But it is a fact that in a TV serial, Rajat will have the space to develop his Akbar and lend this harder, more muscular, so to speak, version many more nuances than there was time for in a 3 hour 20 minute film. Plus he has the intelligence and the fingertip feel for the character, which makes a huge difference. See the way he sits, hand in chin, as Bharmal rants about Mughal perfidy, his eyes downcast and yet gleaming with mounting anger. But when he rises, the face and the voice are so even and bland that the harsh content of his words come as an even greater shock. It is the same when he swivels around to look at Bharmal when the latter shouts Bas!! Superb renditions, both of them.
I am all anticipation, and I am sure he will not disappoint me.

Aunty, true that Ekta has been fortunate to cast Rajat for this role. You're right that since he still is so young, he is at liberty to mould his career with a lot more risk taking; given that he isn't going to fit those typical toy boy roles. I guess Im just relieved Ekta didn't make the mistake of casting a Hrithik Roshan wannabe. I personally thought Hrithik was a misfit in the role of Akbar, much as I admire his acting (and obviously drool over his good looks).Too much of a Greek god, less of Mughal emperor there !
