Today's court proceedings were so fast-paced, I find myself panting! 😛 Anyways, it was an interesting episode, 3 cheers for Indira 👍🏼 , but, hats off to Thakral's brains too!!
PRISON: JASSI'S CELL
Jassi stands up to see Indira Bhargav.
"Call me by any name." she says, listlessly.
"But what is the truth?" Indira asks.
"The truth is Jassi. And that she has not died."
"And who then is Jessica?"
"A fake face."
"I want to meet the true girl behind this fake face."
Indira urges. "Tell me, how did Jassi turn to Jessica, and how did she land in jail?"
An anxious Armaan(guys, he's shaved! And is looking extra cuuuuute 😊 ) is standing outside the prison, looking very pensive.
"Mallika Seth." Jassi answers curtly. "Mallika was the woman who threw Jassi out of Gulmohur, accused her of crimes she had never committed and put her in jail."
"Does that mean she used false witnesses?" Indira asks.
"Yes! She hid letters and my old clothes in my apartment and got the police there! Can't we somehow prove that Mallika was the one who hid these things in my house?" Jassi asks anxiously.
"We will, Jassi; we will" Indira soothes her. "But first & foremost, we need to prove one important thing: that YOU are Jassi. Tell me, is there anybody who have witnessed the Jassi to Jessica transformation?
"Yes! Nandini Madam and Purab.." answers Jassi.
"Your friends?"
"Yes!"
Indira sighs. "I'm afraid then, that they can't help us Jassi. The court will assume that they are involved along with you."
Jassi looks shocked at this cruel reality.
"Is there anyone else?" Indira prompts.
"But the rest are all in Mauritius!"
"Jassi! I have seen your pictures. Such a massive transformation...surely it would have required the dentist, the hair-stylist, the beautician....?"
(Indiraji, did you visit our IF?? 😛 )
"Yes!" Jassi's eyes light up. "Bausch & Lomb, Kaya Skin Clinic!"
"Good!! These are all big brand names and can be solid witnesses!" Indira sounds pleased.
"And they can't forget me, Indiraji! It might be the first time that a girl like Jassi has gone to them for a make-over!" Jassi grins. "I am really lucky to have you!" She tells Indira, with gratitude.
"Say you are lucky to have Armaan", Indira smiles.
Jassi's face lights up and she blushes with pleasure. 😳
Outside, Armaan speaks to himself. "Don't worry Jassi, I know you'll be free soon. Only Indiraji should get a breakthrough."
Inside, Jassi tries Nandini's cell but can't get through. She then proceeds to dial her home number. But she learns that Nandini is away for a Bipasana camp, having switched off her cell and with no idea of the date of return.
(Gee..I was half-expecting her to shout "CHAK DE PHATE" through the phone... 😉 )
Indira mentions that this isn't great news. Jassi then dials Purab's number. Just then the lady constable catches her and warns her that she is not allowed to call anybody from the jail. Jassi abruptly cuts off the phone, leaving a puzzled Purab to shout "hello, hello".
Purab then gets into his car and leaves for the prison.
Jassi asks Indira if she will talk to Purab & Indira agrees.
OUTSIDE THE PRISON: ARMAAN, PURAB & INDIRA
Purab gets out of his car and stops in his steps, to see....Armaan.
Armaan looks up to see him, startled. 😲 Both stare at each other, long & hard. 😳
They walk towards each other, each looking extremely cautious and conscious.
They are still giving each other icy cold stares (The temperature outside the jail would have surely dropped by a couple of degrees!), when Indira walks out of the prison, to see these 2 heroes face to face, one with his eyebrows knit to such an extent that it looks like a unibrow and the other's cutie pie face covered by dark clouds of absolute insecurity.
Armaan & Purab turn to see her.
Armaan greets her. "Oh Indiraji! How is Jassi?? Did you manage to get the proofs?"
"You will have to help me here, Mr. Suri!" Indira smiles.
Purab intervenes. "Thanks for taking our case, Indiraji. Oh, I am sorry..I'm Purab Mehra."
"Oh, so you are Purab?? Jassi just told me about you..."
(OH!! You should have captured our Armu's face....as soon as he heard the words " Jassi just told me about you", he looked DEVASTATED.... 🤢 poor poor Armu!! (he did look sweet though))
And Purab!! Lol..he gives a quick glance at his rival's darkened face and...my, doesn't his face light up!! 😃 He looks escastic.
