prologue
Khushi put the last dish on the dining table and She smiled at everyone as she served them . She loved cooking and making something for in laws was a special thing for her. She has always thought about her how her married life would be ,like a normal middle class girl she thought of taking care of everyone in the family,doing normal household work. That was she was doing here .
She sat down as everyone started eating ,she glanced at her husband of two weeks who was eating silently . Salient - he has hardly spoken to her in past few weeks. Their marriage has happened so suddenly that they barely had time to court each other though she did try to talk him on occasion to ease off the nervousness , to get to know him personally and not just prejudice him from newspaper articles and magazines. But he hardly talked ,he is so introvert so opposite to her.
"Khushi,are you planning to join the Position of chef in this house" Arya questioned .She was not happy with sudden marriage of her brother that too such a small town girl.
Before Khushi can answer not really comprehending her sister-in-law's indirect taunt , Devyani shushed Arya. No matter what Khushi is this house daughter in law and she deserves equality and respect she has said.
Khushi knew that this marriage won't be easy and no matter what the difference between their status will always be brought forward .That was the reason she did not wanted to get married to Arnav but Payal her best friend who was marrying Arnav's brother Akash convinced everyone. Arnav's grandmother liked me in one look so that made payal's task easy though my parent's resisted for long but when all our relatives were held bent on saying that how luck I am to get married in such a rich household made their resistance go away.
She was always sceptical about this. No doubt marriage happens between different status people but they are love marriages. How am I supposed to live with a man who is not helping at all.
