I think Samir Soni is also punjabi, his hindi also has a little punjabi touch .

Yes, Jassi is a Punjabi in the real life.

I remember reading one of her interviews where she mentioned that she goes to the Gurudwara everyday. Sameer is a Punjabi too.

Singh doesn't necessarily mean Punjabi. Sikhs use Singh in their last name along with another name eg. Samir Singh Soni for a sikh name. But women are usually Kaurs. Rajputs from Bihar use Singh as a last name by itself.