"Oh really??"
"Yes..you were in Mauritius with her, weren't you?"
Armaan baby's face worsens...his heart sinks...the secrets of the past few months spilling out, one by one..Purab...Purab was with Jassi?????
Indira continues to Purab, "I think you need to go to Mauritius, Mr. Mehra, to collect the proofs of the make-over."
Armaan interferes. "Even I am going Indiraji. I want to do all I can for Jassi."
Purab looks at him with disappointment. 🤔
Indira smiles. "Don't think, Mr. Mehra. Let him come. He can do anything for Jassi. Don't try to stop him, you can't."
(Golly...Purab & Armaan together going to Mauritius....where is this story heading?? 😕 )
WALIA HOUSE
Bebe is as usual worrying for Jassi, wondering what she might be going through in jail. Nandu arrives, jumping like a monkey and dancing with glee. 🤡 "We found a lawyer!" he shouts. Bebe looks puzzled. "But you had found one already, hadn't you? We know this! Billu told us about it."
Nandu looks at Billu who tries to cover up. Amrit looks pleased. Nandu provides that Indira is a very able lawyer and deals with big cases and her name is famous across the newspapers. Amrit thanks God for the good luck.
PURAB'S HOUSE
Purab is telling a certain Mr. Kapoor (on the phone) to hurry up and book tickets for Mauritius as he needs to get there asap.
Meanwhile, Armaan is telling himself that for getting proofs for his Jassi, he is ready to cross 7 oceans. (WAH! 👏 )
(This sounds like there is a contest for winning Jassi's hand: who gets the proofs first. 😆 )
NDTV updates on Indira's appointment as Jessica's lawyer.
COURT
Thakral & Indira come face to face.
"So finally, you took the case!" Thakral scoffs. "You have heard Miss Indira that I never lose!" he says with pride.
"And I never let the innocent suffer!" says Indira, with confidence.
"Innocent or no...I don't care...I see that they are punished..by hook or by crook." 😈
"That is the difference, Mr. Thakral..I win only with the help of truth."
Thakral laughs his haughty laugh. "Note it Miss Indira, we need witnesses in court, not truth."
"You note it too, Mr.Thakral, there is no bigger witness than truth."
"Let's see whose note turns right, shall we Miss Indira?"
"Sure."
Jassi is then brought in the police jeep to the court. She is taken inside, as her family watches from a distance and silently shower their blessings.
The court proceedings begin.
Indira introduces herself as Jassi's new lawyer.
Indira: Your honor, I will take the case for Jassi. I will fight to prove the truth: that the murder which she is being accused of, actually didn't occur at all, and that she is Jasmeet Walia herself.
Thakral: Your honor, it'll be better if the proofs are presented soon & the court's time is not wasted.
Indira: Don't worry, Mr. Thakral .This is my line of witnesses. I will show that all this was a conspiracy to trap Jassi.
Thakral: I object, Your honor. This is a question of murder, not of any company fraud.
Indira: Where did I mention any company or a fraud, Mr. Thakral?
Thakral is caught by his own tongue. The court is stunned to see Indira's smart move.
Indira :Your Honor, I would now like to question the people I think have trapped Jassi. I would first like to call upon Miss Mallika Seth.
Mallika's face drops. She comes up reluctantly to the witness box, making a face.
Indira: So, did Jessica Bedi work for Gulmohur, Miss Mallika?
Mallika: Yes.
Indira: And the proof for that?
Mallika: Of course, there are the contract papers.
Indira: Of course, signatures are big proofs, aren't they?
Mallika (making the snobbiest face in the world 🤢 ) :Jee haan!
Indira: So you might have paid her money too?
Mallika: What do you mean by asking such ridiculous questions in front of everyone! Do you suspect my intentions? Of course, we paid her the money!
Indira: Relax, Miss Mallika, relax. You are looking so scared as if I blamed you of something!
She then produces a cheque and asks.
"Is this your sign?"
Mallika: Yes.
Indira: See this 2nd cheque the, is this your sign too?
(It has JWalia signed on it, in exactly similar handwriting as Mallika's)
Mallika's face darkens. She remains quiet and shocked. 😲
Indira: Your honor, this is JWalia's sign. Miss Seth, I'm asking you, why has the color faded from your face? You are not answering me, if this is JWalia's sign, why are you taking so much time to answer?
