Archiving this section. Your views? - Page 3

i would really hate to see this section go. just like khush it was my first section on IF, practically my home on IF.

However, I will vote for a "yes". what we can do is open a chat club. May be two chat clubs. One called JJKN section Chat club and all the active members here can chat and talk there just as they do here. They can dig up old posts from here and talk about it there. Everything can be done. Another chat club can be opened for blyton's updates. Her write-up is the highlight of this section after jjkn got over. But we have to make sure everyone shifts there. Why don't we give it a try for now? Someone make a CC and put the link here. Lets try it out for a week and see if we like it...there is no harm in trying right? and Sowmya dii, i think we should wait till everyone is ready to let go.

I think kp is right, we shud open a JJKN FC and see if we can adjus, nothing wrong in giving a try, sowmya di why dont u open a JJKN FC.Its our responsibility to make sure that the members are vising the FC and im sure all will coz we love JJKN,JANDA and we are emotionally attached to it.
As JJKN forum was the first forum on IF and it had given birh to IF so archieving it will be a real shame.

Friends, dont lose heart. we are just discussing the Pros and Cons here. We have not taken any decision, and We Assure you that this section will not be closed till we get a NOD from you all.

We have made this topic just to know what you all think about this... I very clearly understand that IF started with JJKN. Many members who are active today, loved this serial like anything. This serial got them into IF and they are here in IF today, only bcos of this section.. We all understand this very well.

And yes, when we think of archiving few more sections, we have all other sections like KYPH, Kavyanjali etc etc also in mind. So the question of being unfair only to JJKN does not arise..

Few reasons why we think Archiving Sections which are over need to be done are:

1. Closure of one section can clear off space in the server, which can later be taken up by any other serial that is on air at the moment..
   
2. If the section is there even after the serial is over, it means that we need to set aside a DEv Team for this section, even though the serial is over.. So this means that, that particular Mod/Viewbie has double work, has to take care of this section as well as other sections which are more active as the serial is running.. At times, a Dev Member cannot have lots on the plate, so when we have 5 sections still on, even after the serial is over, it does mean that there are atleast 10 Dev Members who are still associated with these sections. Hence the Dev team loses these Dev Members and cannot allot more sections to them, even if they are very very good..
   
3. One more thing is, all starts on a happy note and everything in life needs to end.. In the same way, JJKN too ended. Yes, we have been having this Section open for a long time now.. But dont you all think we should move on? Friends, please do not think we are forcing our decisions on you. We are just trying to put facts to you, so that you might consider all these points and arrive at a proper decision. So feel free to talk. Remember that we all want our members to stay here, we never want to close a section and make a big group of members unhappy. So just think about these things and then decide.

I agree that without JJKN, you all might feel like you have lost your "Home". This happens and i have also faced the same situation when one section that was really close to my heart was closed.. Infact, it pained a lot when i had to archive that section which i loved.. So yes, i agree that we get upset and tend to feel that we lost a big thing in life. But believe me, there are many other ways in which you can keep your interests and love for your actors intact..

You all can very well have your Fan Fics in the Fan Fics Section, create an Exclusive Club or something for the JJKN members. You can have a Fan Club for your favourite stars like Apurva, Mona etc.. I am sure you can very well discuss about Apurva in Kaajal section. I agree that you miss mona. So you can create a Chat Club or Fan Club for her and talk about her there..

I seein this section, you all talk about the various articles that are posted about the actors who were associated with JJKN and have a talk on that. There is nothing much to do except talk of articles, write fanfics, have chat clubs.. So can we have all this elsewhere ? is the question for which we need an answer.

So friends, please do not feel that we are pressurising you in any way. We will not take any action without we get a nod from you. But we really want you all to think about the points that we have stated above, then decide whether you are for the Archiving of this Section or not..

The answer to your question: yes, i believe the re-runs are on now.

Sree, JJKN reruns are on everywhere except in India. So we are not just discussing the actors and articles - but also updating the rerun episodes everyday. And these episodes took place before IF started. So these episodes have never been updated before. And as some of us missed these episodes the first time around, we really enjoy updating and discussing these episodes. In fact some of the best episodes of JJKN are just about to start.

Oh Hansa, thanks for clarifying.. I thought the reruns are not on air.. and i was really confused whether the reruns were on air. That is one reason why i asked that question in the P.S. of my reply.. 😳If the reruns are on, then we will never archive this section.. No worries.. 😳 Be assured..

Me closing this thread bcos we just heard that the rerun of JJKN is on. So we cannot archive this section.. Sorry for the confusion.

This section will be there atleast till the reruns are there.. 😆 😆 😆 So enjoy the show..
