So to me as reader when I read Payal talking about Khushi not being able to move on from him..it is a one sided feeling..(the man has moved on)..to make him feel guilty.

Yes fits Payal characterization..but what is the point.

It was good for Khushi (the separation) like he says...did he ever bother to talk to her? No. She is a 10 year old and he took decision for her.

What kind of warped logic does he have?

Regarding Khushi being traditional and old school. Is it because she thought it was for forever? Most folks do..no one ties the knot thinking it will not work out. Not sure I understand the point you are trying to make here

Arnav and his thought process for the divorce is for the coming chapters, so I would not comment on that.

Everyone ties the knot thinking it’s forever. Me pointing out to Khushi’s traditional and old school thought is that divorce is not something that would ever cross her mind. Payal loved Akash too, but if things ever go south to extreme extent, she is someone who would want to split (rightly so).

Khushi the character, doesn’t bear this thinking. In prologue alone Arnav thought for her it meant promises of seven lifetimes. That a woman doesn’t leave her husbands house till death. She is THAT old school according to Payal and Arnav who have known her for a decade. And in that sense, Payal’s question and Arnav’s musings were justified. That she most likely will not be able to move on. My point was regarding Payal’s remark and the thought behind it.

Not sure what exactly it is about this story that you can't just shake it off your mind. Never have I been so invested in a fanfic, as much as I have with this one. Can't believe I've also been reading the comments/discussion that follow every chapter. This is a first. And might I say that it does allow me to view the scenarios from different perspectives. Arpita, you definitely have penned down a masterpiece!

As many of us here, my heart just goes out to Khushi. Probably because it's a woman's heart. For the person that she was 10 years ago, to what circumstances have made her now. Hollow. The earlier chapter from Khushi's POV, where she has her breakdown before devi maiya, she mentions she's given hope for her request, dangling before her for a while only it have it snatched away. She asked for Arnav and the same has happened. The girl probably has given up on the goddess as well at this point in time. She has nothing to hold onto but herself. But she's got a long way to course through before she experiences healing. It's her soul that's crushed at this moment. I've read many comments saying that she should move on, get a better man and have a family. But I do feel this Khushi would still question the practicality of that scenario. So far the better man/husband that she has known has been Arnav for say suppose 9 long years. And it took 9 years of time after which this relationship went down. Even if she does find a better man, she would have doubts (given her current state of mind), how long until the new relationship goes down as well? The wound that Arnav has given her, it would heal with time maybe. But it will surely leave a scar behind. She is always going to second guess herself when it comes to love.

The woman has been total grace and poise. Knowing of Arnav's infidelity and keeping it to herself for months! Not letting it out into the open. She probably knew how this news would impact Arnav's business but mostly I feel she didn't bring it up because Arnav admitting to cheating on her would just break her (she does think on these lines in the latest chapter). The 10 year anniversary party was her dangling hope and the pictures she received, had it snatched away. It's only until so long that she could hold onto the grace and poise. The showdown between Arnav and Khushi is what I'm looking forward to. Although, I'm sure it's going to be heartbreaking but I'd like Khushi to question him, demand for answers and get answers. And Arnav should give them to her. That's the least he could do for everything that he has put her through.

Arnav is a total different subject here. As many have pointed, he has been the only one out of character. In the earlier chapters he states that Khushi was behaving out of character post the divorce subject. But we now know that she just wasn't. She was merely doing what she did because of what she knew.

For the astute businessman that Arnav is, he surely lacks communication skills on the personal front. We know where he gets that trait from now. Like father like son. I do understand that parents at times can push their children over the edge. The pressure that was probably on their heads must have been quite unbearable for Arnav and Khushi's differences to grow beyond measure. Khushi too had let her insecurities get in the way. But it could have still been salvaged had they talked it out. And when I say they, it's both Arnav and Khushi. It takes two to tango. Even when Arnav asked Khushi to leave him alone, she could have probably tried having a conversation, been a little open about her fears on the growing distances between them. Given him the headache he said he'd have if she stays up waiting for him. It wouldn't have costed her this heartache if the situation was controlled at the beginning.I do feel Arnav would have listened to her. He hadn't given any signs of not considering her thoughts earlier (if I remember correctly) before things went from bad to worse.

