"Please tell me you brought diamonds!" Ragini was messing with him.
Nachiket settled down on the rug again with his iPad and a shopping bag.
"How did you know I was going to buy diamonds?" Nachiket replied back. Ragini thought he was speaking the truth, "What? Why are you spending so much on me? We discussed this. I told you I don't want any jewellery for a long time now!"
"Calm down, Ragini. Mazak kar raha tha. Nhi laya koi jewellery main." He took out a chocolate box from the bag and handed it to her. "Bachon k lie lia tha.. hamare lie bhi le lia.. khao.. kuch dikhana h iPad mein.."
Ragini made space for him to sit and opened the box of chocolates, unwrapped the cover of one chocolate ball and fed him. Nachiket meanwhile opened a website of a hospital.
"The people who have Soul Care hospital chain in US are planning to enter the Indian Market. They called me today and want me to buy the Indian hospital that they are planning in Mumbai. I'll be getting it at a price lower than the market price because of my reputation and relationship with them. What do you think? Should I buy it?"
Ragini had a big smile on her face, "Buy it! Why are you asking me? You're going to be great!"
Nachiket was relieved. He smiled and said, "I want you to run it," The smile on Ragini's face gave way to confusion, "And teach Ranbir," he finished.
"Why should I run it? You should run it. And Ranbir is a doctor. He needs to concentrate on being that" Ragini was confused.
"I am a doctor too, Ragini. A surgeon. I want to do surgeries. If I know you are handling everything else, I'll be able to save more lives." Ragini tried to understand what he was saying. He continued, "And Ranbir handled the Soul Care hospital deal. He was good. If we both teach him, he'll be able to do both. What do you think?"
Ragini eyes were moist and when she spoke, Nachiket had to strain his ears to listen, her voice was barely audible, "I'd love to do it, Nachiket. I've missed on spending time with Ranbir. I'd like nothing else but for him to succeed. And if I can help in any way, I'd be grateful. And I love you!" And then she hugged him while sitting on the rug, tears of happiness streaming down her face.
