Why Are We Blaming the Dancers?

I don't want this thread to start an argument, so before I go on, please do not bash anyone. If you want to convey your opinion, then that's completely alright as long as you don't bash anyone. There's a difference between "I don't like Blahblah's dancing" and "Blahblah sucks".

Anyways, moving on...

I created this topic because I've noticed a lot of people are bashing celebrities like Bharti and Gurmeet because they've performed poorly for a few weeks and are still in the competition. I'm not denying that their performances weren't up to par, but why blame them for someone else leaving? I've noticed a lot of posts in which Gurmeet or Bharti and even others (although less frequently) are blamed directly for contestants like Shibani and Darsheel leaving. The dancers haven't done anything to make them go. Their fans just voted enough to save them. It's really disappointing to come across a post which puts the dancers directly at fault for their co-contestants being eliminated.

From the beginning, it was clear that voting was a part of JDJ but a lot of people are complaining. Yes, some dancer's perform poorly sometimes, and according to the judge's scores they should go. However, this isn't purely a judge's score show. It's a combination of both scores and voting, and it's been made clear from the beginning, so I don't understand why some members act surprised.

Anyways, all I want to say is that I'm frustrated with reading comments which bash dancers and claim them to be at fault that others are leaving. I loved Darsheel too, but in no way am I holding Bharti, Gurmeet, or any other dancer responsible for his elimination, because it's simply not their fault. It's a competition with voting involved, and we all know that, so the best we can do is have intellectual discussions and move on.

Any healthy discussion is welcome.

I agree with you, it can get irritating to read the same over and over again.

And I also agree, it's a fact that this show is based on voting, and thus the contestant can't do anything about it other than try and improve and give out good performance. So definitely they shouldn't be blamed for others' leaving.

I think the problem is that many people including me would like someone deserving to stay and it's gets frustrating and embarrassing to see someone deserving leave while the undeserving or of a lesser caliber enjoys being on the stage. But then again deserving itself is a individual perception. So you're right, it should definitely be not taken out on the contestants. But then again I think most of posts are simply saying that they would want ABC to leave or ABC should have left. I haven't seen people bash a celebrity in such posts. Many times I have seen, a criticism or opinion being labelled as bashing by certain fan groups when the member might have simply stated their viewpoint. Now that is something I have problem with. Criticism should be taken in the right spirit as long as members don't start mud slinging the contestant.

So to an extend I agree with you completely.

Nice post. I have also noticed that some people hate some celebrity so much that they even go to his age and looks to bash him/her. This is not fair because everybody wants to win the show and its make no sense to expect that the celebrity will leave the show willingly since he/she cant dance well.

@Chandramukhi I agree, it can get frustrating to see some dancers leave while there are other dancers who are clearly not as talented stay in the competition. However, like you said, that is a personal preference.

I'm surprised you haven't seen the bashing of celebrities on this forum. I've come across a lot of posts which pick on the contestants for reasons which doesn't even involve their dancing. I've also seen people who categorize opinionated posts as bashing, like you've said.

I agree that criticism is alright as long as it's constructive.

@papia I totally agree with you! I've also seen members choosing random things such as those you've mentioned as an excuse to bash the contestant.

I didn't mean I haven't seen any bashing, oh yes, I see it everyday non stop. I just meant in the threads where they discuss who should leave or who should stay. I am sure even there certain might go to an extend of bashing. I just meant mostly people simply express their opinions about who should go based on their individual preference. But are are times when the posts don't even include any bashing, and it is labelled as one, that's what I have problem with and i am sure you know the ones I am talking about.

Yeah, I understand what you're talking about. I've definitely seen posts where people express their opinions. In fact, a lot of members on this forum express their opinions well. I'm just talking about a select few individuals who prefer to directly hate on contestants, or in other words, bash them.

I guess, almost everyone who's watching JDJ, has seen the trend in last 4 seasons of JDJ. Still whenever any contestant with good dancing skills is eliminated, most of them show disappointment, as if there is anything new happening this season

As long as public voting system is there is such reality shows, we can neither blame any contestant nor fans.

If someone really feels so bad, please ask the channel & JDJ PH to make the required changes i.e. remove the idea of public voting. Why take out your frustration on other contestants popularity?

But which channel will do that. After all they are getting their business out of such reality shows.
