Part 21
Roshni enters her apartment slightly flushed. She stops suddenly seeing Sam crying and running to her bedroom. DD sits down looking tensed. She walks upto her mother.
"What happened to Sam, Mom?" she asked anxiously.
"We just told her about Rajveer. She is upset that she was played by him." said Nani.
"Oh! I should go and talk to her." said Roshni and moves towards the room.
"No beta, she wants to be left alone! Talk to her tomorrow, okay?" said DD and frowns.
"Ok, Mom. Now what happened?" she asked and sits on her knees beside her mother.
"We have so much work to do and so less time!!" she shoots.
"What work?" asked Roshni confused.
"Teri Shaadi!! 3 days are left for the marriage functions to start and then we have to shift in our old house too before that! We have to book a place for the functions; we have to buy clothes, jewellery..!! Maa, how will we do so much of work!!" said a frenzied DD.
"Mom!! Relaxx!! We don't have to do a grand wedding!! I am already married if you remember!" said Roshni.
"How can we not have a grand wedding? I never blessed you previously, but this time I will!!" she smiled and caressed her daughter's face.
"Ok I will agree with you only in one condition! I want to get married in our own house." she smiled back.
"Done!!" said DD and kissed her temple.
Roshni places her head on her mother's lap and hugs her. Nani thanks God for bringing such happiness in her household.
"Mom!! You don't have to work much!! Aapka Jamai hai na!! He will manage everything!" said an excited Roshni and smiles mischievously. She takes out her phone and calls Siddharth.
"Roshni what are you-" starts DD but Roshni puts her hand up and asks her to stop. Siddharth does not pick up her call. Roshni frowns and makes a face.
"Why isn't he picking up my phone?" she said.
"So gaya hoga beta!" said DD.
"Mom!! Uska phone busy aa raha hai! He is talking to someone and he isn't picking up MY call !!" said Roshni furiously. She calls him up 4-5 times. Each time her anger increased. She goes to her bedroom in rage.
DD looks at Nani and rolls her eyes and says, "Kids!!"
Roshni was packing her stuff and kept looking at her phone after every 5 seconds. She kept cursing and mumbling while doing so.
"I will not leave him. What does he think of himself? Mera phone nahi uthaega? MERA!! With whom is he talking so much that too at this time of the night! I shouldn't have agreed to live apart till marriage..."
After 20 minutes
"Should I call at home? Shall I call him again? Nahi!! Why will I call him! If he doesn't care for me why should I!!" she says to herself and sits on the chair frustrated.
Instantly her phone rings. It was Siddharth. She does not pick up and let it ring.
"This is your punishment!" she said out loud.
He calls her again. Unable to resist the urge to speak to him she picks up the call.
"Hi. I am sorry, Roshni! Actually I was busy with -" he gets cut off by her.
"I don't want to hear any excuses Siddharth. We just got separated and it's not even been more than a couple of hours and you have already started ignoring me! Who were you talking to?" she scolds him.
"Baby, you have no idea what happened! I was -"she again cuts him off.
"Stop beating about the bush. Just answer my question! Who were you talking to at this time of night?" she persists.
"Pich! Ok, I was talking to Kiara, she was in my school and she is -"
THE PHONE WAS BLANK. Roshni had cut the call after hearing the girl's name.
Siddharth hits the phone on his face. He looks up and says,
"Siyape karne se baaz nahi aaoge aap! Ufff.. she didn't even let me complete the sentence!! I can't wait till tomorrow morning to tell her the truth, she will not sleep the whole night and her anger will rise to a really bad level by tomorrow! Mini volcano se Mega volcano na ban jaye!"
He turns to leave and sees his mom standing on the door.
"Mom, woh-" he started.
"I heard. Tujhe jana hai na? Toh jao.." she said and smiled. His mother's eyes were still puffy from crying so much. He comes and hugs his mother and caresses her hair.
"Mom! Don't worry, Kritika just need time. She will be fine. Think like this that she was relieved from a really bad life." He kisses her forehead.
