part 2mainavati was nearing her 9th month,she was told to take total bed rest...humayun had left for agra as he had some urgent work to attend to but hamida had decided to stay back with mainavati...hamida used to tak care of mainavati like she was her own sister..from taking care of her food ,to the amount of exercises she should do ,to how much rest is required,and even taking her out once in a while..
bharmal had to leave to a neighboring rajput state to settle some dispute but he was very much relieved that hamida was there with mainavati,not that his family was not there but the care that hamida gave mainavati none of his sisters or sister-in-laws could give her,bcoz mainavati was very very close to hamida...
it was during the time when bharmal and humayun both were away that one fine morning after returning from her prayers and finishing her breakfast that mainavati suddenly felt a sharp and sudden pain around her abdominal area...she was alone in her room bcoz hamida had gone for her morning prayers...she decided to take some rest ,thinking its still early for a full fledged labour and she dint want to disturb hamida in the middle of her prayers...she clutched her stomach ,walked to her bed and lied down...her inlaws had all gone to visit a nearby temple and were due to return in the afternoon...her vaidya had also gone out for 2 days after taking her permission,she was due to return today evening,but it looked like her baby had no intention of waiting for anyone...the moment mainavati lied down she felt another stab of pain in her abdomen ...she cried out and sat upright...tears fell from her eyes,one side she knew that her daughter would be in her arms soon and on the other she was terrifed to the core,with no inlaws,no vaidya and not even her husband to support her...she caught hold of the railings of her bed and got up to walk to the entrance of her room...not being able to bear the pain any longer she fell down on the floor...

hamida had just completed her morning prayers and was about to go and eat her breakfast in mainavati's room when she heard her cries...she rushed to see mainavati sprawled on the floor and a pool of water collected near her feet,it dawned on her,her friend had gone into labour...
hamida without wasting one second called all the maids and helped mainavati onto the bed...mainavati was slowly progressing with her contraction but they were unbearable for her...she caught hold of hamidas hand and asked her to send a message to raja bharmal...
MN-hamida humein bahut darr lag raha hai,aapko chod ke hamare saath yahan koi nahi hai,na hamara parivaar ,na hamare pati,aur na hii vaidyaji...ab kaun hamare bacchi ko iss duniya main layega...

hamida called the fastest messenger of ameer and asked him to go and find out about the vaidhyaji,she was suppose to reach today,if she was anywhere close by the messenger had orders to bring her to the palace on horseback asap.
hamida went back to mainavati.mainavati was by now in an even worse condition...with each contraction her condition was worsening...hamida decided to make her a concoction that her own mother-in-law had given her to help her with the pain when she was about to give birth to jalal..hamida rushed to the kitchen and started preparing the herbal medicine..in a few minutes she completed the concoction and rushed back to maina with the medicine..she helped mainavati slowly drink up the medicine which helped her to a large extent...mainavati could feel her pain subside to some an extent...it had become bearable for her ...her labour was progressing nicely and it would take sometime for the rajkumari to enter their lives...
it was evening already...hamida had recieved news of the impending arrival of raja bharmal and her own husband that very night . the vaidhya herself had fallen really sick and was unable to travel back to ameer...the vaidhya's assistants were there to help hamida but they were still too young to carry out a full fledged labour successfully on their own let alone trying to bring a royal baby into the world..
mainavati was in the 2nd stage of her labour,her contractions coming close,every few seconds...she was fully dilated and it was not possible to wait for the vaidhyaji any longer...hamida decided to help deliever mainavati's baby herself,unfortunately even her inlaws had been delayed in coming back home,it seemed like god wanted this delievery to occur in this unusual circumstance...
hamida called for somehot water and asked mainavati to try to get into a comfortable position..

mainavati's contractions were coming close by,her cervix was fully dialated and hamida could see the head of the baby pressed against it.

the baby was halfway through now...mainavati was finding it hard to breath...the pain was killing her...she was almost unconscious...only thought of her baby barely keeping her awake.

mainavati with all her might pushed as hard as she could ..

hamida held out her hand and RAJKUMARI JODHA fell right into her hands...it was the exact moment when bharmal and humayun had also entered ameer..hamida took the scissors and cut of the placenta...she brought JODHA close to her,tears flooded her eyes...
HB-DEKHO MAINAVATI,AAPKI BETI ISS DUNIYA MAIN AA GAYI HAI...
she brought jodha close to mainavati and kept her next to her mother...mainavati could not hold back..she held jodha in her hands and cried her heart out...
MN-MAHRI BACCHI,MAHRI JODHA...she kissed jodha all over her face...
hamida then took jodha to be cleaned up and asked the assistants to help clean up mainavati also...after some time jodha was again placed next to her mother who just couldnt stop looking at her...
MN-mahri bacchi kitni sundar hai na hamida...iski ankhein toh dekho...hirni jaisi hain...

just then the santri announced the arrival of raja bharmal and shehenshah humayun.mainavati and hamidas happiness knew no bounds...bharmal and humayun had coming rushing back after learning about mainavatis labour...both entered the room together...all the servants were dispersed ...humayun went straight to hamida but bharmal was rooted to the spot...there in his wifes hand was his little bundle of joy...bharmal moved slowly and came to mainavati...his eyes were clouded with unshed tears...he held out his hand and touched a small little finger...mainavati put jodha into his outstretched hands...bharmal couldnt say anything for a few minutes...he was looking at jodha with so much concentration as if examining each and every feature so that it would be etched into his memory forever...after some time...

in the happiness of the new baby,humayun had also forgotten that he had gotten jalal with him ,bcoz jalal wanted to be with him ammijaan and humayun thought that it would be good if jalal met jodha also...
