As far as Jalal reaction's goes after Jodha hold his hand - he went through a range of mood swings 😆 within split of seconds - first he was shocked that anyone has the audacity to touch his hand to stop him, 😲 then amused that the lady who used to be repulsed by his mere presence is actually holding his hand 😉 and then mood changes to be naughty 😎 by pulling Jodha close to him which he knew would make Jodha uncomfortable and while he gazes at her beauty 😈 delivered his words in her ears! Ab aisa mauka chorna toh bewkoofi hota ... and Jalu baby is not a bewkoof! 😃

^^Jalal is so unpredictable.

The promo was so misleading.. they cut short the entire scene and it looked like something else.

Firstly, Maham and Jodha ... That is indeed true...Maham was OTT in that scene and to add to it..Jodha too was being portrayed as the TOO helpless lady. It was more of a evil saas and bechaari bahu convo...! But to me, Jodha answering back to Maham in yesterdays episode was a bit of saving grace. Maybe they wanted to show Jodha wasn't in a state of thinking of reciprocating to what Maham was blabbering...but it all became too heavy...Maham could hv been more classy while talking and the scene could hv been balanced.

I wont say much on Ruqaiya...coz she too has no self respect left in her...she is just an irritating boss of the harem now...tht too unworthy of it! She is more of Bakwaas than being Khaas now!

Secondly regarding the hand holding scene...I agree that there wasn't romance...and there is actually no romance between JA as they are still not in LOUVE...but Jodha stopping Jalal with the authority was more of her portrayal of the right she carries as a begum and with that farman..Incase Jalal had rejected tht farman...Jodha would have sat and argued with him definitely...But his acceptance dint need that. The farman tearing was more of a closing the deal and this farman is utilized type thing...Jodha holding him back was for the verbal confirmation she awaited from him!

Thridly, no way Jalal getting down to the roots of the moti adham case would hv been worth it...Its Jodhas responsibility...She is suppose to figure out why her friend has been insulted to this level..and put the truth across Jalal. The issue here is...will this ever be solved...Will Jodha decide to divulge further into the matter ...or will the makers just let it go. I am actually looking forward to seeing complete tracks rather than the ones we are being shown...there needs to be an end to this moti adham thing...maybe not so early...but soon...probably..once adham comes back he again tries to do the same and is caught..!

Lastly...The sword fight...I dunno but I am still unable to compare it to the one in the movie. The one in the movie was in a complete different scenario...and its absolutely different in the show. Yes maybe the placement is very off ...but then again...i don't see wht other preps they could have shown before Jodha strted practicing it. And this had to cum in soon..Jodha is married and is gonna stay there forever...She is gonna practice it regularly to remain a pro at it...And Jalal had to witness it. Its while staying together they are gonna realize what the other is capabale of anf this was one of it.

Loved your post! 👏

But the reason Jodha's sword fighting looked quiet random because -

a) A queen practicing with sword would be very unusual incident in royal families, unless and until the queen herself takes part in the battles and need regular practice. Jodha is not the queen who would participate in the battle. Even as a princess, she was not allowed to go to the battle-field even though she asked her brothers to allow her.

So why was Jodha practicing?

b) If we assume that Jodha knew sword fight and wanted to practice it so as not to forget the skill, doing it right in the Agra palace seemed quiet weird.

In the film, Jodha was practicing her skill in Amber.

c) Even if we forget everything and just look at the fight sequence, then why did Jodha attack Jalal? 😕 He was not threatening her or stopping her ! But out of the blue, as if to show how good she is, Jodha made the first move and attacked her husband! In the film, Jalal challenged her and that's why the fight happened.

I totally don't care if the sword-fight scene was random. I wish they give us one sword-fight scene every episode. 😆 Sorry, too dazed here, as you can see. And I thought the Maham -Jodha face-off was quite epic last night. It effectively brought out the quiet dignity of Jodha, and the stark contrast between her and Maham.

Lets not even talk about Ruqaiyaa. She is so perfectly pointless. 😆 She does make me laugh though. Every villain in the show has strangely transformed into comic reliefs. Be it Adham, or Ruqaiyaa. 😆 I literally cannot stop laughing when Ruqaiyaa laughs at her own stupid jokes. She is hilarious.

The week was quite a disappointment, but I am very glad that they decided to wrap the Moti track up without any prolonged drama. As far, the show has been quite drama-free. I would not lie, even I thought that there will some ridiculous and dragged drama about how Jalal comes to know the truth about Moti. Which would have been stupid. Why the heck will a king of his stature spend his time thinking about a servant? if anything, it was more realistic when he decided to let go of Moti, without further inquiry. It was only a win-win situation for him when Jodha decided to use the farmaan, he was at once relieved of any unpleasant roles he had to play in punishing Moti.
Now, I loved your analysis as always, Ma'am. You are lovely. ❤️ And loved the title. Duel of wills it is.

Fantastic post once again Shyamala...

The episode was good...and Jodha properly humbled ,both by Jalal and Maham...