"Thank you, beta." she replied and kisses his forehead.
"What did you say?Thank you? Maa aapne toh do shabd mein hi mujhe paraaya kar dia" he teases and pretends to remove tears from his eyes.
Simran chuckles and hits him on his shoulders and tells him to go!
Roshni's Room
Well her hubby or you can say the to-be-hubby was right. She was fuming with anger. She came out from the bathroom after taking a bath. Her hair was wet, and she wore her favourite pink night suit. She stood in front of the mirror and started drying her hair with the towel. Someone hugs her from back and before she could shriek in astonishment he held her mouth and shushed her. Her wet hair tingled on his face, he closes his eyes to inhale its smell, and before he knew it, he sneezed aloud which made him leave his hold on her.
"Ugh!! What did you do Siddharth! I just took a bath!!" she yelled.
"Shhh.. Koi jag jaega!! Meri firecracker dheere se baat karo! Dande parwane hai kya Sasumom ke?" he whispered.
Roshni gives a fierce look to him and cleans her face.
"That was totally your fault! Itni ghatiya shampoo lagaogi toh aisa hi hoga! Yuckk!" he shivers with disgust remembering the smell.
"Strawberry ki smell hai! What is wrong with you?!" she asks incredulously.
"Eww Strawberry!! I am allergic to them!" he replies making a ghastly face.
"Why have you come here, Siddharth? We are supposed to stay apart.. and it looks like you are enjoying yourself.. freedom jo mil gayi hai!! Toh go! Enjoy!!" she says aloud.
"Uffo Roshni!! Without knowing the entire truth how can you say -" he AGAIN gets cut off by her murderous glare.
He rubs his hand on his hair with frustration. Without wasting another second, he strides towards her and makes her sit on the bed while closing her mouth with his hand. She hesitates and hits him on his chest, but he pins down both her hands at her back.
"Kiara is Dr. Kiara !! She is a psychiatrist!!" he said hurriedly before she could scream and hit him further.
"Doctor?? Psychiatrist? Why did you call a... What happened?" she asked with concern.
"Apni pagal biwi ke treatment ke baare mein discuss karne ke liye!!" he teases.
"Batao na!! Get serious!" she pouts.
"Woh.. actually.. " he sits down on the bed beside her.
"Kritika ke liye" he exhales out and looks at her.
"What? Kritika ne kuch kia kya?" she asked in alarm.
"There is nothing to worry now.. After you left, I got a call from mom. Kritika was trying to cut her veins when Dad saw her. She was saved, at the right moment. She howled and struggled a lot but Mom and Dad managed the situation and calmed her down. A doctor had come and he suggested that Kritika is really traumatized with the situation. She needs help to recover and suggested to hire a psychiatrist... Kiara is a well-known Doctor and so I had called her up for help." he said.
"Oh my God! Kritika tried to kill herself? And you are telling me that there is nothing to worry about!! I should meet her na? Can I meet her?" she asked worriedly.
"Off-course you can meet her! Why are you asking for my permission? But not now, she needs time and she will not like anyone sympathizing with her at this stage. Maybe after few days!" he replied.
"No, you are right. But please keep me informed about her condition. So when is the doctor coming for the first session?" she asked.
"Kiara will come at home tomorrow.. so I am taking an off from office work!" he replied and laid down at the bed with a smile on his face.
Roshni kept looking at him and his cool behavior.
"You are very excited to meet her?" she asked in an annoyed tone.
"Yeah I am! It has been so long.. you know Roshni we were kind of best friends in school. But then she went in another stream and I went to London for further studies so we lost touch. When I came back to India, I was surprised to know that she had become a full-fledged doctor here in Mumbai. She was always good in studies and - " he finally notices Roshni's face which made him stop mid-way.
