Ravi Dubey takes inspiration from Govinda to play double role!
The actor plays two contrasting characters a la Chi Chi in Zee TV's Jamai Raja

Ravi Dubey has won hearts of both critics and the viewers alike with his impeccable performance as Sidhartha Khurana in Zee TV's popular show Jamai Raja. Known to surprise viewers with multiple looks, the talented actor is currently seen in an exciting double role of Raghu, a mechanic in the show! Ravi dons an all-new tapori avatar and attitude as Raghu, adding a new dimension to this character! A complete departure from the sophisticated and stylish business tycoon Sid, Raghu is a raw, street smart, impulsive man from a chawl!
To play his first double role with perfection, Ravi is taking references from his favorite Govinda. The current track shows a car mechanic, who is a look alike of the male protagonist Sid, stepping into the latter's shoes after his death.
Ravi Dubey says "When I got to know that I have to play the character of Raghu mechanic, I wanted to ensure that even though it's the same person playing the two parts, he looks different while playing the two characters. I had to maintain a distinct difference between Raghu & Sid interms of their look, body language, dialect, behavior and yet make Raghu's character endearing for the viewers. So the creative team and I discussed about every aspect of Raghu's character on how to make this character look different in its presentation. Contrary to the sophisticated, polished and soft spoken Sid, Raghu belongs to a chawl and talk in a tapori language. I have always been a huge Govinda fan, and for this role, I am drawing inspiration from him. In his film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, he played two roles-one a thug and other one a cop- but he enacted both the roles differently!"
Adding further he says "We incorporated a lot of things right from changing his complexion... adding a UP dialect... wearing tattooes & accessories and above all chewing pan, I have tried to push the envelope to make Raghu's character stand out. It is quite challenging to keep switching constantly between two characters, but that's what gives you an edge and drives you to perform better as an actor. Interestingly, all this was incorporated in a short span of time so there was not much time to prepare but I am happy that my hard work has paid off! I am overwhelmed by the encouraging response from the viewers and my fans."
Will Raghu disguised as Sid be able to reveal Shabnam's ulterior motives or does she have some tricks up her sleeve once again... to know all this keep watching Jamai Raja from Monday-Saturday 8:30om only on Zee TV.
