part 6(a)hamida and mainavati were sitting on the terrace with jodha sleeping in a cot by their side...the sun was not as harsh as most mornings,a gentle breeze was flowing bringing in the summery fragrance of flowers...jodha had been fed and promptly put to sleep...raja bharmal and shehenshah humayun had gone out of the palace for sporting activities and had taken jalal with them...bharmal's family were consciously avoiding hamida,though they had grudgingly accepted this mughal-rajvanshi relation ,yet they still had not been able to digest it,every time they would see hamida it would become a forced obligation on their part to treat her with respect as a would be relative of their family...they had seen hamida's friendship with mainavati and could make out that hamida was a good person by heart ,but nonetheless she was a mughal,the enemity could not be forgotten esp after bharmal's decision ,this was a forced relation for them and they had every intention of making all efforts to not go through with it...

ON THE TERRACE...
HB-maina,hum bahut khush hain,kal hamare bacchon ka rishta pakka ho gaya,hamara rishta aur bhi gehra ho gaya...ab bas yeh jaldi se bade ho jayein...humein toh bas intezaar hai ki kab inki shaadi hogi aur kan jodha hamare ghar aayengi.
MN-"haan hamida,hum bhi bahut prasann hain paramtu na jane kyun aaj ek ajeeb sa darr lag raha hai...aaisa prateet ho raha hai ki kuch hone wala hai...hum kuch theek nahi lag raha hamida...bas hamare bacche theek rahein,kali maa se yehi prarthna hai hamari."
HB-"kuch nahi hoga maina,kyun apna mann dkha rahi ho..allah hain hamare saath..woh sab theek karenge"
MN-"hum jantein hain hamida,parantu reh reh kar hamein shaguni bai ki bhavishyavani yaad aa rahi hai...yaad nahi unhone kahan tha ki jodha ko bahut si mushkilon ka samna karna padega...humein lagta hai ki kuch hone wala hai hamida,hum apne mann ko samjha hi nahi pa rahein hain"
before hamida could console her further a dasi comes and tells mainavati that her mother-in-law is calling her urgently...with bharmal being away the family needs to talk to mainavati about their decision ...
MN-"hamida humein jana hoga...aap jodha ko lekar hamare kaksh main ja kar aaram kar lijeye,aur kissi bhi cheez ki zaroorat hogi toh aap kissi dasi ko awaaz de dijeyega...hum thodi der main aate hain"
mainavati went to meet her MIL,and hamida took jodha in her arms and went towards mainavati's room..on the way jodha woke up a bit and began giggling looking at hamida..she started playing with hamidas necklaces..
HB-"aap uth gayi jodha beta...acchi neend aayi na hamari gudiya ko...arey aapko hamare haar ke saath khelna hai...theek hai..aap jaldi se bade ho jaeye phir toh hum aapko itne sundar zewar denge ki aap bilkul hoor pari lagengi..."
while talking to jodha,hamida did not realise that she was being followed...surprisingly there were no guards and no dasi's around either...hamida is still unaware about this and starts singing a lullaby for jodha to fall asleep again...
suddenly a hand comes around hamidas face and she starts struggling to get free...hamida is worried not only for herself but for jodha as well...she looks around but does not find even a single guard or dasi...the assailant makes hamida smell something and hamida looses her consciousness...the last thing on her mind is that jodha is now is the assailants hands and he is running away with her...
