One thing that works for me is the concept...the more unique and innovative the concept is, the more likely it will stand out

I actually agree with Ariana but only once the competition reaches a certain level. When everyone is almost at par in their dancing, the concept/choreography is what makes the difference in judging the better performance.

yes...its choreographer's job to make it perfect... at present, in these 2 weeks, i havent seen anyone making an effort towards some new concept... atleast Scarlet, Faisal and Raftaar could be expected to do something different..they are already great dancers...but their choreographer needs to work on how to make them stand out with new concepts...otherwise all we end up with is similar dance performances... Infact, I really liked this week's Dipika's performance..more bcoz of their Radha-Krishna fusion... the background was beautiful and the concept stood out! I wont see it was par excellence, but the choreographer did make an effort... Lets see how this week goes😳

yes scarlett faisal are the brightest of the lot...but the prblm is they r bttr than their choreos..
faisal nd vaishanavi are exceptional performers ...
scarlett is too highly talented but sadly her choreo dheeraj is not ..
he was there in DID4 nd after that direct jdj that too with such an accomplished dancer.
journey is going to be shakey IMO

I will put it the other way round-what doesn't work fot me in a dance performance.Excessive lifts are really distracting and annoying for me.I feel like I'm watching gymnastics instead of dance though professionals would rightfully disagree because they consider it to be an essential part of dance.

Lifts are as much a 'step' as a pirouette or a chasse or a grapevine. So dancers are correct there. However, I do agree with you as well. Excess lifts don't make for a good performance, just as excess of pirouettes or other movements wouldn't. It just shows a lack of creativity in choreography and personally, I am not fond of such routines either :)

lifts in a performance are those gasping moments which make u stun with"oh my god its AMAZING"
also done by those who can carry on gracefully that it seems effortless...
having said that... 2-3 lifts non repetitive in nature enhances the performance but as they say excess of anything is bad

For me its popularity and color's lead always win.. no matter how much amazing dancer you are but if you are not color's leading actor/actress you are nowhere..
