I understand that anger part of Arnav when he thought Khushi might have been harmed. I remember when my kids were smaller and this goes for my husband too, how angry I felt when they got sick. I think I was able to mask it while caring for them. But behind my hidden unprovoked anger was anxiety that something would happen to one of them.

My mother always wanted me to fulfill her dream of being a nurse. Little did she know what a totally unsuitable profession that would have been for me.

btw, I once for fun did a research (I swear I am not a nerd) and came up with some interesting insights. I wanna share in case someone wants to read 🙈🙈

There was a direct link between internet availability (thanks to jio) and boom of OTT platforms. There was a massive shift of audience and standalone small shows, which is how OTT grew in india, set up the expectations really high.

Also, OTT shows were not as regulated as prime time tv shows and as learntowrite pointed out, no more interference from channels. It allowed them to dive into much more subtle and serious topics. If you compare the first TV shows that aired in india, you will see a surprising similarity.

Even back then, country was going through a shift. Women were coming out to work more and more. DD national had tv shows which today’s show makers would not dare touch with a 10 foot pole. A married woman wanting divorce just because she wasn’t happy and fighting her whole family and society for her rights. Another one diving into intricacies of older women finding love. Basically, only educated audience had tv and they were being catered with intelligent shows.

Now, majority of people have moved to OTT. TVs massive audience are people who do not have access to anything else and by demographic, pardon my language, they enjoy dumb shows.

Please note that I am not saying educated women/men who watch these shows are dumb. I’m stating the fact that they’re not the target audience anymore. They are being served what TV makers are intending for the absolute newbies and a much much more illiterate audience from very backward places.

So we may call them names for making shows like naagin but the truth is they’re making money. TV producers are not worried about how their dumb content is affecting audience or what are they teaching them. It’s just a cash machine now and they’re going to show no logic (I have seen them defy physics now openly) whatsoever. The audience demanding good and intelligent content is sitting online.

In coming years, this will also change when the current TV demographic will move t OTT. the shows will again start fan servicing instead of being true to good content. We’re the lucky generation that enjoyed the near best of TV and absolute peak of OTT content. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Edit - I also want to point out that the OTT audience is also filtrated now. There are web series which I’m sure are p*rn masquerading as a show. Again, none of them would be on major platforms. At least as of now, thankfully

Did not know that !

There are few really old movies that were before their time. That dealt with infidelity or issues in marriage.

I realized I had started writing 3 different new stories back in 2016, 2 light hearted young Arshi and third again was with Sheetal but a very different take... Khushi refuses to adopt Arav, angsty one.

I have written around 18, 8 and 5 chapters and no idea maybe kids made me super busy and real world forced me to take a back seat...

My obsession became Sheetal after seeing how shit was that phase for the IPKKND.

4th one, I thought about La coming back but very different from Arpita where Khushi ends up cheating - I don't know if I will ever be able to do justice to this one..

If I quit my job which I have in the plans, maybe I will think but I am not that great in story building, I tend get very pragmatic and my real world is crazy busy so I don't know...

Or I will share and ask someone to finish these... I have seen few girls written stories in group and they were so good..
