Now back to the question in discussion, it is evident that Arnav actually fell in love with Khushi ONLY after the kidnapping track. There is a strong reason for me to think so. For Arnav, love is another word for 'trust'. He says this later in an episode where Khushi is playing the word game with him (during Sheetal track).

Arnav never easily trusts people but when he does, he does it with full heart & soul, and the same happened with Khushi's case. I can't think of a better word than 'infatuation' so yes, when he was heading to the terrace for confession, I feel he was overtaken by infatuation towards Khushi, something which he never experienced... This strange feeling was too overwhelming for a man like ASR, and on top of that his sister's words provoked him to go confess his feelings.

And why he said that he fell in love with Khushi after marriage is because that is the truth. He fell in love with her only when he began trusting her wholeheartedly. During the kidnapping track he realized Khushi's innocence, selflessness... Gradually he began developing trust on her and that is when he recognized his true feelings for her.

The reasons to think that Arnav has more than infatuation or physical pull towards Khushi before the forced marriage are

1. Di had an accident and returned home with injuries. She was crying. She thought she almost lost her life and she will never be able to see her Chote again. She was frightened. Is it possible for Arnav to ignore his Di in that condition for just a mere attraction?

2. If he was not in love with Khushi, he would have made her disappear into thin air to save Di and her Rajkumari. He wanted to see her suffer because he thought she managed to enter into his heart and trampled it.

It is true, his feelings for Khushi have intensified during his abduction days.

Remember, he hurt Khushi again on the day by saying she was the biggest mistake of his life, when Anjali tried to abort the baby?

He accused her one last time when Khushi brought Shyam back, when Anjali staged a hunger strike drama.

As far as I remember, they had few arguments, but, Arnav never accused Khushi after that. Does that mean he only loved Khushi after that final accusation?

The other question is, does Arnav need to justify his closeness with Khushi?

Not really. She is his wife and what they do in the privacy of their room is entirely their business and if they hug or kiss in the living room when the family is supposed to be attending a Satsang is also their own business. First Mami and then Anjali made a big deal out of it. Didn't Shyam carry Anjali in front of the whole family to pacify her?

After Shyam was kicked out, Anjali can look for a shoulder to cry. But, she can't expect that shoulder to be available 24/7. The other thing is Shyam was kicked out because he cheated people. So, why would anyone stop living for a cheater? Their only concern was a pregnant Anjali and they did what ever they can to help her.

I dunno, we can look at this way too, one throws maximum temper tantrums, accusations with person or people one love the most. Arnav did that. I always felt words between these two are quite meaningless. It does not matter what they bark at one another their bond is beyond all. Remember the fight about Aarav? ASR will continue to accuse Khushi for his problems always. And Khushi couldn't care less. Its like this all the regular norms of a "couple" don't hold good for this crackpot couple. That is the baseline of their story, intense love with intense bickering too ! This is what I think dunno whether u agree
