Some very cynical thoughts about Holi:

Before going to the disappointing ones, a few things I liked tremendously during these few days in Arnav- Khushi's life..

Holi episode started with one of my most fav Khushi lines "Aap ko e business- business khelna accha lagtha hai na" (you like to play business- business all the time) .. one may wonder, get confused, find it most weird what Khushi did at times.. but some of her lines, her sense of humor is impeccable.. her naivety and purity reflecting in that small piece of paper..

These episodes brought the tenderness in Arnav and Khushi like never. Khushi had been boggled with these dhak dhaks right from Day 1. Finally that day had come, and it needed a total drunken state, for their brains to get shut off and they being fully taken over by their hearts... Khushi was finally able to pose the question to the man who is the first authority to answer that and who has been sailing in the same boat. It was truly heartening to see this constantly bickering couple, to have a heart to heart talk for once, the ambience, the mood.. that confession finally happening where they shared many a special moments, that pool side.. he taking care of her after laying her down on the lounge chair as if she is the MOST precious thing ever happened to him, and that he can't bear the sight of a faintest smear on her..the contentment, joy, relief in her eyes as she found the answer she was looking for long now... then his gentle shaking of head NOT letting her go... that could make one to go through a quick trip to heaven... isn't that what he always wanted to say/ do.. NOT letting her go for a second...ever since she said "Luknow ja rahe hai hum .. hamesha ke liye"... aww that is THE moment for the entire confession for me when he wouldn't let her go...then he would say most softly "I am waiting"... very much reminiscent of his "Mei intezaar kar raha hun" on that fateful day he would come to know about her engagement... full of yearning...

These few days have brought some of the most beautiful moments between them... yet they could n't gel with their overall love saga for me!!!:( ...They would both relegate them the very next minute as if nothing happened... while earlier a simple flutter of dupatta, a miss here and a caress there, a gentle gust of wind... every little move added so much fuel to the intense fire raging in them... where as the inferno right here would be extinguished in no time... and neither would bother to even search the ashes for any clues to clear their misunderstanding! Utterly disappointing!

WE knew even most of the earlier moments were created for drama but even then they were endearing as every little bit added up to their emotions. This one created for a certain purpose.. Holi.. remained only a drama, that would take away essence of this whole confession and couldn't remain as memorable! :(

I am glad that posting this on the fag end of the thread without spoiling the mood of the thread at the start.

Indi I am right there with you. Never, never, never has and will ever be a show like this. Today I was watching the remarriage track, John walked in and said so what's going on with Arnav and Khushi and are you watching it again? I laughed and said oh yeah, over and over again!

P.S. I loved the remarriage epis, thought Sanaya and Barun were incredible but it frustrated to all hell after all they went through they come home to cameras. SERIOUSLY? We had been waiting post consummation for more consummation and got NADA!!!! Sucked big time.

Durga, yes even I felt those NB segments with IPK gang were heavily edited, SP's step mother treatment of IPK continues!!

I was watching it today and suddenly started to scream loud. You know why, cause the part of IPK gang came there to support Ridhi and Rakesh. Ridhi is Akshay's sister. She is a very pretty girl and good actress also.

I became so emotional to see Akshay, Karan, Abhas. Daljeet's husband shaleen also came. You know what I realized; not Barun and sanaya only I love the whole gang of IPK. And I miss them a lot. I wish if Barun and Sanaya would come also!😭

Sorry for making the post and disappearing. My specific anguish was about how the whole Holi confession was made meaningless. It was done and dusted the next minute as if it truly didn't mean a thing, truly kuch farq nahi pada in their relationship. Why was the Holi track spoiled? no idea except for 4 Lions ways to make their leading ladies OTT and weird and expect viewers to accept that.

The fall of quality later on was appalling. I could understand dadi's intro. that track had potential to peep into his past if used properly. But babbli, masala mama NO, . and then the contract marriage...how payal would have reacted had she known that her little sister went thro all this for her sake... .. the less it is talked about Shyam and Anjali the better it is. .. But that Shaym's ouster was hurried becos Abhas was leaving that week.. it was all just falling apart already by that time...

And I have stopped letting these things bother me ... becos.. bear with me as no one would like me saying this.. ... for me the writers, channel and the lead who wanted to leave since Feb are equally responsible.. and I cant live with blaming barun .. seeing him in ASR...as it spoils my entire viewing experience that he just didn't want to be there but was compelled those last few months.. I just cant watch with this fact on my head.. so I let nothing bother me..

And when I lay my eyes on other shows, these kinds of meaningless tracks are very common, but since IPK has maintained that quality since the start it was hard to see its downfall. Was it impossible to maintain that quality later on? NO.. but as we know that initial team had put in so much time, commitment, effort .. which was evident in every frame.. was perhaps too good and too hard to sustain for long... a compromise I have learnt to make mourning for a TV show for an year now!

i don't watch nb, but i knew they were coming to cheer akshay's sis. so cute. i too like the entire cast of ipk. they really gelled and there was that something more than the norm on the sets always. you know i am delighted with the latest news from barun's pr company... they say he starts shooting fora new project in jan... hint at more than one new thing coming up. i will not be my usual skeptical self... i am cartwheeling at the thought of barun again...

have you seen karan's tweets thanking everyone for wishing him and remembering him? he came to ipk two years ago today. he was quite emotional... i felt a silly knot in my throat too... good days they were. a different spin to my 12 midnight... the witching hour it really was.

have you seen, our sexy boy's latest? all from old shoots, but the muuuch better shots.

Started writing my post at 11.00 PM last night but couldn't finish and left the window open which I finished now. And see that Faiqa and Durga shared the views mean while. My intention in that post was only about how the whole Holi track was made meaningless and how it could never become another guest house or Teej or Nainital or Diwali altho it had the potential.

Faiqa, from aug some time the display said story "creative team" no one specified. It was a rocking boat. If the track/ scene was bad even the actors, directors couldn't make me like it unfortunately. I loved both directors, but LM a little more for his passion for Arnav and Khushi and their love story. I think most of the stuff during the Payash wedding was done by him. Ofcourse Some times he did things deemed necessary for his job. And,AS I said in the above post, I don't let all the later on fall in quality bother me much as we now know there are too many variables in a TV show.

Durga, thanks for that optimism. Yes there are many memorable moments post Feb. If we can skip Anjali's drama, all most all Arshi scenes post july were good actually, either funny or romantic or intense.
