Over here in UK, people come and compliment me and say what a good tan I have and complain that no matter how much they sun-bathe, they never manage to get a tan like the Indians. They either end up looking as red as a lobster or orange 😆

On a more serious note, i want to share something that really affected me sometime back. This was about 5-6 years back when I had gone to Italy for a Roman Holiday 😉 We did the usual sight-seeing and most of the stuff that tourists do. Then on the very last day of our stay, we went to a church. It looked a little different and dark from the rest of the churches in Rome. I was horrified when I entered the church to find that the entire place - the pillars, the walls, the cross, the roof, the grotto - every single thing in that church was made of skull and bones. I quickly made my exit.

As i left the church, i noticed something in Latin written over the door. I asked someone to translate it for me. It simply said - ONCE WE TOO WERE LIKE YOU!!! It was such a sobering thought. I cannot tell you how in that one instant I sort of grew up. It hit me that no matter how beautiful we may look, no matter how fair of skin we may be, one day, we all will just be skull and bones. It will just be our deeds that will be left behind 😊

Wow Hansa, that's frightening just because it's morbid. How old would those remains be and whose were they? 😕 Creepy, but good message regardless.

It was extremely morbid jasmin. I guess that's why that message had such an impact on me and has stayed with me ever since.

Those remains must have been hundreds or even thousands of years old 🤢 It was really spooky. And as i do not watch horror shows and stuff like that, i was really taken aback.

OMG, i can understand how eerie and chilling those bones would have looked....but such ghoulish stuff unnerve us and thus the message is undying.....when i visit rome the next time, i'll make it a point to visit this church😊......i might get all spooked up but there's a thrill😳...and more importantly, the message that the church aims to send out would be well received and etched in the mind😃

OMG Hansa di, that incident spooked me out! But something like this is needed to drive home the message to people who base their judgement on shallow considerations like skin colour.

How i wish SS could be made to visit that church! 😈 She would probably panic and run out screaming, "Chonuuuuuuuuuuuu!" 😕 😆
Well, she deserves that for spooking out the entire unit of JJKN by her frequent "ghostly appearances!" 😆 😆 😆

On a more serious note, it really bugs me when people make their prejudices so blatant. 😡 Most of us carry some prejudice or the other, but are secretly ashamed of it and try to moderate our views in public, if for nothing else then for appearance's sake. That is what separates us normal people from the fascists and the fanatics.Maybe we are being hypocritical, but at least this way we TRY to keep our minds open to positive attitude change.

People like SS who brazenly flaunt their prejudices are the kind of people who will never even WANT to change, coz they think they are perfect as they are. 🤢 I am beginning to have serious doubts about whether SS is "normal" or not. 😕 I pity her kids, because she will probably brainwash them with her own narrow and chauvinistic views, and while she has been very very lucky in life, her kids may find that they are not so lucky and that their prejudices are costing them dear.