Anger was piercing through her eyes. Her nails were digging onto the bed sheet and she was struggling to suppress the brewing jealousy inside her. This made Siddharth beam and he was enjoying it. So he pretended not to notice her and continued with his teasing,
"Haan toh I was saying, she was the prettiest girl in our school.. all guys were after her.. but they were scared to approach her you know, I was always by her side.. we used to eat together, go out for movies and even had study sessions at home! You know as far as I remember she even had a crush on me and she was the first girl with whom I - "
Well he asked for what happened next! While he was murmuring these aloud Roshni had got up and grabbed the pillow. Before he could continue he was smacked not once but hundreds of times by it on every part of his body.
"ROSHNIII!!" he shrieked.
SMACK!! SMACK!! SMACK!!
"Yaar Roshni main mazaak kar raha - "
SMACK!! SMACK!! SMACK!!
Roshni throws the pillow aside and comes near him. She puts both her hands around his neck and holds it lightly and says,
"First girl with whom you WHAT?" she asked in exasperation.
"Jaldi batao Siddharth warna I will strangle you to death right now!!" she said in fury.
Siddharth starts laughing aloud as he couldn't control it any longer. Roshni kept looking at him unbelievingly. She applied a little pressure around his neck which finally made him speak up,
"First girl with whom I... I... you know.. I.. became friends!" he breaks down in hysterics.
Roshni pouts with annoyance and loosens her grip on his neck. Before she could remove her hands from him he catches hold of her and pulls her near him, making her fall on him completely. He was fascinated with her charm, her unkempt wet hair fell on his face and he was completely lost in her beauty. He raises his hand and caresses her cheek. She savored his touch on her skin by closing her eyes. Slowly he puts her strewn hair behind her ears to see her face clearly. The other hand which was in her waist slowly moved upwards pulling her closer. He leans forward to her ears and whispers,
"You are my first in everything Roshni and you will be my last. You look dazzling.. I love you so much."
She smiles and opens her eyes. She raises her hands and caresses his cheek. Slowly she moves towards his ears and she finally pulls them hard.
"OUCH!!" he whimpered and immediately puts his hand on top of hers to make her stop.
"What was that for?" he asked unbelievingly.
"That was for putting me through your nautanki." She smiled back impishly.
"Abh, mujhe kya pata tha ki tum itni jealous ho jaogi Kiara ke baare mein sunkar! Well woh waise hai bhi -"
"Will you stop now! I don't wanna hear anything about her anymore!" she replied irritably.
"Okay!! Waise gusse mein bari totta lagti ho!!" he said and rubs his nose against hers making her blush.
"You have said that before." was the only response she could think of looking at his lip nearing hers.
He leans forward and kissed her, slowly and reverently. He pulls her closer to his body and her hands rose up in his hair. She winds her finger on his hair and tugs it tight. In that moment neither of them moved nor they breathed, it was a kiss that they both wanted desperately. While kissing her, he rolls on the bed along with her so that he could be on top of her. They parted their kiss for the much needed air. Roshni flushes and smiles; looking at him bending towards her neck she closes her eyes. Just at that moment, Siddharth gets distracted with a sudden movement on the bed. He looks up to see what it was, he was rather surprised! He nudges her from his elbows, which makes Roshni open her eyes and look at him questiongly. He was not looking at her but somewhere in front. He whispers,
"Get up!! Roshni, don't scream when you see it, warna Sasumom saparivaar ke saath tapak parengi yaha!! Uthooo!!"
Roshni looks upwards in the direction where he was looking at.
"AAA" she screeched loudly and pushes him so that she could get up from the bed. She runs towards the sofa and stands on top of it still shrieking. Siddharth hits his head with his hands and comes near her.
"Arre, Roshni relax! It is just a cockroach!! I will...I will...throw it right away!" he said a little unsure himself.
The screams had finally woken up the Patel household. Everyone comes running inside her room; stunned to see Siddharth there and Roshni jumping on the sofa.
I hope i fulfilled a part of your wishes of seeing a jealous Roshni in this update.😆 Really looking forward to your comments on this part now 😳 And yes, the ending scene is inspired by our CVs.. sorry for that.. but i will add my own ways in it to make it entertaining!! 😛
