Its great to see that many people came to know about dance form which very new for people . I would also like to see other Choreographers to show us unique styles .

In Jhalak Dikhalaja we need to see new Jhalaks of unknown styles .

Sorry, we aint sitting here to watch such performance where is no dance. JDJ is dance based reality show so please show ur dance. If they had to perform some ritual and got us introduced to it, then they should have picked on such ritual, which has only pure dance instead of hanging onto bamboo, which was not difficut at all.

he he.. dance has various forms.. what else can i say.. 😃.. i think salman tried to bring sthg different.. but then whatever i have researched till now.. even these dances can be made complex with level of formations.. ..

I thought it was the lady in the center for whose "moksh" they were performing the ritual. And that's why in the end, her soul was liberated and taken to another peaceful world.

May be I'm wrong. But this is what I understood of concept.

Nice post 👏. And thanks to you for information on new dance form. From the act I only understood the concept and not dance style.

I concur with what you say, salman has been creative, yes, but when we as ordinary viewers watch it with no clue of what he is doing, we can do nothing but criticise, if he is given 30 marks for that, especially for non-drashti fans, the colours and judges come up as totally unfair, looks like they will be given 30 marks even if they perform only somersault in their acts , but thank you so much for this post, i can atleast now kind of relate to what they performed yesterday!!

true that.. if one does not have a context.. it is difficult to relate to.. and one may feel otherwise..

Ideally a brief description should be given before a dance form is introduced .. specially if sthg so new.. or sthg that doesn't fall in the category of typical dance is shown...

However, I still maintain.. and hope people understand..

broadly, a dance comprises performance and technicality - technicality is the movement part.. and performance is the act part..

Every dance is a mixture of this.. some may balance out both components.. some may be skewed more towards one or the other...

PS: by performance i don't mean sentiapa...i mean the entire setting.. so even break dance has performance aspect to it.. albeit lesser.. it is high on technicality..

As i was saying.. these ritual dances also can be very complex with formations and more difficult acrobatics..

however salman's performance was skewed towards performance...

There is nothing wrong abt it.. its the way this composition was..

So people are not wrong when they say 'dancing' was not there.. and neither are fans wrong when they say 'dancing' was there..

Hope this makes it clear to all...

not bad.. when i saw the dance.. i didn't get the concept at all..

i thot they were appeasing the king/queen/leader in the center...

but definitley did not associate it with a ritual dance...

and I think .. static expressions of dancers have a role here..
