Preparations are on for Jassi's hospital stay. Amrit and Ila bustle around, packing this or that, while Jassi sits on her bed and watches them wistfully. Armaan looks as forlorn as a little boy on his first day of school.
When the others go out for a minute, he takes down his own suitcase from the top of the cupboard and starts stuffing his clothes into it. Jassi exclaims, "Armaan, tum sachmuch mere saath……"
Armu: (grimly) Toh tumhe kya laga….main mazaak kar raha tha? (comes over and grips both her hands, possessively😉) ……Jassi I'm serious…..main tumhare bina yahaan nahi rukne wala…!
Jassi: Par ghar ke log….kya kahenge…..?
Armu: (shaking his head in exasperation) Unhe main convince kar lunga…..lekin main town aa raha hun, and that's final…!
He looks defiantly at Ila and Amrit as they enter, and exits without a word. Ila shakes her head knowingly. " Main jaanti hun…..Armaan tumhe follow karte hue town zaroor jayega……just make sure, Jassi, ki wo apni packing theek se kar le…..pata nahin kahaan rukega, wahaan kaisi facilities hongi….."
Amrit: (looking nervously at the door) Behnji, Armaan abhi baahar hai….kal ki saari tayarian Jassi ko bata dete hai……
Ila: Right…..Jassi beta, Chaman aur Nandu gaon ke grocery shop tak gaye hai….shaayad kal tak cake ke intezaam ho sake……lekin hume kuch aur bhi karna hoga….
Amrit: Bebe toh sooji ka halwa banaa rahi hai…..Armaan ko pasand hai na….
Bua: (stealing in) Aur main kal subah-subah kachauriyan banaa doongi…..saath mein chhole bhi….!
Jassi looks a bit overwhelmed to hear all this. Bua looks at her in concern. "Kya hua beta…..agar pakvaan kam lag rahe ho toh hum aur banaa sakte hai…."
Jassi: Nahin Buaji……mujhe toh lag raha hai ki hum bahut zyada kar rahe hai!
Ila: I think Jassi is right….Armaan ke itni heavy dishes banaane ka koi faayda nahin hai……hume yeh sochna chahiye ki usse entertain kaise kare……I mean…..koi music, koi party…..
Amrit : Lekin samdhan ji, yahaan toh bijli ka koi bharaosa nahin rehta….hum gaane-bajaane ka program bhi kaise kare…..aur Jassi waise bhi dance nahin kar sakti…..aur hum thehre boodhe…..!
(Ila looks a little taken aback at this!😆)
Jassi: Aap log samajh nahin rahe hai…..Mamma, Mom, Buaji…..Armaan ka yahaan pind mein pehla aur shaayad aakhri birthday hai….hume isse special banana chahiye……kuch aisa karke joi Mumbai mein nahin ho sakta….!
The others look expectantly at her. She leans forward and tells them her plan.
That night, Armaan looks around hopefully at the others after dinner. There seems to be nothing out of the ordinary. Billu merely raises his head and asks, "Kal subah jaldi uthna hai….yaad hai na sabko…..Jassi ne hospital jaana hai…."
Vedika looks at her Armaan papa with bright eyes, obviously bursting with the secret, but Jassi warns her with her eyes not to say anything. Armaan pouts and walks off to his room. "Kisi ko yaad nahin…..aur kal Jassi bhi hospital mein admit ho jayegi….koi mujhme interested hi nahin hai…..humph!"
When Jassi comes in, she sees him lying on the bed, quite clearly awake but not in a mood to talk. She lies down next to him and puts her hand on his. "Good night Armaan!"
Armu: (taking her hand and kissing it sadly) Good night Jassi…….
As she closes her eyes, she thinks, "Armaan, iss waqt shaayad tumhe lag raha hai ki koi tumse pyaar nahin karta……lekin kal dekhna, tumhara ye khayaal kitna galat saabit hota hai……I love you Armaan!"😳
