My dear,

I am so happy you surfaced at long last, thanks probably to my lavish ode to Rajat's Jalal yesterday! Thank you for liking this post so much, and for actually wanting it to be long!

Yes, I too think this is an exceptionally interesting and substantive forum; I have quit 3 already when they turned into mindless fan clubs, but I am confident that this one will not go that way, thanks to the nature of its members.

I am pleased that you are here, and i would be even happier if you came up with comments frequently and joined in the fun!

My dear Ameilia,

Thank you so much for such warm words!

Yes, you are absolutely right about that one. I have never praised any actor so much, except perhaps Mohit Raina for his Jalandhar segment in DKD Mahadev, which was superlative too, in its own way. He is also a master of facial nuance, but he is a much older and more mature actor, whereas Rajat is very young, like an eager, restless thoroughbred. But what amazes me is his tehraav, the control he brings to his scenes even at such a young age.

All that I have written about him, Rajat deserves it and more. Do take a look at my response above to Mansi, for some supplementary praise that will gladden your heart!

If Rajat is lucky enough to get such roles in the future too - and they are very rare for male actors in TV - he will sent new benchmarks every time.

I agree with all your comments, except that if CK had broached this idea to Bharmal earlier, it would have died on the spot. It needed to be launched just the way it was, in a situation of extreme pressure from Jalal, for Bharmal to be convinced, even if only after a superb sales talk from CK, that he really has no other way to save Amer and his subjects from utter ruin. In fact,Jalal and CK play it like two seasoned artistes, so smoothly dovetailing their lines and their reactions, that I still half suspect that it was all a pre-planned affair.

Shyamala Aunty I just love all your posts⭐️👏.

I have read many of your posts from different forums but never heard you praise anyone as you praised Rajat Tokas and the character Jalal today. Its a first for me.😆
I absolutely loved the encounter between Jalal and Bharmal. It was like they were playing a game of chess.Jalal in black,Bharmal in white with CK as a black warrior at Bharmal's side but that doesnt change the fact that he is a black warrior.Whether he is just a pawn of Jalal playing Bharmal is yet to be seen but that smirk that Jalal gave him when he brought up Jodha's rishta has left some doubts in my mind.I mean why hasnt CK brought this up with Bharmal before going to Jalal? Was he and Jalal just simply planning to corner Bharmal with no room to run??I mean marriage between a Rajput and a Mughal is not some everyday affair.Didnt CK think about talking to Bharmal once before he propose an alternative.Bharmal could have atleast been prepared. He was there to negotiate but never thought he had to give his daughter up for his kingdom and sons.
One can say Jalal is a negotiable and fair Emperor but he played Bharmal like a piano and it barely looked like he lifted a finger.Jalal's tranquil gaze as he listens to Bharmal's list of complains. You didnt go to some judge Bharmal u came to the Emperor but Jalal remained calm. His expressions were unreadable.Bharmal was backed into a corner. His outraged at CK's proposition change tides for Jalal. That smirk disappeared and Jalal looked dangerous. He didnt need to lift his sword but that look he gave Bharmal and his dialogues iI have already conquered Amer so everything in it is mine.He can make anyone a part of his harem.I am sure Bharmal probably pissed his pants right there but Mainvati probably wrapped him good with pampers😆 so no proof for us.
Jalal ia an excellent player. The way he played Bharmal with his tactics. That outraged Bharmal was now helpless.Jalal give Bharmal the ball in his court but slowly and slowly Jalal outnumbered Bharmal. The alliance was on and Jalal got what he wanted even thought he made sure no one has any iota of doubt in his other intentions.Well played Jalal and now Bharmal left with his head high as a King but as a father i know he must be broken at the decision he had to make. Then Jalal made sure his efforts of attaining Jodha would not go to waste. She wont be able to run or commit suicide now.His father has given her hands to Jalal and now Jalal has happily taken that hand but has no idea about the new journey he is about to embark on.The last scene highlighted the difference of two hearts, two worlds, two lives coming together as one for the greater good.Hold on to your horses we are in for a bumpy ride everyone!
I havent watched the episode with English subtitles yet so since u have praised the episode so much i will be sure not to miss it.

Excellent post Ma'am. The last episode was truly praiseworthy and I am so glad to see you make a wonderful post on it. Your posts are like chocolates. I just can't get enough. 😆 And I completely agree with the part where you claim Rajat was truly backed by the CVS last night. For me, honestly, this was the first time where the CVs allowed the talented guy to explore and outdo himself.

