he turned and there was the key on the table. right next to the broken glass and a smear of red. his eyes focused only on the key. he grabbed it and went to hurl it away.

but her voice cut in.. "zara suniye!" please listen...

there she was in white walking toward him, arm outstretched, key in hand. the mazar, the day that di had sent him against his wishes to do things that thanked for wishes being fulfilled. the day he saw her for the second time.

somehow, he couldn't let that key go. part of their connection, this inanimate little object. seemed to have a meaning, though it really shouldn't.
That little thing is so important now. did he ever think Khushi treasured that small thing for so long!

then the red smear registers. it's blood.

"khoon?" why i wonder, the voice over is someone else's or did i really not recognise barun's voice.

quickly his mind connects dots... he's pushing her, turning away, she's falling

the khoon is khushi's and it's there because he was brutish once again. the hurt cuts to the core.

"khushi?!" wrenched out of him, just her name.

in the way he says her name there's always something of his intense feeling. every time asr utters her name, he seems to give the lie to a rather famous writer's much quoted line, "what's in a name?" there's too much in his "khushi" for me to ever think the name was just a physical indicator with no real intrinsic, essential necessity to it. no, juliet, romeo had to be romeo and not any other of name, khushi is inalienably khushi... and always asr had to be asr. which is why the mere thought of an arnav mallick had me in a blue funk, even though his first name is the same. identity, you, all there in that name.
very well said, Indi. Barun modulated his voice every time to say Khushi to convey different emotions.

and when asr says, "khushi," becomes a love story in itself soetimes. like today. i litened to just that one call and heard fear, guilt, despearation, love, care, fear, desperation, guilt all in his voice. if barun sobti hadn't understood that feeling exactly, no amount of directing could have given us that hoarse ragged dear god bring her to me sound.

"khushi?!!"

nor that look.

her left hand wrapped in dupatta she prays, "hey dm, humari madat karo ki hum pichli saari baaton ko bhool jaaye," help me so that i can forget the past... she wants to live, not succumb, she is a fighter too, and even if it kills her she will do all she can to survive the bleakest hour and look toward light.
Khushi is strong. So God chose her for Arnav. Someone has to have strong will like Khushi to face Arnav.

the 18 year old promises never to go back to that house nor see uss laad governor's face. that laad gov... that khushi, that girl. the sense of possessiveness in the way they refer to the other, mine to be rude about, ok? how much she wants to see him, which is why a huge promise must be made... like i promise not to eat rice every day, hehehe like my dad ha. since morning she's been praying for this resolve, not to see him. because of that key (oh how we like to fool ourselves)... but now, never.

"humne unhe unki mannat ki chabi bhi lauta di... bhool se bhi unhe yaad nahin karenge" how sweet, even by mistake i won't remember him... uppermost on hermind is that awful man still. i believe you must have thought well for me, with this faith she closes her eyes to pray as the conch blows, as the wind rises again. the wind?

and a car comes swishing into frame. a man in a cool gray suit, blue shirt, shades on, makes his way purposefully up the steps of the temple.
Uff he was looking so hot!

the wind grows thicker, insistent.

she's leaving the mandir... he is walking up.

as she steps off the temple hall, her dupatta is caught by the wind and hurled on her face. a "wake up, khushi" from the skyriding gust?

if the parting had been calamitous the night of diwali, equal and opposite reaction is here. a momentous meeting. like no other.

piano notes join the wind as the moments are stretched preparing...

at last, she pulls the veil off and she looks up, only to freeze on the spot. beyond the veil... the most beloved, the most hated face.
Beautifully written. 👏

no thought, no words, no waste of precious time... la la hm mhm hm hm hmhmmm, the piano goes into happiness joy and the sheer sweetness of you in my life. she looks bemused, he slowly takes of his shades, all his feelings in those eyes.

imagine this moment, khushi. all that was everything between you, then by the pool a losing of inhibitions, after that the vicious strike of you mean nothing to me... then a last meeting... again the turmoil. but now at last you've made up your mind though your heart yearns for another reality. yet you will strive... never see him again.. never. and then your eyes find him. just that. and the music goes dreamy. what a moment.
Loved your description again.

