I can understand everything but infidelity? I understand the drifting apart and all but all that is making me MAD is the extramarital affair that he is so unbothered about. How easily he told lavanya any publicity is good publicity without thinking how will khushi feel if she comes to know it through media.

Bdw did you notice her manager mentioned "sleeping around with married MEN" plural, she do have a colorful history.

Is Arnav angry/frustrated that Khushi did not fight for her marriage?

I am guessing she knows about Lavanya. Maybe that's why she just agreed to separate without questioning him or their marriage.

Arnav might think he has saved more heartbreak by not telling about Lavanya. But she knows isn't it.

I guess the final straw was when he did not wish her on their anniversary. It is natural for anyone to hold on to some thin threads of hope till the end, and once that snaps, she just let go.

We still did not get any chapter from Khushi's POV. Are we getting one soon or later on?

The title is "Resurgence". I am wondering if it is - resurgence of Khushi (as a person)? Or resurgence about Arnav's personality? Frankly, for now, I have no hope of Resurgence in their marriage. But will keep an open mind about the idea you have in mind writerji.

Nice update.

We already know that Arnav was working long hours. The Kishore Kumar wanna be and Mahesh vouched for that.

Once they became rich, Khushi got busy with an NGO and Arnav got busier with movie making. Khushi may have gotten busy with both sides of the families too. She was in Lucknow for a long period of time when Aakash's story was filmed.

It looks like the couple got busy with their respective work commitments so much that they could not find time to spare for each other. Not having kids did not help the cause either.

If my theory is right, then I can understand the drifting apart bit.

Once decided, Arnav took his own sweet time to talk to Khushi about his decision, and when Khushi somehow found out his decision and displaying her emotions as she feels fit, he is not liking it one bit.

Arnav should know that only his own actions are in his hands not Khushi's reactions. If Khushi is not reacting the way he wanted then bad luck to him.

"Thank you for everything" - can mean something entirely different. Thank you for accepting to leave me without any fuss and delay so that I can go back to Lavanya. Thank you for not demanding for majority of my assets etc,. Is that what Khushi thought which made her flinch?

Arnav mentioned family couple of times. Is anyone else living with them in their house? How come no one from the family or even Payal and Aakash noticed the growing distance between them in the last so many months?

Will wait to know the answers.

Cheers..

thank you so much! 😊 Waited for this comment and as usual the analysis is bang on. Our struggling leads have good grounds to cover, delve in the familial side of things etc. we will be getting less and less of present glimpses and more of the nine years that went by. And hopefully this all makes sense in the end.

Thank you. Yes the title will play its role in due time and in multiple ways. This Khushi and Arnav have been estranged for some time, and Khushi had to snap one day. Even if it’s something as small as an anniversary wish that she foolishly hoped for.

Thanks for the complements both of you :) Again, sorry about the emotional mess.

Yes, the state of the marriage that you deduce from these texts is correct. It was indeed on the rocks. Our characters wouldn’t have separated so easily if their union wasn’t just as hopeless as you’ve correctly guessed. Now my main priority is to dive into their love story which in all honesty hadn’t even properly begun after a month of marriage:)

I felt choked reading this chapter. I had to step away in between and then come back to reading it in its entirety. I don't know what he was expecting when he asked for divorce. That she would rant and rave? Did he ever know her, in a way that she may have understood him? It looks like she always understood his need to work, to be away from home even if that came at the expense of their own relationship. It was good to see that he realized that his expectation of possible reactions was a way of assuaging his own guilt.

I feel for her and I also understand her need to break all threads including giving up the NGO that she had looked after like her own child, in his words. A clean break, to heal, to look forward, to pick up the threads of her life which was probably always at mercy of his schedule so to speak.

New reader alert..kizh72 recommend this and I just read the prologue.

Amazing writing. Clear and succinct and your words tells a lot about the characters.

Young rich businessman, producer married for 10 years to a traditional girl. Is in a unhappy marriage and is planning to divorce his wife. He may be having an affair with an actress but that is not the reason for divorce.

The above synopsis is for myself as I read the next few chapters 😘

As I ended reading chapter 1 the nagging question that stayed with me..if Arnav was so concerned about Khushi's hurt..then why not talk to her first about the divorce rather than talking to rest of the world.

Yes he has compromised in his life due to family circumstances. Yes he married a woman he did not want to because he could not disappoint his parents. It did not garner sympathy..struggles are not so uncommon.

What rankles is not his affair or he divorcing Khushi. It is the self love, the entitlement, the need that she finds out about Lavanya so he would not have to tell her about his infidelity. Will give you a "good alimony" was icing in the cake..a weak man who thinks no end of himself.

Unequal status in the relationship..wonder if Khushi has an independent income. Looks like she may not be financially independent!

Chapter 2.

Your writing is very visually descriptive and detailed. My earlier comment that struggles are not uncommon was a bit flippant. Living always away from home from a very young age and out of boxes must be hard. So Anamika broke up with him.

Both of them are sensible, understanding. Khushi who is even younger is yes cheerful and takes things on her stride. What is unique that she is also aware, caring and strives to make better dire circumstances. A very rare quality.

Somehow that quality of her stood out when she said that she also would want a no contest divorce. She did not question it..wonder why?

Guess he is having an affair with Lavanya.

Ps. Loved the work details too