I was also thinking about this also but it should be other way around bec if it ws not preplanned which it looked like as jalal said to CK after so long we r meeting which was looking genuine. CK took Bharmal to reqest his emperor for some relief from sharfudin he ddnt knw the past grudges jalal has for bharmal so if he waited to discuss this proposal to bharmal it will be too late as if once emperor excuse them without granted their appeal it was really difficult to talk again on same topic and if he talk to bharmal before which I think CK himself didn't know he was going to do this ... Bharmal didn't agree as you mentioned ... so as/if this was not preplanned CK made a dare move to suggest marriage alliance all of sudden to shahanshah infront of darbar...before asking his take ...

What a fitting title for an exemplary episode! Rajat, oh dear, we need a paen for his total transformation into the character. In these times where six pack sporting, six.foot good lookers get all the coverage, sometimes not so deservingly- Im just so glad this role has come to him. It was really sad to read about his out of work days of depression. Hopefully, JA goes on for a long, long time because I get the feeling that even on those days when the CVs botch up, Rajat will make it worth our while 😊 As always, Aunty, you make it totally worthwhile on the JA forum.

Sara my dear,

How sweet of you, how very sweet! Thank you so very much.

Yes, this episode was quite exceptional, in the scripting, and in the direction, but it was Rajat pulling out all the stops that raised the marks to 9.5. I am a stern critic, and at my age, I am no one's fan,but he quite took my breath away.

Well, as for Bharmal, he is a pompous fool, so what more can one expect of him? As for the Rajvansh, he says that, I think, because royal families all over India prized that royal blood, even more than their regional identities. They used to intermarry with other royal families from one end of the country to the other. So, in a crunch situation, he thinks first of his royal identity. One can be a Rajput and still not be a royal, but Bharmal is thinking and talking only of the royalty angle.,

Dear aunty... what could I say.👏 .. after your every post its like you are reading my mind my heart... and I am reading my own thoughts😆you cover every thing you have an art to make special any boring epi and this was one of the interesting epi ... your marks are just fabulous... did u notice they r not using word Rajput n rajputana . instead of this Rajwansh and Rajghgharana..is looking funny rajwansho ki izat ...sare raj gharano mae hamara sar jhuk jaiga,,, looking very odd...
..
what to say abt Bharmal ...agra k sultan ... wao... I think he shuld work on geography to know still how big is Mughal empire 😲 ...its like he wanted to say tht I m amer ka raja just like you r king of Agra..😆. he didn't even give simple good bye salam both of time while leaving... and infront of conqueror of your state a Big "BUs" he is raja himself. doesn't he know the etiquettes of Darbar and even said insulting words for Mughals infront of emperor... so stupidity atleast for me... if he told these words to CK alone it was 0k bec he is frustrated yet CK is his friends but big BUS , shout n ...this maryada todna ...infront of Mughal Emperor is so ridiculous even he dared to look at shahnshah while saying these words
"Maryada todhna aap muglon ki aadat hae...hum mae aur mughlo mae koi sambhand nhi ho sakta" lols ...Jalal can arrest him on his words ... yes he will free him later with his sons but he can humiliate him for his big mouth for sure and infact he did. jalal said "shayad inhe is baat ka ehsas ho gaya he k yah 1 raja nhi rahe" some may feel pity for bharmal but truth is he didn't behaved that he is infront of emperor nd Insling his own clan

And you, my dear Jenny, make my sitting up, in my advancing years and with a wonky left wrist😉, typing away till past 2 am. worthwhile. You really do. Thank you for being such a morale booster!

You know, you are the first person to have commented on the title. I was a Star Wars fan in the old day, and in fact I still am, and so I thought of the title first before t began the post. I am so, so glad that you felt the same as I did about it!

Yes, Rajat is very lucky to have got this dream role, for there is normally next to nothing of substance for male actors in TV. Ekta is also very lucky, and very astute, to have got him, for without him JA would have been a flop from day 1.

It is sad that he was so depressed for years when he was out of work, but he has to remember that he was very young then, and is still young today by any standards. The transition from boyhood roles to full fledged male lead roles is extremely difficult in films, and I suppose in TV as well. In a way it is good he had this gap, to complete his studies and start out with a fresh image as a full grown young man.

He started exceptionally early as the young Prithviraj (which I have not seen, nor anything else of his) -Hrithik was 27 when KNPH was released, and he had a producer-director for father. All the major film actors today, even those from film families, started later than the age Rajat is now.

So he has no reason to despair, but he must look out for a transition to sensible cinema that will use him properly. He will not fit in with standard boy meets girl romances. Luckily, there are a lot of sensible and innovative directors around these days in Bollywood, and I am sure Rajat will be noticed and picked up soon, thanks to Jodha Akbar.
