Its just a note we are asking for...

a. Updating Regularity: Well I know there are authors who just disappear but that might not always be intentional. IF tends to give a one a false sense of accomplishment. If the writer wakes up to reality and realizes that they have a life then its not wrong and if the reader feels strongly against the writer for discontinuing, then it is a sign that that READER should get a life.

Of course, everyone has a life beyond IF. Its just that I would like a note about the same and if I don't get it, I won't return to that story :)

b. Format:
No one is paid for writing. people write, despite of not having a command over their language because of their love for the show. It doesnt give anyone the right to point out that their work is a major turn off. Writing is their prerogative just as reading it is urs

The post doesn't point out to any one in specific. I am just saying that I would not read it :)

c. Hypocrisy: As long as the reader doesnt ask for pms for a story, they can follow it without even liking it. Just because u buddy a writer so u can read her story doesnt mean she should read urs too. She has every right to demand response from people she takes the troube to pm

What I meant in that point was - If I see an author asking for comments and likes on each of his/her updates but himself/herself doesn't do the same for other stories by reading the story silently and not comment at all or comment when the story gets over. I don't like this. That's it!

e. Bias:
If the story is good and has a soul then the defination of BIAS will change to ' i read this story but don't comment or like because i'd kill myself before apprecating my enemy.

Like I said I will not read that story. So if I don't read a story, how will I appreciate or criticize it? Or know it is good or bad?

i. Rude: You are right, this has nothing gotta do with the story but with the behavior of the writer and isnt moralpolicing against forum rules.

Who is moral policing? 😕

l: The Author's Bias: Are we still on the same page..?? What has a writer having a good time got to do with the story they write. If you expect them to acnowledge you everytime just because you have graced their thread with your comment then here is a pointer for you- get over yourself.

If I am being ignored, the only thing that I have in my hands is to leave that place and in this case the story thread which I do. I would rather maintain my dignity than get over myself :)

m: Complicated sentence construction:
Use of metaphors shows how good the writer is and as far as the language is concerned- listen yo urself. You have a problem with writers who dont have a proper sentence construction and you have a problem with someone who does.

I don't like to live in extremes :)

I dont have anything against you but i replied to this because this is no contest. people have a life. Everyone cannot be a shakespeare but it doesnt give any right for anyone to point out publicly the dos and the donts because everyone might have their own reasons for doing all the things mentioned here.

Where in my post did I say that these are the Do's and Don't's? Because it is clearly not. I have just conveyed what I don't do and I am not asking anyone to do the same. If I were, the title would have been "Why you should NOT read a story" instead of "Why you do NOT read a story?"

I really don't know how and why my post gave you an impression different from what I had intended. I guess I was not clear enough. Sorry :)

Thank you for sharing your views and sorry for the late reply :)

Shat pratishat sahi (100% correct) And unless the authors don't know where they are going wrong, how will the authors improve and unless authors don't get praises, how will they get motivated?

This post has been so helpful to me as both a reader and an author and I hope to inculcate the improvements in me :)

I just want a note. That's it. If I don't get it, I leave the story :)

About blogs, honestly I have given up trying to explain this point to a bunch of readers who will not comment on the update because of whatever reason but all hell breaks lose if a writer asks for some feedback. Also tired of explaining the plagiarism pov here and the fact that it's more of a step to wake up IF than anything else but I guess some readers and some writers want to see it for something else and no alternate view can make them even think of an alternate.

I am sure many readers understand the need to go blogging but that does not take away from the fact that commenting on blogs is a little difficult.

Right now I want to say why did I read a story...

Regardless of telling myself its a free story... Author has put in so much effort at least 4 stories which I was following for 6 months.. Out of which 2 for a year... Has been discontinued...
Without a byword..
It's the authors right...we have not paid a dollar..
For it.. And I feel as a reader we deserve it to be left high and dry... For reading it..
Now I feel why did I not make the effort to buy a book and read it...at least I could have known the end...
It's an arshi story in the end they will together 1 author justified her discontinuation...

Why do we begin reading stories the first chapter if we know Arnav and Khushi will be together in the end...

A discussion isn't complete until both sides are heard. So, here's what the writer in me has to say. Sorry if this is off topic.

So, there I had my venting session.😛

I would like to end by saying how much I appreciate all the Arhi writers. Who said IPKKND ended last year? You guys have kept it alive for all of us through your stories. So, Thank You.👏

Thank you for sharing your views as an author. I will definitely visit the other thread and reply to you there and sorry for the late response :)

Oh that way 😛

All i am saying is i have had experienced in past where I am very involved in story and ask a question which is about the present story and has nothing to do with the story line which is not revealed and the author didn't bother to reply me or even give a generic response to my question.. but had all the time in the world to have a chat with some of the close friends on the same thread about everything but the update..

Ditto!

Sorry for the late response :)
