply referring to the general atmosphere of joy and celebration I was hit with when I woke up this morning. I was so excited to watch today's episode, only for my optimism to deflate.

I completely agree about the romance thing. An excellent show needs to have basic pillars of foundation, and only one pillar (romance) will not hold it up for too long. I LOVE watching JA romantic scenes. Do you remember the ones from when Jalal first came to Amer? The first time he saw Jodha, when she saw his reflection in the pond, Jalal's contemplation over her payal, the way he looked at her when she put the sword to his neck: there was so much intensity in these scenes. Not only were they romantic, but they were pretty unconventional compared to the regular desi serial trip and fall and stare scenes. Also, they uncovered aspects of the characters and helped move the story along, as with all of the scenes you mentioned. THIS is what's missing now.

After the tiger attack scene, I wasn't expecting things to be completely smoothed over between Jodha-Jalal. It's understandable if she's still wary of him. But you're right, she can't be acting like a brat now. If she wants to huff and puff, she better have a damn good reason to do it. She went overboard (almost literally) in response to Jalal's telling her to be careful when wound cleaning. She needs to calm down, learn how to compose herself, and give Jalal smart retorts that put him in his place whenever he offends her.

Thanks for posting Shymala
It was a filler and substandard episode...EK should get good directors...I didn't feel connected at all...I was not overjoyed at the romantic scenes at all...They were simply forced...Do you remember the scene when Jalal confessed his love for Jodha to Ruku...it was beautifully shot...superbly directed...It seems forget Miughal army , Jalal doesnt even have body guards...I suppose they have started showing Pratap as a build up for haldi ghati...Pratap was a great man and surely his greatness had started showing since early age and that is what they are probably focussing

I still fail to understand that when HB said Jodha should accompany Jallu in boat ride , why suddenly Jallu looked annoyed for a second?

He isn't annoyed he looks at jodha.. probably her reaction and then tells hamida that he was gonna say the same thing.

The tribals only wanted to kill the naav waala😆

Someone tell me why Jalal likes to go on boatrides in the middle of nowhere..How could that Daasi speak infront of the emperor like that.. Hamida was talking to jodha not her😆