Jalal is one who never misses a chance...hence he caught hold of her but I see no romantic involvement from his side...All i see is desire and I think Maham and Ruku are right when they say that if Jalal got her even once ,he will forget her soon...The relationship is at that stage...right now..

I wish Jodha has stood up to Maham first time ever...now she cant stop her and I fear she will turn out to be typical Ekta heroine who take all kinds of shit from their MIL.

Yes during sword fight scene Jalal is looking for an opening from her and he is deliberately being sensuous...

My guess is out of these two Jodha will fall in love first and realise it and probably confess it too...I dread this scenario for her sake...For it is a battle between Jalal's ego and Jodha's pride.

Jodha is not the queen who would participate in the battle. Even as a princess, she was not allowed to go to the battle-field even though she asked her brothers to allow her.

So why was Jodha practicing?

That is bcoz Jodha isnt any ordinary rajputian princess ... she learnt the skill and has always wanted to be confident and independent. Well in the movie too...i think jodha accompanies him to the battlefield...doesnt fight..but i guess she is there...right? So there is no harm in knowing and being well skilled!

b) If we assume that Jodha knew sword fight and wanted to practice it so as not to forget the skill, doing it right in the Agra palace seemed quiet weird.

In the film, Jodha was practicing her skill in Amber.

There again...thats what i meant...this is one of the variation. The fight in the movie was more aggressively romantic. Here it was more of proving I m no less than u Mr. Jalal..!
Well..the fight happening in Agra seems more realistic ...since Jodha is gonna be staying here forever...and why should she drop off her practice just coz she is a begum.

c) Even if we forget everything and just look at the fight sequence, then why did Jodha attack Jalal? 😕 He was not threatening her or stopping her ! But out of the blue, as if to show how good she is, Jodha made the first move and attacked her husband! In the film, Jalal challenged her and that's why the fight happened.

Again i wouldnt want to compare it to the movie since its different scenarios...BUT why Jodha attacked Jalal is beyond me too...😆 Thats why i said...it looked like she wanted to prove to him...tht dont think so high of urself...u havent met ME...!
this is one of those parts that was indeed off!

Hello my dear aunty 🤗

Aptly analysed, as always.

This episode was purely a visual treat for us, the AkDha lovers. However, after one comes out of the daze, all your points start to make sense 😆

Maaham Anga really thinks little to nothing of Jodha. I would be convinced if she doesn't regard her as his begum even. This crone is oozing with overconfidence because Jalal considers her his Badi Ammi. Soon the importance of that title will fall in doubt with just one accusation proven valid. I can't wait to see her face then 😡

Poor Ruqaiya...no, not anymore, isn't interested in Jalal's welfare. She thrives on her supremacy in the harem..only caring for Ruqaiya and no one else, not even her Shauhar. She knows she can't afford to fall from Jalal's good grace, because that's her ticket to rule over others in the harem. She's an empress after all. So, she has to rule!

Fencing scene - Ahem Ahem! I sense a hriday vs dimaag lecture coming up on Monday. She will say I think from my heart and so thought apt to save Moti because I love her and prem toh hriday se hi hota hai, jo aapke paas nahi hai. Jalal will obviously scoff at her and concoct a dil-dimaag duel 😉 to prove her wrong! we, obviously, know who will win😆

Sword fight scenes were well-planned and placed. Both the actors fulfilled our wishes one hundred percent👍🏼

P.S. I have come out of silence and I know you are happy 😛❤️

it's really a commendable one,not because you've summed up all the crucial points so synchronically in your one post but also you've taken this much effort with a infectious eye..
yes yesterday I also was not ready to witness a fencing between the leads.. but as I have come across with so many posts,I've seen elsewhere that people taking it this way as jalal practicise sword everyday whatever be the situation and we saw it before that he never skip his practice when he was in sambar even in his wedding phase. And we can assume now that almost more than 2 weeks have been passed since jodha stepped in agra,so now she is getting accustomed with agra and also trying to get back to her old daily routine. Hence she was also practicing sword and by that time jalal came and saw her. This explanation has gone with me very well. And aunty I didn't see any guard arround the place where they were fencing. So perhaps it was some innermost place of agra fort where royal guards were not allowed..:-)

Ruqaiyaa and her villainous smile are getting on my nerves.. I wished to get rid of hamida's whinning homilies, seems now god has listened to me but on the other hand filled the void with Ruqu..
appling Physics no place can remain void in earth..

Maham anga, another one, confuses me,sometime she behaves so witty, sly, sometine very dull as she has no clue how to behave with a royal lady.. I think she still now not aware of the fact that how much there be ego clash between jalal and jodha, but Jalal will never allow MA to disrespect Jodha..

Hi Shyamala,

What an awsome episode - the chemistry was unbelieavble and the Jodha - Akbar scenes had me hyperventilating the whole time. But like you said, a cold splash of water and a reminder that i do live in the real world and and i was almost (but not quite) able to wipe that stupid grin off my face and shoo off those fuzzy thoughts off my brain and concentrate on the work at hand. What a difficult job that was. But alas, the romance of the yester-years and the stories of strong kings and equally proud princesses do tend to have that kind of an effect on us.