"khushi?" again he calls her.

a little unsure, almost gentle, asking?

she walks away. immediately the flare up. so so asr. that tenderness wants a chance but the gussa holds sway. you can't walk away while he is talking to you...

"khushi, main tumse baat kar raha hoon, tum aise nahin ja sakti," i am talking to you, you can't walk away.

firebrand waits a bit, then turns and challenges... "kyun nahin jaa sakte? yeh zindagi humari apni hai..." this is my life... i can go where i please when i please and anyway i don't work for you now, so you have no right to order me (that ultra cute northie "aarder" for order).

no right?

through gritted teeth, "don't talk to me like that." what pure unadulterated anger.

he has this thing about being spoken to badly. but i feel he's almost pleading at a level, he can't take her harsh tone, it hurts him. i know, too bad, he's the rudest harshest being of all, but what to do tender he is of heart when it comes to jhalli.
kya kare, pyaar jo karte he jhallise.

she never learns. she pushes him... why? what will you do?

and she turns away to leave.

well he has to do what he has to do.

that familiar hold, that grip on her shoulder. she squirms... but today he's here to hold her like that and find out something. slowly his hands started sliding down her arm, he just wanted to see what he'd come here to see. the damage he'd done.

she's puzzled, he's transfixed. he holds her wrist, she jerks her arm back. he is not giving up... draws her arm up holding it gently.. then holding her still, he removes that covering of dupatta from her left hand, and there lies the inch long cut, still alive, bleeding, on her tender innocent hand.

the episode design was bult on a neat intercutting pattern between the scenes of two lovers who have decided to part today forever and engagement talk between buaji and a man who is married but has an unhealthy interest in engagements. we know now that 6pm is the blessed hour just five minutes away.

"tumhe" his voice is clouded, unclear... as though in shock. she's hurt, she bleeds. he feels his blood draining out. these are strange chaotic feelings not that sweet thing poor khushi believes love is.
His love is painful, what can she do.
kyu dard he itna tere ishq mein.

he gathers himself... swiftly, huskily, and unbelievably sexily,
"tumhe chot lagi hai," you're hurt
ufff, too sexy!!!!!!!!!!!

"toh, aap se matlab?" so, what's it to you? yes, she is cut to the heart by his cruel words and will give some of the real chot he's given her right back to him. that "matlab" thing.

altercation again. what's your problem, why are you bothered. stop the tamasha... till he takes command.

"humara haath chhoriye," let go of my hand, she's reaching another level of anger. when lovers quarrel, why is it that anger always seems to arouse other passions, something sexual? but not when you fight with someone who means nothing to you.
dark saturnine look.

he has taken out a handkerchief and started dabbing the wound. uuhhh, an indrawn breath from her. oh it hurts.

that cut and that uuhhh reminds me of cut through. he seems to have achieved this cut through with her and she with him from that first moment. in a world full of people two strangers meet, and they register with each other instantly, it's rare, there's a sense of meant to be in it. even if both walked away from each other at this very moment, never will either forget the other nor not get a thrill, a pleasurable uuuhhh if they thought of the other.

it's almost six.

had to be recorded on shyam's watch. nice touch.

bells ring, conch shells sound, the auspicious hour is here, the chants begin... om swasti na indro... the peace prayers then the mantras to dm... and on the temple grounds, a young man with no faith in idols or god as we understand the word, holds a dm worshiping young girl's left hand and starts tying a gauze bandage on her ring finger. the finger whose nerve they say connects straight to the heart, the way a key connects to a girl, the way the thought of her hurt connects to a desperate love.
awesome description again.👏

the beauty and sanctity of this moment is paramount and creatives have given it all they have, the camera movements, the lighting, the sound, the pace, all of it.

asr and khushi are tying some sort of knot, feels like it is for life. (and believe it or not, as i write this sitting in a hotel room in sydney facing a garden with a beautiful church right beyond it, the church bells ring joyous and jubilant... a wedding is on... my daughter said two weddings are on, she saw two brides and two bride grooms... make whatever connections you will of this fact).

