Rose, do see my response to Mansi about this particular post, with a different take on all this; it is above on this thread. Of course Bharmal remains the King of Amer.

But Bhairmal is somehow still the king of Amer..isn't he?

I am of the same mind as you regarding the POSSIBILITY of a conspiracy being there between Jalal-Sharifuddin-Chugtai to "get Bharmal into a corner regarding Jodha". Those same kind of thoughts occurred to me too, whether Jalal must have been behind Sharifuddin's decisions to put the money squeeze on Bharmal and the decision not to execute the sons of Bharmal.
Eventually I decided in my own mind that Jalal may not have been in on any conspiracy, but these thoughts did perhaps most definitely strike Sharifuddin himself - who then decided to play the games that he did with Bharmal.
See, I felt that there must be some reason for that scene we had long ago when Sharifuddin asks Jalal where he went missing for three days, and Jalal admits he went to Amer to see the place and the famous Rajkumari Jodha (for whom he openly betrayed a special feeling).
Even when Sharifuddin later is approached by Sujamal to fight against Amer, Sharifuddin is seen to be clearly remembering his talks with Jalal, and he is shown as thrilled with the opportunity to "please Jalal" in order to lobby for a higher position at court for himself after Bairam's death.
Thus it could well be that Sharifuddin decided that Bharmal should be squeezed monetarily and his sons not put to the knife, so that Jalal may have the best chances of getting both Amer and its grand girl!
Okay, there is one more issue that strikes me here, and that is the possible changing dynamics between Sharifuddin and Bharmal - leading to the possibility of bad blood between Sharifuddin and Jalal as well. Sharifuddin may well have thought that Jalal will grab Amer and "decamp" with Jodha and not exactly marry her. By agreeing to marry Jodha, and to not grab Amer, Jalal has done two things Sharifuddin would hate him for:
1. He has reduced the success of the Amer war - and Sharifuddin - by disclaiming Amer and letting Bharmal continue to rule, and he has satisfied himself with just one wife in return. And all that he is giving Sharifuddin also is one wife of his own (Bakshi Bano, who hardly looks like a prize) and nothing more.
2. Jalal has now put Bharmal far above Sharifuddin - he is the Sasurji that Jalal will now likely respect as a demi-father-figure for himself, and Jalal may well give Bharmal all kinds of gloating and ordering rights over Sharifuddin.
So in a way, Sharifuddin is left looking at the debris of his Amer war and discovering that he himself has not got as much from it as he wanted, and if anything, he has even less than he started out with.

Seige'.. a military tactic where you bleed the enemy dry by surrounding their fortress ( Credit : tanthya)... found this answer for my question in some other place, thought of sharing as an info...

Yes, Riyya, that is exactly what a siege is.

But it was not always a cakewalk for the besieging army. They had to stay out in the open for months at a stretch, in rain and sun, and at times they were attacked from behind by those supporting the besieged garrison. They also suffered deaths and serious injuries when they try to climb the walls of the fortress and have stones and even boiling oil poured on them by the defenders. The defenders also shot at the besieging army thru narrow slits in the battlements, being themselves out of sight and thus safe from counterattack.

The temper of the besieging army's commander and the frustration of his soldiers thus rose in direct proportion to the length of the siege. So much so that when the fort was finally taken, often all discipline was thrown to the wind and there was general pillage and looting and slaughter and assaults on the women. No wonder the Rajput ladies committed jauhar.

Even the otherwise restrained Akbar could be brutal at times. As I wrote above, when he took Chittor after a prolonged siege in 1568, long after he married Jodha, he had all the defenders killed, and set up their heads all along the ramparts (a charming practice adopted worldwide in those days; King Henry VIII of England had Sir Thomas More's head up on Tower Bridge for a month) as a warning to other kingdoms not to try his patience too far. Maybe it worked, for Ranthambore apparently surrendered in just 2 months.

Another magical post Shyamala.👏
I also feel Jalal is behind Shirfu's Amer victory...If it was not so then Mughal army would have already invaded Amer and Jodha would have commited Jouhar.
Again Shirfu would have not kept Jodha's brother alive if it was not Jalal's idea..He is still keeping hope alive for Rajput side.
This is my gues...The exact truth is known only to Ekta.

Loved this post. Jalaal was truly on fire in this week's episodes. loved Jalaal and Adham Khan confrontation scene; then 'Rajat-Chetna" are my fav hero-villain jodi from PRC days. I'd like more of their scenes together.

Jodha, I like her when she offers her prayers to God or when she told her father to think first as a King then as a Father. n I could not help but think will she actually understand the impact of her words, and understand her father when he will fix her marriage with Jalaal! 😉

Mahaam Anga, truly a clever lady, never misses one chance to use her position. 😆 truly a desperate one too!

n not to mention I am sooo looking forward to Jalaal-Jodha marriage ceremonies, their confrontations and their marriage. 😃 😊😛

Aunty your post is always a treat for readers, I for always loved your take on this episode too. Your analysis makes me to imagine beyond the scene. Nothing to say much as everyone already said everything, just one line, I believe as long as you are here to make this kind of analysis, this show never gonna be boring regardless how much Ek tries as your thread will always put a smile on reader's face..😊..

Another lovely post, ma'am. Some great observations. And yes, I also agree that there may be a higher power ( read Jalal) behind Sharifuddin's actions. He is keeping the princes alive, not forcing the women, which makes me think of the influence of Jalal. I think he is perfectly aware that Jalal won't be too happy about it. He is a smart man, and quite attuned to Jalal's nature. Which helps him understand what will be acceptable and what will not be acceptable to Jalal. And can I just say, lovely post, ma'am. Your posts brighten up my evenings. 😊