Having said that there's no way that Arnav's infidelity is justified. Him getting involved with Lavanya was just wrong. Period! Even if the woman was onto him, he could have stopped her advances. Even if it was a moment of weakness. He giving into that was him turning his back on his marriage. He must have known the repercussions. How his cheating would affect his wife. A wife like Khushi. What made him not have an ounce of thought about her before giving into temptations? My guess, he may have found a friend in Lavanya. The actress that she is, would have jumped to the opportunity of being the perfect friend, confidant that he required when Khushi was away in Lucknow handling his family. I feel like he was holding onto a grudge against Khushi for running off to Lucknow and leaving him 3:1 with their opinions. His 'loneliness' allowed him to talk to Lavanya about his situation. The woman probably then pushed him into believing that he was being cornered and it wasn't fair on their part to do that to him. Must have also mentioned how she feels suffocated with Manali just hovering over her, telling her what she should and shouldn't do. Wouldn't be surprised if Lavanya had been feeding him with the non-sensical thoughts so that she could bond with Arnav better by convincing him that their situations were similar. However, Arnav's no child to give into those. But he probably did. His changed behaviour towards Khushi the last few months before the divorce is just him being crass. Khushi too mentions feeling lonely. The girl had no one to reach out to, the few days before the anniversary. So she tried to reach out to the only person she trusted with her life just to be mocked so brutally in the end. Post the divorce proceedings, she thought she could lean onto her family in Umanagar only to be disappointed by them as well. But Khushi knows that she can reach out to people who she knows/thinks love her. The said people supporting her is another discussion. My point being, she tries to reach out. Arnav on the other hand, as far as from what I remember reading, hasn't really reached out to anyone close (family/friend) when things were getting bad. Instead, he chose Lavanya.

Even if I try, I cannot bring myself to sympathize with this Arnav yet. I cannot understand him and his thought process that lead him to take such actions. Maybe the next chapter will put some light on that. You said Arnav-Lavanya 'saga' and that just makes me a little wary of what this holds. I don't know how he's going to disclose it all to Khushi. But if he does want to work on his marriage (not just out of guilt but genuinely out of love if it still exists) then he should now be ready to move heaven and earth for her. The one thing that struck me while reading the previous chapter was when he said to Khushi that he wouldn't have gone ahead with the divorce if he knew that it would break her to this extent. What was he planning to do then? Keep mum about what he has been doing behind her back, carry on living life like Lavanya never happened?

Another thing I notice is that Aakash isn't stopping Arnav from reaching out to Khushi and wanting him to have another shot with this marriage even though Aakash did say that he hasn't completely forgiven Arnav for his deeds. Arnav has shared with Aakash of what he has done. So does that mean that Arnav is still redeemable to a little extent? Or is Aakash just trying to be a friend to Arnav?

The photographs. I do feel like at this moment it's only Lavanya who feels like she can gain the most personally from having Khushi see those photos. The woman has been obsessed with Arnav for years. Manali also was seen asking Lavanya of why she did what she did. Could it be that Lavanya now just doesn't care about her career and all she wants is Arnav for herself? And in sending Khushi the photos, she feels like it would fast track the divorce process? I can't think of anyone else who can benefit from Arnav and Khushi's separation, besides Lavanya or Manali.

I'm unsure if I have articulated my thoughts here well enough. I have so many things running in my mind regarding different scenarios but this is what I could come up with having so many muddled thoughts.

Great job Arpita!

Can't wait until the next chapter is up. Until then, I guess I'll be reading away the discussion here.

😊

After reading whole chapter and all the comnents— there is nothing left for me to say. I am staying quite but showing my reaction in between. I am sorry Arpita as I am not writing a long comment. I tried but really really hard as it will be an essay if I get to it. Moreover I don’t have anything new as most of your readers have already said what I wanted to say. I am quite emotional like pujakrishna and crying even without active participation in this story. This tells you the beauty of the writing.I always want to say “ditto “ to all the comments written by swastarshi.🥳🥳

All I want to say is that Kushi is an epitome of love, affection, loyalty, and grace. Bad times are always a biggest learning lesson and I just want her to come out of it and be independent. Love is not enough , you definitely need respect and trust with commitment in a marriage along with love. I think she can be happy eventually with a nice man who loves her along with respect and trust, but that should be her decision however, I don’t think I want to see her with Arnav now at all but that’s just me . I do not understand this Arnav. He is too full of himself.

I will never cut a slack to this Arnav no matter what, and I’m going to skip the next chapter because it doesn’t matter how the relationship developed between him and Lavanya and what happened. To me ultimately he cheated and that’s all.

His dad said right because parents always know their children that he always runs away even though he tries to rectify his running away from the problem in another way, and same thing he did, when there was a problem in his marriage.