when he held on and put his hand in his pocket to pull out the bandage, it was the most beautiful moment for me somehow. he'd carried a bandage for her, he came all the way just so he could take care of the wound the girl who means nothing to him has got thanks to him. he would tend to her... not anyone else... he. if he could hurt, he could heal. his khushi, his responsibility. he stood before all and drew her near and tied the bandage over and over till he was certain it will protect her.
good observation. i ponder this words, "Khushi is his responsibility.". He is accepting this fact in his subconscious mind, what will soon make him break the commitment with La

what must she have felt when she saw the first aid preparation. bet he also put some ointment, etc. she just watched him do his work. the significance of it all somehow not lost on her. dm watched over them, the creatives were not talking any chances that you didn't get the point.

but really, even without dm, even without mahurat and all the chanting, just by itself the whole thing was magical. and desperately beautiful.
absolutely beautiful.

there are many reasons i can never have enough of bad boy asr, this is one of them. that revelation of a loving heart behind khadoos, and none of your soppy nonsense... though he wants to bawl at having hurt his dueling partner, he is practical, all set with things of use, not just silly sweet words. months later, even as he went nuts, he will think of a mangalsutra and sindoor because even though he hates her, she needs them to even think of a thing called marriage. crazy man.

a handsome devoted man, a gorgeous in love girl, and an attraction that pulls them even when they push each other away. how intimate, how loving his hands on her soft ones, making pain go away. another glimpse of thsi thing called love. wonder which rasa.

she watches silently. he works absorbed. just a couple of times he looks at her. nihatya, unarmed, as he is, feelings evident... no rancour.

it's done. she's all flustered after that rapt attention. if he looks at her like that any more...

"humne mana kiya tha na," i'd set not to. she's retreating to agreed battle lines.

offense is the best defence and in seconds both warriors arm themselves anew. "aap kya chahte hain humse," what do you want from me... would he ever be able to answer that.

"beta, leo arati," god walks in to help the two.

and the nastik, the atheist offends the astik, the theist again.

bhagwan, kismat talk... meri marzi, my wish, too. and so she goes all the way to, some day you'll realise the hand of god in everything, but that day i won't be there.

what an opening for a shatir fighter. why that day, returns he promptly... now, this minute, get out of my life. warriors take position. a song going crazy trying to make head or tail of this chaotic twosome.

the synchronised turn away. the walking away from each other. both committed to never seeing the other again. lovely. the most stylish put back of shades in the history of the planet. aviators, uff what a style! i think they are called.

shyam has put babuji through hell again to get that ring on her finger. he deserves a noose around his neck.👍🏼 "suhag ki sej paane ke liye arthio ka dar dikhana padta hai," to get the wedding night bed one must put the fear of the death bed into people. thanks for the translation. i didn't get the meaning.the sick twisted cretin, with its disturbing knowledge of the human mind alerting all who watch to the game of manipulation.

my last thought, khushi had looked so sad, so terribly heart broken as she's walked away from rm a while ago. she really felt all was over. but that appearance of her hotshot in his deadly glasses with his arms and ammunition, that broken "tumhe," everything seemed to put the zizz back in her, and shew as all take on the world, show you what i'm made of as she stormed of. lot of ishtyle in our man's stride too. obviously, they both knew allw as far from over. though they were never gonna meet again. ever. samjhi tum?
Khushi was hurt for sure. But she doesn't know he already marked her, so their reunion is inevitable.

loved your cognitive analysis.
beautiful episode.
"I don't want to see your face." ASR barged at her
Jhootta, liar, came not to see her shakal, but to nurse her!
Gosh how can he claims that he doesn't care.
He actually treats Khuhsi like a bachcha

All the bold lines stood out for me.
My comments are in purple.

if he hadn't said "shadi kar raha hai," she wouldn't have said "theek hai" this evening.

she stood there watching her father in agony, breaking up, then she let a dream go. this man meant more to her than anyone, and when the only other man that had mattered said she meant nothing to him, what was left to think about, dream about.

