The bad man of tellywood is upset. And it's not because 'Ansh' didn't get his way again, it's because Akash was eliminated from the dance show Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja. All those who saw the episode on Wednesday night couldn't have missed the undertones of sarcasm in Akash's voice as he spoke his heart out to the judges. "I didn't lose my temper, but whatever I said, I said straight from the heart. I've always been an extremely direct person, why should I change my ways at 30!" says Akash. But he insists he's not upset about being booted out, rather, it's the way in which he was expelled that really hurt him. "The whole judging process was extremely unfair. I'm sure Farah (Khan, one of the judges and Akash's ex) still has something against me. If I'd known that she was one of the judges, I wouldn't have agreed to participate in the show. But I thought she'd be more professional," says Akash, continuing, "I respect Farah as a Bollywood choreographer, but she still needs to learn her fundas about ballroom dancing!"
But Farah wasn't the only judge who got the brunt of Akash's words. Shilpa Shetty was accused of not knowing her job. "I told Shilpa on her face that she should think for herself. She was so confused herself about the dances, she couldn't differentiate between the salsa and the samba!" Did he feel a hint of favouritism in the judging? "Definitely. If there can be a lavni in a salsa, why can't there be a bhangra in a ramba? When Jadeja does a flip, they said 'You took my heart away', but when I did theatrics, it's termed as 'acrobatics'. Now, is that fair?" asks Akash. So has this episode deterred him from participating in such programs? "I didn't do this show for marks, I did it for the spirit. And the judges killed my spirit, of course I'd be upset! It's the comments about me that really hurt me. But I guess the judges are bigger than the contestants. I didn't mean to disrespect the judges, I just said what I truly felt!" .