At this point, I only care for Khushi’. I want her to come out of this trauma and live her life with peace, and happily, which definitely will take time and like many of your other reader, Certainly I would be happy to see her, married with children with someone else as she is traditional, and these things will give her happiness, but not at the cost of her independence. Her independence is the primary thing here rest other things are just our imagination.

🙏🙏

Was the family trying to uphold charity even though they could not afford it any more? If they were doing this for the sake of appearances and the burden went to Arnav to pay off loans, he had a right to be upset. But later Arnav himself supported their cause when he had the money.

Arvind distanced his son for far too long in his ego. A son who did everything he could for the family. When mothers get caught in the middle of these fights it's very painful for them. They can't let either side go.

Lavanya and/or Manali did leak the pictures to her. Quite deliberately and with such sadistic intentions. They deserve going down.

Is there a possibility it could be someone else? Who though? Someone who wanted her to know?

We were right about the fact that she felt insecure of her place in those parties. But why not go on those annual trips? Was she ever asked to go? Did she decline? Why? These trips would have been quite different from the glittery glamour world parties. Even if she was not a sporty person, she could have been there. These absences kept increasing the gaps between them.

Got it.😘 Arnav must be finally happy that he managed with his actions to get through her.

She is after all not that traditional agreeing to the divorce or maybe it was this fear of her traditional beliefs ..that is behind all his planning. He does think through all minute details.

Arpita, there is a lot of bias towards Arnav in some of your response, so I couldn't help but point! I understand hard working and responsible towards family etc. but close observations through the story clearly indicates he was selfish, demanding in a polite way and control freak who worked towards the goals that he assume were right! Being astute businessman, he read people well to use them to his advantage charmingly!

Example, you gave explanation about Anamika throwing his family past on his face during fight that broke them apart and we all agreed. But who started this? Agreed, Arnav informed Anamika about his family and financial conitions in advance but everytime she expected him to do something in the relationship, didn't he throw "I told you my situation so adjust/compromise" in her face? Have you ever give this a thought? Even if Anamika and he would have sorted their differences back then, they would landed at the same spot sonner than before since he never knew to compromise!

Even with Khushi he knew she had lowest expectations from him owing to her background and she woud adjust. When she spent 5000 to redo the house and bring it to livable condition, his first reaction is “This kind of splurge on comfort is not for people like us Khushi. Family comes first" Arnav said as guilt began to bubble in his chest. This money could have gone to the loan, to his dad’s store. He could have bought something nice for his mother or Anjali." So he is ok to buy nice things for his mom and sis while expecting his wife to adjust in a run down apartment??

He has always been the man of conditions with high handed decision making! Also you indicated ASR being arrogant and cocky in recent years! He had shown sign of narcissism right from the beginning but it got covered by Khushi's adjustments, unconditional love and compromises and the marriage worked for 10 years but the first time Khushi was adament about her desires, look what he did!

This ASR changes colors like a chameleon and becomes ultra traditional expecting his wife /gf to adjust for his responsibilties towards his family & support / compromise but modern enought to refuse baby for the traditional wife from a village hen this expectation was set by his own mother even before the marriage!

Also, he hasn't treated La well but she deserves it and I don't give a damn about her no matter how deep their affair was, that vile bitch is not worth talking for now at least!

I would rather stick to my original analysis of this ASR.. This guy is toxic and big time hypocrite too....

Ari - My purpose to reply you was to show Arnav had certain personality traits that reflect throughout including his aloofness, run away from the situation as his father mentioned, block communication, adamancy and control freak, decision making style expecting others to abide by.. And disrespecting their marriage, ill treating Khushi and affair was icing on the cake y Arnav!

Still Khushi made it work by her poised nature, simplicity and straight forward thiking, fresh and positive personality and adjusting with a smile and in return he was positive and nice to her too most times.. Khushi here has definitely done more compromise to make relationship work, being a house wife, village girl doesn't take it away from her! Men would die to get such a wonderful girl in their life!

You can continue to support Arnav, that's your choice and we completely respect that... You don't need to stop yourself from expressing, this is mature group and we all respect each other, my love for you girl!

Just realized there are four parts to the past. Next is Arnav I read. I am assuming third is Lavanya. Fourth is who ? Khushi maybe has a secret admirer 😉?

This is not a love story or a story of reconciliation. Maybe it is a story of new beginnings

Love your thought, I would take a handsome and rich guy from film industry who is head over heels love in Khushi and willing to give everything she deserves... I vote for new beginnings for Khushi after she gets some time to recoup, maybe study and start something for herself and be independent and he supports her while taking care of their kids! Tathastu!