an obscene man had won the evening. perhaps because a man of conscience did what he never should have... run away scared. but we are not creatures of should and ought only, we are human, fragile in a million ways, often doing "how could you" things. and arnav singh raizada had done just that.

the repercussion of that doing was now on the two. in smartly designed parallel scenes their dear siblings try to find out if all is as it should be. and are the two happy. khush. anjali and payal are close to their younger ones, they can sense them often. something tells di and jiji that these two are not ok.

the decision was taken in haste... jaldbaazi. clever use of same words in both scenes. the writer is not taking sides. both his protagonists are feeling equally wretched. in their own way.

"kahin tumne yeh faisla jaldbaazi mein toh nahin liya na?" you didn't take this decision in haste, did you, asks di.

his mind flies to a girl with silken lips, curious excited eyes... how he still wants her.

he can't answer this question with his customary abruptness, he can't find words... not yet.

"chhote, hume batao... tum khush toh ho na?" chhotey, tell me, you are happy arent't you?

he swings away, not prepared to go there.

"of course, di." bad liar.

"main khush hoon." i am happy.

di is happy, prattles on about the dither when you decide on marriage, talk of jeejaji...

"chhotey, jab faisle dimaag se nahin dil se liye jaate hai na, toh sab accha hota hai." chhotey, when decisions are taken with the heart and not the head, then all goes well. poor girl. if indeed all decisions of the heart were so right would hers turn out to be so off the mark?

maybe a comment on the importance of both dil and dimaag in life. asr has both. so does khushi. just that each thinks the other has one part missing. or maybe a comment on the inevitable... fate, destiny, call it what you like.

anjali had chosen shyam. and look what he did with her loving trusting heart. a situation full of the tragic element of life... here she is going on about how terribly happy she is with her man... and there he is getting engaged to another woman. later, he will use this very loving generous nature of hers to get money out of her to buy his engagement ring for khushi. digusting.

and look at poor khushi's state. the only man she had ever loved as a woman loves a man, felt dhakdhak for, in just one evening, he'd taken her to bliss then thrown her into the abyss of the door slammed shut, the this means nothing, and now in a situation where she must consider others before herself, she is getting engaged to that man's beloved sister's husband.

then there's asr. mute, unable to explain his fears his pain, hurting everyone, khushi, la, nani, di with that utterly wrong spur of the moment decision.

sometimes things just happen the way they happen, nothing seems to be able to stop it.

"tumne yeh faisla dil se liya hai na?" you've taken this decision from the heart, haven't you? payal asks khushi.

"batao na, khushi, hum tumse kuch pooch rahe hain, kya shyamji wohi insaan hain, jinke saath tum apni poori zindagi guzarne ke liye taiyaar ho?" tell me khushi, is shyam ji the one you want to spend your life with?

jiji, i have decided now, and did you see how happy everyone was. to her that matters most. to him too only his sis's happiness is of importance... but this time even that didn't figure.

"aur tum?" and you, payal persists.

"hum? humara toh naam hi khushi hai." me? after a painful pause and struggle within.. why my name is happiness. both lied beautifully, one even managed to smile and act cute.

payal's continuing questions, are you sure? didn't rush into it, did you, etc., took khushi to the memories of the poolside, a man she had wanted to experience...and from a very young girl came a philosophical take on the evening's madness.

"kuch cheeze bas yoonhin ho jaati hai... bina soche... bina samjhe..."
some things happen just like that, without thinking or understanding...

payal is not listening, she goes on, but buaji wants an engagement quickly... are you ready?

engagement... and she hears him say, "main lavanya se shadi kar raha hoon..." i am marrying, lavanya.

his cheek rests on la's hair in her memory. but he's looking at her... he watches her as her tear falls. khushi remembers, face growing sadder, hurt, puzzled, bleeding within...

rabba vey.. and his most hurtful words cascade... ending in koi ahmiyat nahin... you're of no importance.

