These people really need to get a life..

Harassing public for some petty protest over a TV show is so NOT done! I wonder why don't they realize the literal meaning of the term "Fiction" which has been constantly disclaimed during the commencement of each & every episode.

I just hope this thing doesn't hamper or cease the telecast of the serial as I have become quite fond of the show within the last few days.. And I also wish that no one faces any sort of hardships relating to life & death when it comes to (stupid/unreasonable/or any type of) protests. Life is much more valuable than history/sentiments,etc put together. It's high time people realize this eternal truth.

See guys. Why don't these people understand- is a sentiment that is not going to solve anything. Yes, they are idiots. Yes, they are ridiculous. But this ridiculousness can cost us the show. Hence, we as viewers also have some responsibility to help the show. And balaji does listen to people. We just need to get through to them.

Kudos to their never ending spirit and never give up mentality..Its been a long time since they have started the protests and see they are not fed up yet and still dragging the name issue upto that extent..when I heard about the protest I thought It would be against the portrayal of Rajputs as we many have problems regarding this..but proving me wrong, they are still stucked to their name issue..either they don't pay attention to the voice over of the disclaimer or don't understand the meaning of a disclaimer..and seems like they are very much sure that soon the history books will also add this love story in their syllabus and certainly everyone will start to believe that akbar's wife's name was jodha in real..😕

Yeah, exactly!! this is the best solution because Akbar is just too big a historical figure to mess around with. Ekta obviously doesn't get it, this isn't a saas bahu serial wherein she can do anything she wants. The Mughals or the Rajputs shouldn't have been depicted at all because Ekta just wants to tell a love story. Obviously, soon enough the Mughal descendants will also have major problems with the show because the Mughals are being portrayed in a bad light. Even when the movie was released a petition was filed in the Supreme Court because of the historical inaccuracies by a Mughal descendant.

I agree to put an end to all these pointless protests would be a change of name. But not for the characters of the show. But for the main title of the show itself. Instead of it being named as Jodha-Akbar as it is now...I think it would be more in the favour of the show if its changed to Jalal-ud-din Mohammed Akbar or simply Akbar whatever they prefer.

Remember the same mishaps happened during the launch of Bani-Ishq da Kalma as well. The series was originally titled Gurbani, which means composition of Sikh Gurus and the title of the series was changed after several concerns reported by Sikh organisations including Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. But everything is going fine for the serial now.

It will be more suitable as well since EK is actually showing those important bits of Akbar's life that was purposefully left out in the movie such as Ruqaiya & Salima. This will ensure that people will stop comparing it to the movie that goes by the same name of Jodha-Akbar. Since its only obvious that if two different entities goes by the same name, there are bound to be comparisons. Examples-- Dilip Kumar's portrayal of Devdas & SRK's portrayal. Same was the case in the remake of Don as well. Even though the plot was different, SRK was compared to Big B.

Its just the way human minds work. Since even a minute long disclaimer isn't satisfying enough for them.

If it is not to be about Jalal, that is about Akbar the Great, what is the point of this show? They might just as well do a Pavitra Rishta 2 at a tenth of the JA budget. And if one has to cave in every time some fringe group protests, where does one stop? They are also protesting against Maharana Pratap because of Marathi headgear for a Rajput prince. One cannot fall over and pretend to be dead every time there is one protest or the other.

I have not been following these protests, but even if they escalate in pockets, there cannot be any ban on the nationwide telecast. It is not like a theatre where they can intimidate the management into stopping the screening. Even for the film, though the Rajput Karni Sabha was very active against it, the ban was really effective only in Rajasthan.

The Information & Broadcasting Ministry is the only one which can ban a TV show, and they will never do anything like that for Jodha Akbar. So you can all relax and enjoy the serial.

Yes. This is why I suggested the change of names for the characters of the show. The tv show, anyway, has nothing in common with the movie. So, the people watching it are not watching the show because of the movie anymore. The easiest solution would have been to just change the names of Jalal and Jodha, and the rest of the characters. And make Jodha a normal hindu princess, and not a Rajput one. This could have been very easily done, and would have solved every problem. People will also stop comparing it to the original history. But everyone was quite annoyed with my solution. 😭 Let the story be the same, and change the names. That's the best possible solution for this mess.

but don't we depict other communities negatively in all the other serials? Like some vamps from a chawl? Or some evil white eye muslim gal? Or some really evil pandit somewhere?

Seriously, it's a serial, it's GOING to deviate from the original story, if there is an original story grand enough. THAT is the whole point.

Such drama over preserving history, and that too, now? Why didn't they talk to Ekta about ensuring the Rajputs, or any other community, is depicted a certain way, earlier? why not convey their qualms when the pilot was shot? We all knew about it as it was all over the news that the show would be starting.

smh.

The disclaimer purely states that it's a fictional show. Risking people lives so they can protest to ban a fictional show. Have they lost their mind? Why can't they use their brain to protest to more useful issues instead of dumb ones?If they are this serious about fiction shows showing these kind of things, than why don't they hell protest against another fiction show who manifest murder forgiveness, girl being buried, and saas torturing baahu?.🥱

When i heard about this protest i was like have these people lost their minds?I mean do they even work or are just a bunch of jobless persons who cant appreciate creativity and entertainment.
As a viewer who knew nothing about Jodha and Akbar i am learning about their history and is quite intrigued with the shift of events that EK has portrayed in the serial.
I mean if u hate the show then stop watching the damn show!!!!!If u think they are insulting history then my advice go read and book and refresh your memories. Some people dnt understand fiction is fiction and EK has a disclaimer so she has cinematic liberty. Why should a bunch of talented artists and actors' hard work and dedication go to waste just because a clueless group cant differentiate between fiction and non fiction.
I mean there are so many movies out there today that depicts real life events with their writers own twists for thrill and suspense so shall they shut down because they didnt follow the original story??
I dnt get it with some people and their actions. If they hate it then ban it from their home.History can never be changed but we can put our own spin on it.It doesnt mean anyone is disrespecting anything it just means we are not the same so obviously our perception on things wont be the same.

If they got to ban the serial then do it in areas where the people hate the show caz they are people around the globe that are enjoying the show.

Now, this is a fine idea. This is why I have been telling people to gather together, and suggest ideas. Changing the name to Akbar or something like that will help the show. And the Rajput princess can also be renamed, or her background can be changed if push comes to shove.
