For me, it is mostly lack of time. I always press 'like' though .. but sometimes I cannot get myself to comment, especially because I read mostly from phone.
Another reason is I don't like writing just "awesome" and sometimes I really don't find the right words for a chapter. So eventually, I just skip it.

I have many reason for not commenting.
1. if I read an update in my mobile I usually don't comment cause it takes lot of time and effort to type . But if the update is too captivating then whatever hindrance is there I will give the feedback.

2. Lack of time.
3.Sometimes I wait till late night to read some story . I usually don't feel like commenting if it is a late night update.
4. Lack of proper words for giving the feedback.

I don't comment when my previous comment is not acknowledged or when there is a preference in reply to the comment by the author.
When I feel that nothing significant has happened in an update in terms of progression of story that could extract a comment any different from my previous one, I don't comment.

When the content defies my principles, I don't comment. I cannot say I loved it when I haven't.

I press the like button irrespective of whether I have anything to say or not.

After my recent stint at writing, I have come to comment on every update I read, since the thrill of having so many comments is irresistible. Having said that, I replied to every comment that was posted. And with established writers who garner nearly 50-60 pages of comments that is impossible to do. In which case I, as a reader, would prefer the writer to only 'like' every comment and scrap or pm the reader they want to thank eloquently. In this way none of the reader would be offended.

As of lack of time, I respect your views, but to read the update, you anyway spend 10-15 mins, so is taking a few more seconds, not possible?

May be lack of time. I guess, that should be an important reason behind it:)

that is true maybe because lack of time people dont comment however I think they should tell the authors so they know if they are getting pms for that story

thanks for sharing you views:)

it could be but I think also that reading that many stories only makes you forget that which story is this. I really think this is one of normal mistake everyone has made. Just choose few story and follow it:)

or you are just too shy to say anything
too many reasons for being silent reader
or that you read it almost when its gonna end

Could be as sometimes I think it takes time to decide if this is your type of story so that I can understand but if you are shy then what you can do is just send pms about if you have liked the update or not.

Even if you are reading when it is almost end it does not hurt to write a comment then tell what you have liked during the story

thanks for sharing the comment:)
