lovely words.

how terribly well this brusque angry powerful man let us evince his vulnerability. and yet remained strong, invincible, and a bit hateful.

and she, so jhalli, so "simple", but she had a sophistication hidden in the pompoms, a knowledge.. yes, she knew everything, but she was not supposed to know... after that night of diwali, she always knew... matlab hai. perhaps our world is such, a girl can't scream back when what's patently wrong is flung at her, perhaps on that evening she could do nothing else for he had done so much... how lovely her, "aapko iss se kya faraq padta hai!"

their looks, their words, always wrapped around each other, connected and went farther than perhaps even the writer had thought... there was always a complete story almost in every exchange.

If 99/100 was a turning point for me in my ipk journey then 124 sealed the deal. Its an incredible episode, both of them so so good. The way he looks and emotes in those 10-15 minutes and there's this moment where she's looking at him with all that she feels and then sort of coming to her senses moves her gaze away. Outstanding stuff!

outstanding, really. sometimes i feel it's such a pity, because of the genre it belongs to it will never get the place it deserves, its creatives, its actors, never get the praise. how many things reach into us like this and shake us up. and about love, what has such ken.

you're right, every bit of those moments from when she comes back for the ring is fabulous. that asr nastiness in him, he has to get the better of her... the look when she says what do i have to do... and her helplessness, so perfectly contrasted. then the tears and the turning to puddle of the brute. the struggle with the ring (i just noticed a minor glitch in one of the shots hehe, so keenly was i gawking)... and then the revelation... the expressions on both their faces...

not too many things these days even dare to go this far into emotion. into all that we don't understand about ourselves. gosh, that wedding.

were you talking about this moment, when she stands at the door and turns to look at him with a strangely open and longing gaze, then she looks away and walks out? i loved this.

oh you guys are discussing the fark padhta hai track...I so agree about the actors being able to emote perfectly during the close ups...after ipk I have been an irregular follower of the production house's other shows too and find aspects in which those shows are better than ipk...but can any of those couples come close to arnav khushi after what these two did in those 4-5 episodes?

absolutely true, what you say. i can't believe no one wants to make another serial, a movie, something with these two.

This one was after she tells him about her engagement when she stands there looking at him going to pieces and this expression on her face, as if saying how did we get here? Need to do more research😆

the entire episode echoed her reluctance, helplessness, state of utter sadness rather beautifully. At some point, when she looked back, it almost felt she was pitying his obliviousness.. fearing how heavy that rather tiny looking ring would prove for both of them...

This is them.. in their bare bones... when their respective masks of anger and craziness peels off... a magnum opus in a few moments there..

pyaar mein dil pe maar de goli le le meri jaan.

was this very cool writing with tongue happily in cheek or was there no connection between the song and the state of one arnav singh raizada?

we'll never know since no one talks of ipk any more and even if they do, it's as if yeah, it was so long ago... but no harm in thinking they knew how the song works into the story and they gave a lot of thought to the design of the episode. it's 53. she is all movement and happiness and uncontrollable. i love the dance and the vibe. for the longest time never connected it to the last, almost last sequence.

in the middle, the very pretty, perfectly juxtaposed her sequence and his sequence over toot-ta tara, you couldn't miss the connection (and the point) even if you wished to. and all he sees is a locked door. a girl saying she is going.

was that the goli the heart took?

and now at night, he lies... so still, so deep, all that is uncontrollable is within. the bullet has found its mark it seems and there's a torture in its killing. tender sweet melody floats, a curtain billowing recalls a dupatta... how it touches him. memories come, softly, as if not to awaken anyone, just lie in him, stay there. a pensive, dark, elegiac scene.

nothing could be further from the loud, active, mimicry and mayhem filled scene of the one who has shot the goli.

i loved the contrast. and how happy she was, maybe because she had read isharas, which dm might not even have sent, and returned to delhi... not gone away hamesha ke liye. i liked the way, though dm was constantly referred to, we also saw that human action actually brought about things.

that silent reverie of his, the most subtle exploration of his disturbed state of mind, there was an actor who sensed beyond the brief. can an arrogant tycoon walk about in that state, thinking of a jhalli girl? of course not, the mind may say. but after this, the dil will laugh and say, if only you knew.

also smart was the way, she kept saying something good will happen tomorrow, and nani threw a spanner in the works of mami and anjali. yes, something would happen the next day. a sweet tightness to writing. the paralleling with shyamwa continued, he too thought of that locked door and suffered. asr stopped his gf when she tried to get closer... lovely, almost a rejection... his mind is full of another ladki. and i suppose he is not into sneaking around and catching stolen kisses. instead he is struck in the heart and barely breathing.

love has shot a bullet in the heart, has taken away my life.

she leaps and jumps and is inordinately happy.

he is still, silent, lost.

she's back, she's back, and tomorrow will bring good things.

she's gone, hamesha ke liye.
