Like what you said about Shyam's character initially set up as "the other side" of ASR. For me, ASR was the perfect complicated Antihero...and "Byronic", as them the Eng Lit types often say for men that
wildly defiant and self possessed and fascinating. And Shyam...all of him...shudh bhaasha as you sharply bring up...and those white/muted shirts and trousers like a good middle class ghar ka ladka, the pleasant demeanor...was truly his antithesis. That dynamic was set up so well, had so much potential to propel the story to places truly fantastic, it got me going from word go...from the first time they had shyam enter frame. But alas, dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye! It was not to be.
Shyam ended up worse than a caricature of himself...

Enjoyed your take, you bring solidity to the table... and the table we know is rickety right now to say the least.

Last episode of the show? Hahaha did you hear that speech? No mention till the end of Arnavji .. I don't think any smiley (won't bore you with words) I put here will come close to describing my incredulity and indignation at what was being shown.

P.S - I seriously think even Obelix is smarter.
P.P.S - Have you seen how expensive Asterix and Oblex books have become these days?

hyuk hyuk yes obelix is. but this was written when the romans abducted him and he couldn't get to food for a while, nor a little refill of magic potion.

the last episode... even worse than that 397. and what the h was that mrs india utter bilge... same writers who wrote first episode... oh yes yes i get the so called loop thing, first epi... ramp, khushi, asr... last epi also ramp khushi asr... but really same guys wrote it? c'mon. and if barun was not available for shoot, why not plan a bit better so you can end half way normally if not fantastically.

how people can lose interest in what they produce and what pays them good money to this extent and how anyone can let them get away with it i'll never understand.

i can't believe any serious writer wrote that stuff. and really no idea who made it... most of the creatives were running around between the production house's other jobs, so yeah credits said what they did, but really who was behind the camera, who did that atrocious lighting, who directed those flat utterly uninspiring shots... ah. these are guys who could write and create magic even in a ditch in the middle of nowhere... telling me they did that? sorry, no can believe. and if they did, i just hope they wake up some day and rue the moment they decided to destroy such beauty. really.

you know i was looking for a shot or two of barun that i could add to an edit i wanted to make of his first epi and last... first epi, of course, can give us at least a hundred caps... last epi, not one. something in me wept practically at the state of barun... his eyes... his eyes were not the same. they showed his tiredness, a stillness there i have never seen, the utter chaos unleahed in everyone's life by then and the constant harping that it really si only one person's fault. really? so barun is the magic potion is it without which writers forget their skills along with director, editor, cinematographer, spot boy, everybody?

it was killing, his smile was fixed... yeah they had shot several expressions but i bet most were just cold takes, no context...

and what what what was that writing? when he is not around, why must you end with khushi staring into double's eyes, whose ears i wish i never saw and barun giving tired bland/blank lopsided smile at a double again, while khushi talks endlessly about her gratitude to asr... er if he heard such nonsense, he'd at least say "shut up... you," in a way only barun can interpret and pull her into his arms.

not stand and stare.

but i can't change all that... just take it as it is and keep getting lost in what thrills me still.. plenty of that in the coming episodes...

ha ha thankfully my rambles will get shorter. there is always an upside. and somewhere asr drives around in an suv and khushi swings her teda choti and says "laad governor," through clenched teeth. hamesha.

I loved that ndi in that episode. it showed how much he "disturbed" her! And his gazes...uff he hated loving watching her! But couldn't help himself, his eyes betrayed him.

I am watching the kidnapping track on TV Asia and it is the episode when Shyam has the nerve to take a shower in Khushi's and Arnav's room. How dare he! How do you say Baltameez? And to boot he is shirtless! He was so disgusting this Shyam character!🤢😡
