Can't believe that some people have spent so much money voting SMS. As an international viewer, I have voted online (no cost) except my time but how much are they charging per SMS? Why won't the Channels limit the votes to 5 or so per SMS. Is the money coming from SMS's a revenue for these people. Someone explain!!

There is a post by music_masti which explains the voting and how the channel earns from sms https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/jhalak-dikhhla-ja-5/3207433/episode-discussion-22-23-september?pn=4

Hope that helps explaining the whole sms thing😊

Thanks. I still they should limit the number of votes for each SMS to a smaller number to make it fair and prevent young people from overspending.

I doubt that channel wants prevent young people form overspending, I think that is their target audience. As long as the show is making money and the current system is working the channel won't make any changes.

But in DID voting is absolutely free, instead of sms they have calling system. I was surprised that Zee made the decision to forgo the profits of sms system.
