It was not long before that Jodha got preoccupied with the wedding celebrations of her sister Sukanya..this time not to Ratansingh but to another Raja of a small state.

It was during the preparations that Jodha got the news that Jalal is coming to Amer...but for what? For the wedding?

Part 3

He is here...but why? Has he not insulted my family enough? What more does he want from us? Jodha couldn't resist herself from thinking about Jalal's arrival at Amer.

Raja Bharmal though he still had not forgiven Jalal for blaming his family, thought as a king and to an extent still a father-in-law, him and his family will still welcome Jalal, afterall this is his first official visit to Amer. He had informed all the family members to behave properly and not to create any scenes. He still had a little hope that his daughter, should go back to her sasural. Afterall, which father will want his married daughter to stay in her maternal home.

Jodha has decided that come what may, she is not obliged to make Jalal feel welcomed in Amer, especially since what he has been done. When the drums started beating, indicating the arrival of the shehenshah, she quietly escaped the main hall, and decided to get some fresh air and to avoid seeing him.

Meanwhile, Jalal was excited to finally see his begum Jodha. He was having butterflies in his stomach, like a teenager meeting his first love. Gosh, the matters of heart are really hard to understand, thought Jalal, as he was accompanied by Raja Bharmal to the main entrance of the palace.

Before he entered the palace, Jalal had requested Raja Bharmal and Mainavati, as he wanted to speak with them. He spoke with Raja Bharmal and Mainavati and apologized to them about the grave mistake he has committed and asked them to forgive him. He informed them that the purpose of his visit was to take Jodha back, if they allow and Jodha agrees. Mainvati, thinking about the foretelling of Shagunibai, was assured that Jodha's future was afterall a bright one.

The doors of the palace opened and Jalal was hoping to catch a glimpse of Jodha. But as luck would have it he couldn't figure out who was Jodha. All the women present in the entrance had ghoonghat and he couldn't not identify Jodha. His mother-in-law, started doing his aarti and welcomed him to Amer. He was touched that after everything, there is still hope to take Jodha back as her family has been welcoming.

Startled from his thoughts, his mother-in-law asked him, that as per traditions he has to find his wife from the crowd, and then only he will be able to see her or be with her today otherwise, it will be a day spent with the elderly. He heard some giggles from the crowd but nothing sounded like Jodha. His mother-in-law made way for him to start the game, and he tried to approach a couple of them but none of them felt like Jodha... His Jodha...

Suddenly, he saw a reflection of a woman standing on the terrace, in a water containing vessel. He smiled and asked his mother-in-law, if she is sure that Jodha is here?

His mother-in-law, giving a questioning look, asked him what was he implying?

He showed them the reflection and said how can he find his Jodha, when she is not here. He knew she was not here, but it seems like destiny wants them to be together today after all, as he was able to see her reflection.

Requesting everyone to quiet down, he asked them not to make a commotion and he will himself go and meet her, if you allow me too?

Raja Bharmal allowed him to proceed, but only on one condition, that you will never break my daughter's heart again. Jalal, understanding the emotion replied, I will never break your daughter's heart, because before that I will have to break my heart.

With that Jalal proceeded to surprise Jodha...God how will she react, he thought...