"jo bhi hua hum use bhoolne ke liye taiyaar hain..." whatever has happened, i am ready to forget that, she answers payal.

i am prepared to forget... not i am prepared to marry. this marriage is just for her family, her babuji.. if only she knew the truth, she would possibly kill shyam with her bare hands

payal has no idea what khushi is saying, of course.

"aur waise bhi ab hume wahan jan hi nahin hoga..." anyway, i am not going there any more.

what are you saying, khushi...?

she is going to start afresh.. and this is the best way... so that had really been her decision. a young girl... her inner energy for life, for tomorrow dictates a choice. no sad sack, pillar hugging and crying heroine she... naya daur... new phase. a modern contemporary streak in our desi girl.
like that idiot she loves. the one who is standing silent, feeling tortured within but determined to get the better of this hold on him she seems to have.

"devi maiyya hain na, woh sab sambhal lenge. dm will take care of everything." how badly khushi needs her god now. when life feels particularly terrible, dark, hopeless, we turn to the eternal and say... this is all in your hands now... take me through... sambhaliye. some day, he will come back to do what was his duty... but for now there's dm. always.

a key drops out of a bag.

"zara suniye..." she remembers that day at the dargah...why were some meetings so unforgettable?

"aap ki mannat ki chabi gir gayi." your mannat key has fallen.

but he hadn't made a mannat. maybe the key had a mind of its own and decided that he needed something... someone?❤️

"yeh kaisi chabi hai, parameswari," what sort of key is this, parameswari, asks her bua in her usual scold love way. you've kept it as though it's the key to a treasure.

ah, a treasure... khazana... more, actually.

"kuch nahin buaji... " it's nothing, buaji.

then let it go..."phenk do isse." did she hear a cold, wintry voice say... "phenk do."

the payal has done its work. now it's key's turn

Indi 👏⭐️ the key had a mind of its own too, ofcourse, just like the payal. thanks for pointing it out. Boy he really did need someone didn't he?? loved the whole thing! bravao!

the key had a mind of its own and decided that he needed something... someone?👏

@Ami
thanks for reading my 114
It's my absolute pleasure that you liked my take.
you are right I was really pissed off on buaji that time.

Sohara isn't it amazing that evenhtough we know what goind to happen, the emotions Barun and Sanaya emote and how the CVs put it all together, we live so in the moment. its crazy!

can't agree more. The whole team of IPK is amazing. And i lost my words everytime when I see Sarun's acting. And everytime I watch the episodes, I keep the same emotions, though I know the future. That's the magic of IPK. I will never get enough of this amazing show.

EPISODE 116

Khushi's Engagement PART 2

ONE of my favorite epi holding future in it'.

A key which has power to unlock doors and caskets to something hidden secretly physically or spiritually and it is also a solution to a problem. Lets put this key in the lock opening but wait for turning ,twisting [this key Khushi] to open this door named as ASR'..

Shyam's Mahoorat[Slochy Rook ]

Mahoorat is done for this manipulative Slouchy Scorpion as auspicious time is done but he is determined to engage with Khushi at any cost.He is puttin babuji through hell "Suhag ki sej paane ke liye arthion ka dar dikhana padta hai," [to get the wedding night bed one must put the fear of the death bed into people.] What an axial with hanging pendulum of sick psych ''

Symbolism and connection:His watch is telling 6 pm approximately.6 circles ,chukarvyue in which Khushi put herself and Arnav brought her out.As Khushi said yes to this Scorpy and weaved this net of circles again Fate is making Arnav to bring her out.She will be engaged to him before this scoundrel.

Arnav and Khushi's Mahoorat [King and Queen]

There he stood behind the window pane with pain delineated on his face just like a spectator watching his life walk away from him .. Arnav back to his dark shell as she is gone, a rose has been muddled and mission is accomplished "his control is back"...and then by the first turn ,A visual, her physical presence [ part of her] in the form of a key makes him atrocious that he still has traces of her ..Arnav grabs the key in rage to throw it out and then his hand stopped in the air with her voice .. "zara suniye!" please listen...

the striking realization that it was the same Key that had the blessings of the DM,he same key that he had told Khushi to throw away..

