Contestants/Choreographers Focusing More on Lifts Rather Than Dancing?

This is a trend I've been seeing from the previous season as well. Do any of you feel that for some performances more of the focus is on lifts and more acrobatic elements rather than pure dance elements? I mean it's okay to have lifts and creative acts in the dance, but when you take most of the pure dance away from the real dancing elements, then it's more of a gymnastic type of act, if you know what I mean. Is it only me or does anyone think the same that for some contestants/choreographers pairs they focus more on the lifts and stuff rather than pure dance?

You took the words right out of my mouth. I feel as if the entire dance is about lifts and poses/ holding the girl for a while at a certain angle. The basic nuances of the dance have been put aside. Even if they do incorporate the real essence of the dance, it is given a minor portion but stretches, lifts and poses are given the most prominence.
Plus I'm really disliking this huge infatuation of choreographers for contemporary. They do they almost every time. Its like it has become a routine. One cannot expect anything different.

I mean if you are trying to do Salsa, then just do Salsa don't try to fuse contemporary with it at some place. Keep 100% originality of that dance form. Also, don't try to do fusion of contemporary or bollywood every chance you get with the original dances.

In short I can sum the entire dance content of JDJ as a mixture of: Contemporary + lifts + poses + stretches. And its not been the case for this and the past season. It has become a trend for many of the previous seasons.

Lifts are difficult for the dancers too but still they are mostly doing not becoz they want to do but they bring the WOW moments that get them marks easily.

The 3 judges sitting out there dont give marks for pure dancing🥱

U know what i hv seen numerous topics on this same thing fr the last few seasns nd i hv never really replied to ne of them cause i dnt agree bt then opinions do vary i personally prefer lifts, stretches nd poses over latkas nd thumka cause i find them xtremely beautiful nd graceful yeah it really irks me when 1uses lifts to cover up ur poor dancing skills or do aerial acts everyweek nd gets the applause bt when u do forms like contemporary its all abt flexibility a prsn wthout flexibility can do contemp but it smhow lways looks incomplete so i dont really agree just my opinion though

me too feel the same...putting contemperory in all the acts...
any theme..put contemperory and start lifting and poses...

pure indian theme...all the indian dancers/choreos took contemperory and bollywood...

sreeshanth, sukhwinder, mouni and the foreign choreographer only took indian dance forms..

u can add wow element with dance steps too...the choreographers and the judges shld more concentrate on dance...

IMO lifts provide the wow factor nd hence choreographers use dem to literally lft their performance.😆 But yeah der shld be a restriction as dance shld be d most important aspect of a performance.

Also IMO Savio is one choreographer who is good at lifts nd he did a marvelous job wid Hard Kaur. Also wid Bharti he had done many lifts, but I think dat is possible only if d partner is short as in d case wid Hard Kaur nd Bharti, but wid Kritika it is somehow not looking as graceful.

I agree with you. Since the last season , there have been more of lifts and aerial acts than the dancing itself. I wish they were allowed only 1 or 2 lifts in a routine, and focus more on the dancing.
Remo told off Savio for having 2 many lifts in his last routine. why was he the only one targetted when shakti also had lot of lifts in both her routines??
