I think.. that they have come to this because no one is actually listening to them. The ban on the movie was lifted too. The disclaimer is being run too. The issue is only creating a problem in some particular areas. Its not catching up as much.. It will probably be sidelined. Atleast I hope so..

People also wanted to ban the movie, if I recollect correctly.

Honestly, I am fascinated by Rajput history and I love the stories (my first favourite book growing up was a book on the history of Chittor told in story form- RajKahini by Abanindranath Tagore)- but also, I think, nowhere in politics can you find perfectly virtuous people- no offence to anybody.

Also, I think it's high time somebody puts an end to this culture of intolerance and banning we have. What you don't like someone else might like, and they have as much right to enjoy what they like (so long they are not actually harming anyone) as you have to not like it, and vice versa. Everytime someone says something that is contrary to our perception of truth, we want to ban them. Why? Why not protest in a constructive manner? Don't like a book by Rushdie? Write another book to show how it should be written, or write a book saying whats wrong with it. Don't like a tv serial? Instead of blocking a highway, use that time and energy to make another show or write a book about your version of true history- it's as easy as that!

What a freakish coincidence!😆 I wrote in a post a few hours back, that if Ekta keeps taking so much of creative liberties in the portrayal of Rajputs, there is bound to be a backlash and lo behold!😕

Now before someone from Akbar's lineage starts a protest, I think the wisest thing to do is to reign in the imagination of the creatives which is currently running super-wild and tame the story!
No one is expecting Balaji Telefilms to do an award winning documentary on the life and times of the Great Emperor...but at the same time, there is no need to exaggerate stuff so much, that it starts offending and hurting people of certain communities.

I m from Akbar lineage ... I m Mughal... my fore fathers were Mughal lived in dehli with proud civilization from centuries... but hmari kia haisiyat hae protest karnae ki protest tau who karae jin ki itna Mahan dikhaya hae aur wohi protest kar rahae hae👏

Showing rajputs in a bad light?
I think its the mughals who are shown villanous, brutal and ruthless whereas the rajputs are shown noble, wise and kind.
So what's the problem people?

Yes. This is why I suggested the change of names for the characters of the show. The tv show, anyway, has nothing in common with the movie. So, the people watching it are not watching the show because of the movie anymore. The easiest solution would have been to just change the names of Jalal and Jodha, and the rest of the characters. And make Jodha a normal hindu princess, and not a Rajput one. This could have been very easily done, and would have solved every problem. People will also stop comparing it to the original history. But everyone was quite annoyed with my solution. 😭 Let the story be the same, and change the names. That's the best possible solution for this mess.

Yeah, exactly!! this is the best solution because Akbar is just too big a historical figure to mess around with. Ekta obviously doesn't get it, this isn't a saas bahu serial wherein she can do anything she wants. The Mughals or the Rajputs shouldn't have been depicted at all because Ekta just wants to tell a love story. Obviously, soon enough the Mughal descendants will also have major problems with the show because the Mughals are being portrayed in a bad light. Even when the movie was released a petition was filed in the Supreme Court because of the historical inaccuracies by a Mughal descendant.

👏👏 Rightly said. People are so bloody intolerant towards something they don't like. Don't they hear or read the disclaimer? And how are rajputs shown in poor light. They are shown the heroes while Mughals are villains. And how do their sentiments get hurt if no historical account says Akbar married someone called Jodha? Some accounts actually SAY that Jodha was the name of Jahangir's wife or something, and the Rajput princess Akbar married was called Harkha Bai who had to change her name to Mariam Uz Zamani post marriage.
I hate the way people in India take offence over everything. It's so very stupid!

Well, the fact is the marriage between Jodha( or, the actual princess) and Jalal was a political alliance, and not a love match. And Rajput people are dead-against the love angle between the two. They refuse to believe a Rajput princess can even fall for a Mughal king. 😆 Name-change is the only solution. Because the protests are still going on, and they will keep this up until they get the show banned. And since the movie was a big deal, and people spent crores over it, Ashutosh Gowarikar had to fight against the protests and get the ban lifted. Even with all her power and persistence, why would Ekta go through all the trouble for a tv show? I don't get it honestly, why can't people simply suggest a name-change to them?

There are other issues now but, like Narendra Modi, ishrat jahaan etc.. I don't think that they are given much coverage.. Unless they go to court.. I don't think the protesters have much to put forward to.. What will they say?? We are unhappy with a love story?