THIS key [Khushi]was in Khushi's safe shell until NOW when he broke it last night..Khushi has returned it to its rightful Owner ..and just minutes ago what did the owner do.., he threw it[Khushi was thrown out] just like his Dhadkan as she is the key to his heart. The revealing Truth makes him immediately to hold on to it safely in his palm .

Another trace her blood makes him realize that Khushi has been hurt when he pushed her.."khushi" the only word comes out with concerns, tenderness, and with love under his lips but with flickering pains in eyes like he has hurt her indeed...

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS:EPI 276..."Khushi, I know you forgave me but I would never forgive myself hurting you" during kidnapping phone convo is reflecting here as he wants to say to her after breaking her heart last night this Diwali but it still requires time...more lessons to be learned

Symbolism and connections:This moment triggers a future indication that may be he will be at the edge to throw his life[Khushi] away but the second moment will claim with realization that THIS is mine!

Connection is simple after terrace scene he will be ready to crush Khushi but after his BIG roar she will be HIS along with lots of tears..

Finding that Khushi is hurt, he hurries to release her pains .He drives to the Mandir where Khushi is praying, entrusting her future into her Mother Devimayya's hands.

Khushi"humne unhe unki mannat ki chabi bhi lauta di... bhool se bhi unhe yaad nahin karenge" [I returned his sacred key ,even by mistake I won't remember him...] how cutely she is remembering her LG.

But Deviy Mayya has settled things already in their favor. The moment Khushi walks out of the mandir after feeling safe in her mother's arms She meets with her king, her protector and her guide chosen by Devimayya by herself... Only for her.Piano mingles in for this beautiful and auspicious moment. Its an eye opening moment for Khushi as if the night prevailed with darkness for her the day launched brighter than ever...

Symbolisms and connections
: The Moment Khushi says to DM , I know you have chosen something good for me and Arnav's SUV arrives in , He is the chosen one'..

The duppatta covering her face indicating an adumbrated vision , a confused picture of the situation, her minds will be filled with wrong aspiring thoughts of being pressure for wrong reasons but when she will remove it she will see a clear and true view she will accept Arnav as her true mate ..[ after revelation she will forgive him "kyuonkeh baat aapki hai iss liye agar koi aur hota tou nahin padta..."...then her confession to herself "'kyuon na iss unjane unsune ehsaas ko eik mauqa to do" all the way when he stands besides her during Dadi thingy while talking to Payal...."humnain bhi Arnavji ko khabi aise nahin dekha"...to the very end where she will submit herself to him for eternity.

while in the case of Arnav, the removal of his goggles indicates that he will finally unfasten his seat belt to fasten up with her by revealing his inner most thoughts and fears, he will let her into his world'..A world where his sister does not have any access'[mother's garden is one of em]..

Arnav approaches Khushi with concerns in his eyes, softness in his tone
."Khushi"'..while a hurt Khushi tries to leave.. A Passive Arnav with suppressed urgency tells Khushi ,"khushi, "main tumse baat kar raha hoon, tum aise nahin ja sakti," i am talking to you, you can't walk away."

"[I am talking to you,you can't go like that]...but a emotionally wrought Khushi who has had enough of this roller coaster ride .. She gives a piece of her mind to Arnav ,"kyuon nahi ja sakte'.yeh zindagi humari apni hai ...hum jahan chahain ja sakte hain'aapko humain order daine ka koi haq nahin hai....[Why can't I leave this is my life and I can go anywhere I feel like it] Arnav with gritted teeth,"Don't talk to me like that"....[He never liked when Khushi thinks or talks badly with him] leading ASR's rage to grab and hold her by force ..Khushi jerks her arm up with bafflement...But is Khushi worried about the pain or protesting that she has been held against her will..NO ... All she is fussing over by surrounding people because of stigma. ASR calms down by her concerns and the gripping hold turns into a gentle touch trailing down her arm making her lose her anger anticipating along with that, He brings up the injured hand exposing the wound

Symbolisms and connections: in future Khushi's integrity or character might get smudged and it will be Arnav who will clear her name .

