I absolutely loved this performance. Yes there was a point when they seemed to fumble in mid air and that must have been when Sanaya hurt her foot but it didn't detract from the performance at all. I don't know if it means I need to visit an optician but I honestly didn't see the fear or nervousness that others are speaking of and I went back and watched again for like the 50th time just to look for this. She was in pain but again I honestly didn't know that till the performance ended. I actually think that even with each repeated watch I feel more nervous than she looks😆. That last horizontal step makes my heart drop each time.
The floor routine was simple but oh so beautiful - she started off as a bud that opens up and blooms into a beautiful flower swaying in the wind relishing it's own beauty and drawing the butterfly towards it. Then the butterfly and flowers dance of love is simple in it's steps but you can feel the process happening . I loved the part where she holds onto his foot as he is about to fly off that's where the flower and butterfly's love transcends their roles and just becomes a love story. The khudha jaane main mit gaya part where Sanaya lets go and is hanging upside down so beautifully surmises being so in love that your own identity is secondary. As GH said that cinematic feel of the swaying with the woosh and then that step where she leans forward were mesmerising. The horizontal lift where the flower has completely surrendered to the butterfly, so in tune with the line 'ke ban gay ho tum mere khudha...just beautiful. At the end the butterfly drops the flower...maybe because their love so beautiful while it lasted can only be short lived💔
I really don't understand the technicalities of dance and I think for lay viewers like myself we go by the visual experience and the emotional connect of the performance and for me I was 100% involved in the beautiful story of the butterfly and the flower.
By the end of the performance I was laughing and crying together. Laughing with relief that she was safe and had pulled off such an amazing performance and crying for pretty much the same reason and also for the beauty of what I'd just seen.
Off to watch it for the 51st time😊
