Ok before yeh banda more raita faylao, this is just my take on Ani. I stand to be corrected and my views are biased !
P.S. The BTS shot where J insists Ani to maango maafi, doesn't make it to the finale!
Wah re makers aur unke stunts!
Makers are living dangerously with this character - tipping point hai bbas before viewers give up on Ani or will they ever? 
TBH, only because Mr.Anirudh Bose is a work of fiction (apart from also Krushal who plays him convincingly!), this character is somewhat believable ! How otherwise would you disgest that an intelligent, shrewd and thinking character, would be so dense , with the matters of the heart, that he doesn't realise that he is actually in love?
Because his definition of love time and again, has been pyar mein log kisi bhi hadd par kar jate hai (the candle scene with J where he describes what pyar is!) So while everyone else is conscious of the levels of hadd he is crossing for J each day, he is doing it out of zimmedari or so he thinks?!
Who are we kidding again?! Or is he scared to face his own feelings, accept and acknowledge that he has fallen for J - because J clearly does not reciprocate his love? or because of how his family is towards her ?(the word Bhuchaal plays in the background!)
It is difficult to fathom that he does not understand his own feelings ! Or we use that he does not understand his own feelings towards Arshi (that there remains none) and towards J as an excuse, to bail his image out !
He has a deep sense of responsibility and an even deeper sense of commitment. So basically he will not shy away from what he considers "duty" !
This has somewhat worked in J's favour. But this "pran jaye par vachan na jay" is killing it for him ! He knows he has fallen out of love with Arshi, but he is now waiting for fate to wave it's magic wand?!
The pressure from both the families and society ko equation se bahar rakhte huye!
I would, he much rather have a lesser sense of commitment and a greater sense of straight forward transparency!
Ani says with all honesty and conviction that what he does is not wrong. Because he does things for J with never an intent of two-timing! He is sub-consciously in a saviour/protector and husband mode always - raat, din,subhah, shaam! When he is with J, he is a completely different person as opposed to when he is with the rest of the world ! Sare expectations, demand, hope, haq jatana bbas J se hi hai !
In his head, he loves Arshi, because he reminds himself and the world each day with an "I love you Arshi" ! He is as though programming himself "yehi hai, qki yehi sahi hai, yehi sab chahte hai" !
If the 50 shades of red flag Arshi breaks up with him, due to J's angle - Ani will be guilt ridden - a weird sense of right and wrong? or ego perhaps? that makes falling out of love with someone who I have been with for ages and falling in love with some one else - seem immoral?!
And because Ani drives the story -
1. Ani needs to come clean for his own sanity. He needs to initiate the break up with Arshi , with probably Arshi giving him a compelling reason - not sure what would be compelling enough? This has got nothing to do with him realising he loves J- it can happen later !
2.Ani realises and accepts that he loves J, even though J does not reciprocate it on his face ! Because it is his love for J and what lengths he can go to for it, that makes him special !
Neither of the above will happen anytime soon simply because this is Star Plus, toh hum yeh acutely obtuse right angled triangle mein gol gol ghumte rahenge !
P.S. Yeh makers astro physics ke kaunsa nyaya theorem prove karne ki kohshish kar rahe hai? Simple sa love story dikha do RuNak ke, itna dimaag lagana tha toh IIT exam dene chale jate by God
No hopes from this stupid couple. They both will talk about Rahul and Arshi and spend the night happily
