Honestly speaking I don't care however much they mangle history. I'm here for the love story and they can do whatever they want with history as far as I'm concerned.
Btw the guy was most definitely not a saint. He had killed about 30000 Hindus at one go in his early years. And about Jodha being his daughter-in-law, it's a mistake people make. His daughter-in-law had a similar name but se was most definitely NOT this Jodha. And he had about 5000 women in his harem, so since he's promoted as very lustful in one promo, it's true.
That said, I've just read all this at various places. I don't know what is true and what's false. I'm just telling what I have read.
That said, I'M LOVING THEIR CHEMISTRY even though they haven't appeared yet in one frame. I just have a feeling they're gonna be ELECTRIFYING!
Im a sucker for love stories, do whatever you want to Ekta, just make it entertaining.

Well it is also said that in his autobiography jahangir never once mentions the name of his mother. And it is also not sure that whether the rajput princess Akbar married who was later known as mariam-uz-zamani was indeed jodha or not??

The general consensus among historians is that there was no Jodha at all, and Mariam's previous name was never cited as Jodha but something else, her being a rajput is also contestable.

@bold: Have to agree on this bit... I am yet to watch the episode... but from the promos... this line was definitely annoying as Akbar was the most tolerant mughal emperor..even though we say that he became more tolerant after jodha's entry in his life, he defintely wasn't as jalad as he is portrayed in the promos..

I do feel that to focus more on the love story ...they are exaggerating Jodha's role in Akbar's life...

I just hope that the cvs remain true to the facts and no misinterpret the characters...

Will review the first episode after watching it 😊

I agree.. Lets see what the cv's have in store for us 😉

The problem is we can never really know the truth. I am taking this show with a grain of salt. I am treating it just like a fiction historical tv drama and not as an accurate portrayal of history.
It's a daily soap...I doubt there is a lot of historical accuracy beyond the names and dates. Heck there is even dispute among the names...we don't even know for sure if Jodha existed.
So I am just going to treat this show as pure fiction.

@ Disha- I see what you said about Akbar not being all that great until after 40's but then again the source is wiki and I don't really trust wiki. You may be right. It may very well be true that Akbar was cruel in his youth, but my point being we really dont know. I am sure before they made Jodha Akbar the movie, that they must have done research. So then they came to the conclusion that he was always soft hearted while Ekta Kapoor's research lead her to believe he was cruel in his early days. Anyways, my point being we simply do not know the truth and may never know.

@Bold: Well said 👏
It would be better for us if we treat it as fiction and enjoy it for all it's creativity. Otherwise we might get only disappointed.

@Bold: Well, that's the saddest part about history. Isn't it?? No matter how hard we try some facts will always be unknown.. 😔