Now coming to the actual episode - i agree with you on most points, but on the following two, i respectfully disagree:

1) Maham does have the gall to address Jodha thus. It isnt related to how she perceives Jodha's importance in shehenshah's mind to be, but is more related to her arrogance in her own abilities to manipulate and twist Jalal to her way of thinking. She feels, and sometimes rightly so, that no-one is above and her word is the law, right after shehenshah. That is the kind of political influence she wields. And although she does realise that there is something about Jodha that is threatening and worrisome, much more than ruqaiya does, she is still too high in her self created pedestal, for her to doubt or fear anything that Jodha could have up her sleave. And therefore, she is that free with her words and her thoughts in front of Jodha... free enough to even be slightly disrespectful towards her.

What struck me more, was that even in the throes of her anger, she cannot or does not give the true reason for her anger to Jodha. Maybe, she herself at some level hasnt realised it. It isnt that Jodha was able to free motibai from death, it isnt even that her carefully cultivated story might blow up once adham comes back - No. What angers her more is that, even armed with the shahi farmaan, not many would have managed to change Jalal's decision or his sense of justice, the way Jodha did. She senses the kind of hold that Jodha has on Jalal, the stregth of the attraction that lurkes just underneath the surface, and hence her counter attack is exactly the opposite of what she truly feels. She wants to shake Jodha's confidance, intimidate her and to some extent justify what is happening to herself by reducing Jodha to a mere piece of cloth, that while new will desiarable but soon will fade. It is her own fear, that it isnt so, that makes her say the very opposite words.

Dont think she would have wasted, or been this rattled, if the begum in question was anyone except Jodha. She reads the other begums including ruqaiya, knows what they want, desire and fear easily, and hence is able to predict them and thus weild her power over them, while with Jodha, she is clueless and hence, out of her element.

I am quite intrigued with this charcater of mahamanga for the formidable opponent she is soon going to prove to be.

Far more than the current ruqaiya for sure.

I donot think Jodha, in any way, allowed her pride to fall in front of Maham. She may not have cursed Maham out of the room, and she may have gotten up when Maham came to meet her, but that is just part of the decorum that she follows. You will never see her screaming or shouting, never see her fall to the level of actually asking someone out of her room (except jalal), before she completeley hears them out. The first stone has to always be from the other side, and she will, ably reply. I quite like her responses and the hidden entendres that Jodha gave to maham. Without saying much, she put maham in her place and provoked maham into the kind of frenzy, we havent seen in her till date.

2)

to be edited soon ---

phewww!! i finally got the chance to complete my post. 😲

So here is the rest of it -

2) I absolutely agree with you regarding the thoughts going through Jalal and Jodha's mind during that staring contest of about 6 minutes or so... Yes, Jalal is trying to find an opening to the person that Jodha is. Ofcourse, he thinks its only so that he could use it against her, but really, that is such a load of bull crap. He is totally intrigued by her on a much more personal level. He wants to unlock the mystery that is Jodha. He wants to find out why he reacts to her so differently than the rest, even ruqaiya. And he admires her courage and her beauty and her zest for life every step of the way. Gosh, i am analysing so much.. i really should get a life, shouldnyt i?? About Jodha, she is really trying hard to block jalal out of the opening he desires. And she is kind if lost, both at it and for him. Oh, i love those two and the story that is unfolding...

For me, the swordfight didnt seem so out of place. Isnt it possible that Jodha was just truly practising and Jalal just happened to be upon her? She, after all, quite prides herself on haing remarkable swordmanship skills and even in amber, was always practising to hone those skills. But what transpired later was so remarkable. Both were out to draw blood, and the fight was different in its elemnt than the one in the movie Jodha-akbar where it was light and flirtatious. It seemed to depict their current state of minds. The one up-manship and their skills were both amazing. The underlying conversation that they had was amazing too. For me, the story is developing quite nicely and i am so totally in love with it.

I read the Farmaan incident the following way - "She grabbed his hand in the almost desperate way because she so no other way to save her motibai. It was involuntary and a surprise to herself that she would go so far as to actually plead with him for something, but she realized in that very moment that the reason she did so is that now, she accepts him to have the humanly emotions like compassion that would allow him to recognise the pleading in her voice and respond it, while previously she would never attribute to the fact that he infact, is also human and allows for such weaknesses. For her part, the moment Jalal made her realize what she had inadvertently done, she shies away and loses her hold on that hand. The expressions paridhi emotes in that one moment are so amazing in conveying to us that very thing, and Rajat too, for that matter. Jalal doesnt allow her to shy away in his particularly bold fashion and pulls her towards him to make her realise all the more just how close she has come, even without wanting it. This silent battle between them is what made the scene click for me."

Joke of the day - Lol that made me laugh. Truly, they are butchering the Ruqaiya character left, right and centre and making her out to be a regular TV vamp.

Loved your analysis as per usual.

Lots of love,

Shal.