Thakral: Objection Your honor! This has nothing to do with Jassi's murder!
Judge: Objection overruled. (Thank God!)
Indira: Tell me, Miss Mallika...is this your sign or no? Think before you answer because I don't shoot arrows in the air! She looks at Mallika sternly.
Thakral twists his fingers.
Mallika: This cheque...
Indira: What This cheque?
Mallika: Your honor, you can see this is JWalia's sign, why is she asking me then??
Indira: Right, this is JWalia's sign. Then what is your handwriting doing on this cheque?
(She hands a file to the judge).Your honor, these are the reports from a handwriting expert and also from the Indian Graphology Bureau. It conforms that both handwritings are Mallika's.
Mallika looks like she'll faint. 🤢 Thakral looks totally hopeless.
Jassi looks hopefully. Nandu smiles with glee, Amrit nods her head, gang looks happy too. Raj looks totally shocked (I guess he's shocked to see Indira as the first person whose brain works faster than his own superbrain. 😛 ) Armaan & Purab are absent (by now maybe in Mauritius, still staring icily at each other 😳 )
Indira: Also in the same file, are Jassi's bank accounts, the statements of which prove that Mallika transferred Kohinoor's money to a fake account with Jassi's name; blamed Jassi of crimes she hadn't done and defamed her along with her family, for other reasons.
Both bank accounts and deposit slips prove that Mallika was using JWalia's account.

Judge: You want to say anything, Ms. Mallika?
Mallika stammers: My lawyer...
Thakral stands up. "No questions, Your honor."
Judge :Then this is a clear case of fraud and action will be taken on Ms Mallika.
Mallika looks terrified.
Indira: Mallika, you are not that smart as you think you are!
The gang starts discussing about Mallika, the way she tortured Jassi and how she deserves this.
Thakral stands up. "As this is a new angle to the case, I need some time to state my points.
The judge announces a 10 minutes break.
Outside the court, Thakral scolds Aryan & Mallika for hiding this from him. Mallika argues that she never dreamt this would come up in court. Thakral says that the moment he saw Indira, he felt she would bring something up in court. He tells Mallika to forget about trapping Jassi and think of saving herself. Aryan suddenly excuses himself.
Aryan is talking to Mr. Merchant (who is supposed to be working in GM). The man says he cans save Mallika if he is payed the deserved money.
NDTV announces :"Don't forget to watch 'Dhoom' on 29th May 8.00 pm on only on Sony Entertainment Television". 😕 "We now proceed to the JESSICA BEDI case".
Thakral: The proofs presented by Miss Indira were all paper work. I would now like to present new proofs which will prove Miss Indira false.
Indira looks up in surprise.
Mr. Merchant walks up to the witness box.
Jassi looks apprehensive. Indira assures her that she is used to Thakral's usual drama and asks her not to worry.
Thakral: Mr. Mercant, can you tell the court what you do?
Merchant: I work for GM.
Thakral :So were you in Gulmohur on the night of 16th April? What did you see?
Jassi looks up nervously.
Merchant: Well, I saw Miss JESSICA BEDI in Mallika's cabin, working on her computer.
Thakral: And you let her continue?
Merchant: How could I see a wrong act and let it go unnoticed? (We are shown the flashback, and Merchant capturing Jassi through his cell camera.) At that time...
Thakral: Wait Mr. Merchant! We'll all see what you saw!
A TV is brought into the court. Thakral plays the cassette of Jassi working away on Mallika's computer and transferring the money back to Kohinoor.
Indira looks at Jassi in surprise. Jassi looks shocked. Mallika smiles like a vamp.
Thakral laughs. "This is a case of the thief scolding the policeman! And that too in court!! And that too in court!" His voice turns cruel with agitation." Wow! What daring, I must say! It is clearly seen Your honor, that Jessica Bedi was opening JWalia's account from Mallika's computer! So the crime was done by JESSICA BEDI & the blame was put on Mallika!! Everything is clear now...Jessica Bedi is a thief and a murderess!!
Mallika smiles with delight. Raj shakes his head in disbelief. Bebe's hand rises to her mouth.
Jassi cannot believe her own bad luck. 😭
MONDAY: Indira accuses Mallika of hiding Jassi's belongings in her flat. She says that Jassi's watchman is the evidence. Mallika shouts that how can this be possible, when she had taken care to enter the house only after the watchman had left............She stops start to realize her own folly!
