Last week in Jjhoom India Shweta Tiwari and Suresh Wadkar were eliminated as Shweta could not perform because of her bad throat and Shama Sikander had to change her partner as Zubin could not give dates for the show. We spoke to Shweta's partner Suresh and Shama for more about the respective issues.
Suresh reveals, "We did not perform last time so obviously we did not get marks. Shweta is not a trained singer. For any professional singer it is ok to sing with a bad throat but this was not case with her. We were in a competition so obviously nobody would have voted for us for the sake of friendship."
Adds Suresh, "We, Shekhar and Shama were in the danger zone. Shekhar told her that if she would have sung at least a few lines he would have not voted them out. But since we didn't perform it would have been injustice to Shama if he voted for them."
Meanwhile, speaking about changing her partner, Shama says, "It was not my decision but the channel's and production house's."
But what went wrong? "Zubin was not available for the show since he had other commitments. I could not speak to him. Initially I was told me that they are working on his dates and trying to solve the problem. But later on they informed that he is not coming at all."
Expressing disappointment, Shama adds, "We were just getting into tune after our first performance which was not good but then he had to go to Delhi. It was depressing as people liked our pair. We were a young jodi so that was an added advantage for us. I think because of this my voting will be affected."
Zubin has been replaced by Jolly Mukherjee, whom Shama terms as a father figure.
She concludes saying, "Day by day the competition is becoming tougher and the judges are stricter. I am tense as this is the first time I am participating in any singing show. Some of my co-contestants have some experience, but I am a complete bathroom singer. So let's see what happens."
