even if sanjay gives mahesh a 10, it is ultimately up to the voters and what they decide on who the best dancer is its all up to the public on who they want to vote for in the end...in reality the public's opinion and the judge's opinion never match like in fame gurukul where qazi kept getting the most public votes even though there were more qualified singers in my opinion before him who were voted out because of the public.

I disagree, If judges are giving 50 out of 50 the probability to win or be safe in the next round becomes more.

and In the rest 50% of votes for Public, I guess probabilty is less even to get 5 %, So the bottom line is 50% of votes from the Judges means a lot the participant is safe for the next round, unless and untill the entire India votes for the other contestant, which is next to impossible.

Even if there are qualified judges, there will always be favoratism going on. I mean if for an example, i know this will not happen but, you are a qualified judge and you have madhuri and aishwaria doing a competition and you are not a madhuri fan...who would you give more votes to? Even though we want the "qualified" judges to be fair..the judge will obviously give more pts. to their favorites because it is human nature. In this case the judges might be friends with some of the contestants are they are going to give their friends a higher pt. value. Farah may not be giving Ajay more pts. because they were once boyfriend/girlfriend.

Do you mean Aakashdeep or Ajay Jadeja?😃

Has he studied dance forms? Not to my knowledge.

He has no qualification to be judging this show. In addition to that he is blatantly biased towards his fraternity (Mahesh). He has given him two 10s in a row. There is no justification for that. This man has no sense how to appear on TV. He is always chewing something while on TV. This is extremely impolite and should not be tolerated by the producers of the show. He adds little to no value in his critique to the contestants. He simply says "I liked your dance" or "you were spicy", etc. Obviously, each person will have their likes and dislikes. However, for a judge there has to be some basic knowledge and background in the field you are asked to judge. I think someone like Shaimak Davar should have been a judge instead of SLB. This is not a contest about directing movies. What do you guys think?

I totally agree with you.

Sanjay Bansali's comments always goes like this....spicy sexy or saucy.I wonder what he means by saucy.

Totally unfit to be a judge. Chewing in front of public or while rec'ving awards is considered

BAD MANNERS.

first of all, being one of the top most directors of India, he had to have been on top of his game. What,, you guys don't think acting is choreography? It totally is. Watch Black again. There's barely ever been a Hindi movie like that.. EVER!! It's more about facial expressions, hand movements, and talent. If Bhansali could get some of the best performances out of topmost actresses like Rani, Aishwarya, Manisha, Salman (He's been great only in SLB's movies), and even Amitabh Bachan who claims Black is his best performance to date, then he has to know something or the other about dance and every aspect of a film.

I know what it's like being in a video.. on the set, a director will never show down the choreographer. They have to show mutual respect for their respective talents. It's only in private that they will discuss various ways to doing choreography. Farah khan has choreographed a zillion songs.. not all of them have been truly awesome. A lot of it has to do with the directors and their vision. although he's a director, its SLB who discovered Shreya Goshal.. A director pays attention to each and every detail of his film, becuz in the end that's his baby. He may not know technicalities in a choreographed dance, but he judges based on aesthetic, expressions, and overall performance. We have Farah for the technicals. Why step on her toes?

As far as him being biased, I agree with some of you about it... i mean, mahesh is great.. i always love watching him perform.. but he didn't rate comments like "i'd like to give you a 15 or 18." i believe mona and shveta deserved those kind of comments as well. But putting all that aside, if you're dissing Bhansali for not being a competent choreographer/judge, then you're wrong. Shveta was on the top during the first round. He gave Rati an awewsome review and even Mona during the second round. He appreciates true talent.

You consider Black to be Masterpiece? This was one of the worst/over the top movies I've EVER seen. Amitabh was downright aweful in the movie. He overacted like crazy. The ONLY person who acted well in the movie was that girl who played the younger version of Rani. The direction of the movie was terrible. I couldn't believe how so many peopel were praising this movie to the hilt. I thought maybe there is something I'm missing. I showed this movie to 5 non-Indians who had no knowledge of Indian movies. And all of them thought (like me) the movie was pathetic. SLB tried way too hard to make people cry at the expense of being realistic. No wonder the movie was not even considered for the Oscars. He has too high an opinion about himself. He thinks he's the greatest director ever born.

All that aside, a director is like a manager of a project. Although he is aware of and makes decisions about various aspects, he is NOT an expert in every field. For example, the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam had great music, but that does not mean he has great knowledge of the technical aspects of music. If he was to compose he would fall flat on his face. The reason there are subject matter experts in each and every area of movie making is because the director cannot be expected to know everything. He has an overall vision about the project where the various experts help him bring that vision into reality.

You mentioned shreya Ghoshal, well he heard her on SRGMP and liked her voice and used her in a film. He didn't actually discover her. He merely recognized and appreciated her talent and then consulted with his music director who though that yes Shreya is a good singer and can be used. Do you think for a minute that if Ismail Darbar thought that Shreya could not sing well enough that Sanjay would have insisted on using her?.

Dude, I showed this movie to about 16-20 peops at my home when i had a get together (indians and non.. and all professionals), and they all loved it... honey, when somebody comes up with a negative reaction to a movie, then we'd end up looking for those flaws in that movie.. it happens all the time. when we read bad reviews of a movie, then we tend not to watch it or liek it. so if your 5 friends didn't like the movie, then they prob just shared your views!

Oh and it wasn't nominated for the Oscars is becuz it's not an original story.. there have been other films made based on Helen Keller.

look, i dont know sanjay bhansali.. .all i know is i like his movies and that he's an exceptional director. the topic he touched on in Black, and the beautiful way he directed it, how many directors do you know would actually make a non-commercial film like that and make it so beautifully? Astitva, Black, Chandni Bar, Pinjar.. they're all in a class of their own. But again, these are not just my opinions, but majority of the populations in India and all over the world. But whatever, everybody's entitled to their own opiinion.

As far as Shreya's concerned.. yeah, he saw her on sa re ga ma, but look at how many singers have come across that platform in the past 15 years? why just her? She rose to instant stardom after devdas! tomorrow if I'm on a show and one of the judges watches me and likes my performance and offers a role, the credit goes to HIM for initiating the launch and making me a superstar! She herself gives him the credit for it.

Agreed, a director doesn't have specialties in every field.. but he knows enough to know whats needed in each category. You mentined that a director may not know how to compose music.. fine, he can't.. But i've seen some awful movies with good music. That's when you say, ok, this director is only a movie director.. People like Subhash Ghai, S Bhansali, Vishal Bhardwaj, are not just movie directors.. but they know good music, good editing, good choreography, etc.. SLB is not technical like Farah, but he knows good talent. Look at him.. only 4 movies in his belt, and he is still at the top.

We'll just have to disagree on this. The other movies you mentioned are all excellent movies EXCEPT black which is a pathetic movie. I also disagree on Subhash Ghai being a good director. Other than Karz all of his movies have been downright horrible. Having some knowledge on a subject does not qualify you to be a judge. By definition, judge means someone who has expert knowledge in that area. If you wanted to rate directors then people like Vishal Bharadwaj, Rajkumar Hirani, Nagesh Kukoonor, Madhur Bhandarkar rank WAY ahead of SLB whose last two films have been downright terrible (Devdas and Black).

Man...

This is the first time I have heard somebody bashing "BLACK". I think it is one of the alltime best movies.
