Fantastic tribute!!! Every word rings a bell,, brings back memories,, brings back that haze in which I guess we r all trapped.. That was magic - that series, arshi, everything Ipkknd & ur post too:)
There's a part of me that has totally surrendered to ipk .. My heart has a place for it along with my most important other residents of heart... It has to be the whole thing as u said- actors , technicians, directors, sets, producers, even that goat!! I loved her gotas Nd pompous ... His two suits and one pair of shoe .. Her hair braided or loose, his long or short... Nothing matters... Arshi weaved magic .. Every single team member creAted history!!!
We are all obliviously happy in our Ipkknd haven

hi serene,

thank you.

that thing about surrender... beautiful line. and true, there is a peace and collection of immeasurable goodness in just that surrender itself i think.

all the things you mention... yes yes just two suits and one pair of shoes, hair of many lengths and styles... all dear. all part of heart. all make one swallow hard when you know, it's all done.

Hello Everyone!,
It's been so long on this forum and yes indi!it has been a lovely tribute, the apt words, but I fail to understand that all who have commented have forgotten to mention our lovely LAVANYA ,how come or did I miss it?.i too miss it tremendously and infact today while I was driving I have some recordings of the sound track of some dialogues and while I drive I listen off other music takes me to a different level, the atmosphere oh God!i used to think why the makers of IPK were giving us so much entertainment for actually peanuts of the subscription that we pay, this show actually deserved something more.right now we are waiting for Barun's movie and wish him all the best.

hi zephora,

thanks for reading. you are right, the show desrevd a lot. and la... one of my favourites. she was real... and that relationship with asr had something palpable and poignant in it. some stunning moments between them especially the breakup and another favourite, the night she drank too much... a level of reality in that writing which one rarely sees on indian tv. and the writer decided it's la who will say that important thing... the key thing... pyaar sabse bada hota hai.

i wish we had seen a bit more of la. thank you for talking about her.

Beautifully wrapped up post Indi.
What to tell you about ARSHI . for me now this has become my mills and boon😳 Their romance still have titliya flying in stomach even after watching it umpteen times.
IPK did redefine the definition of love and with it came the iconic characters- Arnav and Khushi. The fictional characters who became a part of most of ours lives and the show that has become a milestone for most other shows for me. If the other show does not come even 60% close to IPK then its not a show a for me.

Along with ARSHI most of the characters were out of the box until creatives decided to kill them. La was sweet, no kitchen politics, high family values, bro-sister equation, even the villan was out of the box. It was like watching a Sooraj Barjatiya's movie when it came to family and cast. How can we forget the prakash bros. 😆 who were ready to bust in any times😛😉

What an irony -

Haha, loopholes and bloopers galore, glitches galore, many a fall and pitfall, and yet the magician pulled his act turning us blind to his mistakes. He made us see the result of his tricks, which was well - Magic. And we tuned in to catch the act every week day.

Thank you so much for reading the post Amu, glad you liked it. 😃

Ria, thats kind of revelation for me, the guy with that gulaab being Shakuni in the latest MB. On a recent blast thread we happened to be especially enchanted and speak at length about that gulaabi guy some how... whom did we leave any way .. from lakshmiji to that auto driver calling "oye hero" .. 😆

thats besides the point anyway ...thanks for that very interesting discovery.. i have always had greatest respect for the actors playing Shakuni, one of the most layered characters of MB.

thanks, bhavii, glad you saw the post.

what you say is totally true... redefined love... or maybe finally a sjhow said it as it is... love with all its hiccups and yet without losing its validity or excitement for even a second.

yes, the characters were real, and there were so many ways to lead the story to more and more interesting places.

i was just thinking even that diwali time fight between asr and khushi over buying things for arav and then asr's nasty dig about her not having any idea of reality... these things happen... if they could explore such everyday things in an asr khushi way, an ipk way...

sad there's nothing left on the net anymore. very vindictive.

miss ipk?

i just wrote to a friend that ipk and barun sobti, back in 2011, possibly yanked me back to life and gave me something crucial.

i can never explain in mere words how much a television soap, with its inherent tackiness and its many not so deep meaningful aspects, managed to reach right in and hit me hard. awakened me, thrilled me, mesmerised and pleased me, made me connect, made me cry, made me want to laugh uncontrollably, made me want to stay up night after night just for those 22 odd minutes to be aired at 12 midnight.

first telecast... i had to catch it.

how much i felt and learned with ipk. i again traveled back to my inner world, where i am most truly me.

ipk brought me out to this wide vast world of social media. forum, facebook, twitter, did i ever think i'd have 18,000 odd posts on something called an online forum. a simple soap, gave me a reason to access what's out there and see something new.

a few of us watch the show regularly and chat and make stuff. we often refer to the university of ipk, yeah the learning never stops.

nor does the dhakdhaking.

sanaya irani and barun sobti created something i have never ever seen before. nor am likely to again.

all directors and creators and actors of ipk leave an indelible impression, including op. gosh, i love the guy.

nani ji, mami ji (my soul sister), bua ji, di, shashi ji, mama ji, garima ji, lakshmi, hp (in all avatars), jp, ha ha happy ji, bedi ji, akash, la, nk, payal, shyam, jeff, mohan, aman, pam, sim, nasty neighbours, old ladies who love to pinch handsome men's cheeks, the doctor who was also i think preeto's something or the other... really who can one leave out or not like.

and yes, the producers, directors and writers... from gul to nissar parvez, maan singh, lalit mohan, arshad khan, raju singh, ved raj, gautam hegde, hitesh kewaliya, hrishikesh gandhi, janki v, the art directors, the sound people, all those whose names i don't know... they all made a show that will be loved and recalled and kept close to the heart long. perhaps forever... hamesha.

would like to thank everyone who made ipk. even when things started to go haywire... you could feel the art and love of many of them.

that mattered.

when i saw actors doing the best they could even when script was not going where it should... oh that mattered hugely.

398 episodes, of which about 200 are practically flawless. rabba ve, where can we find such a thing. even the 198 which i may be able to point out the flaws in...still had such fantastic dazzle in the heart.

like diamonds... they all had a superior d colour, maybe the cut and clarity varied... but rare and precious they all certainly were.

yes, we will always remember and wait... maybe some day. once again... ipk.

now where's that laad governor of kahin ke and khushi kumari gupta... aaa aaa whose name begins with an a.