Connection: Khushi's character was muddled by him first by marrying her forcefully and then later by Dadi & Shyam and Arnav was the one who stood with her all along during force & remarriage

Arnav has the first look at the wound, An anguished voice escapes '."
Tumhain "[you are hurt] [ as he could not believe that he actually had hurt her] by composing himself which only strives to increase Khushi's anger ..Khushi in her bickering,"hann tou aapse matlab"[So why do you bother'...Arnav,"Stop fussing"...".He grabs her hand, begins to wipe the traces of blood from the scratch ...

Loved the ferociousness in his eyes when Khushi says, "Chodiye", it was like I have every bloody right to hold your hands, Dammit ..Don't tell me what I should do !! and also his instantaneous look of concern when she hisses in pain.

Just at the hour of destiny [6:00 o,clock sacred time but on Shyam's watch], with God as witness ,accompanied with Sacred chants along with Manter [god's words], Arnav singh Raizada begins to tie the bandage around Khushi Kumari's Gupta Ring finger effectively wrapping his name with her's...

Hai Dhoop sa Woh Agar tou Woh Chandini raat si hai

This auspicious act is solemnized under the illumination of Sun..The star [the parents ] that is eternal witness to the sacred deed.. It is done at Evening/twilight the hour when Sun and Moon mingles symbolically suggesting that to Arnav as Sun is mingling with Khushi as Moon ..the Temple bells ringing in happiness as if immortalizing the this union of two daunting forces ..Devimayya's Chunri appears flying towards them as if protecting these two star crossed lovers ... and stamping the final seal of approval is the Devimayya's blessing in the form of Aarathi..which her devout child and believer Khushi receives but not atheist Arnav who still has a few more lessons to learn ..

Symbolisms and connections"She takes parsad but no him meaning Khushi will always have Arnav's love and attention through hate and love but Arnav will not have it now and he has to earn/win it. He'll have that day when he'll respect God and HIS blessings and at the top he'll repent for his deeds and seek his love and forgiveness.

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS: He will be in Mandir taking Aarathi and doing all willingly by taking off his aviators just for KHushi but he will..

Pause here:Khushi's protector carried bandage in his pocket meaning she is his Khushi, his responsibility and he has right on her to hurt her or to love her.He is the only one who can alleviate her pains and sorrows even if these come from him.

Addled Khushi with his intense looks and care,"humne mana kiya tha na," [I'd said not to.] Being offensive,"aap kya chahte hain humse,"[ what do you want from me?]... Does he have the answer ...?

The eternally bound soul mates have one of their contention again and swearing they will never see each other.. started walking away and out of each other's life under Tu hi bata mere maula spell [ as they fondly imagine ..yeah right right next day she is in his arms ] ..The united hearts[ring finger joined with his heart] continue their journey on parallel route, fully assured for not seeing each other again but forgetting that two opposing banks of a river can meet by a bridge and in the case of this parallel route..that bridge will be LOVE !!

They both are walking in the same direction unlike during Diwali meaning their paths are same and in the same direction

Symbolism and connection:ASR putting on his Aviators [googles] hiding his emotions and bluffing while walking away .."fadak nahin padta" but "padta hai" to Khushi because she is leaving by catching that flare in his eyes'..just bootiful..

Lamha-e-Fikeriya[Thinkable moment: All the dialogues by Khushi about he realizing one day that what all he did was because God wanted him to do it...and that day she won't be around. That is true. She might be around but that day she will be so far away that he even won't have his tears to support him . I think that day he'll realize that Khushi was also a victim of Shyam like his Di and not a delinquent. He literally will have to work very hard to win her back.

CONNECTED DOT: Khushi I love you...He was holding her pom pom with tears "I can't believe its you ...I thought it's a dream" That day is connected here...He also apologized Khushi during remarriage. He also did play tricks to win her back when he promised he will make her his life partner for forever before the night of Khushi's Bday

My POV He got her hatred without any work, He got her tenderness without any work ...Let him for once earn/win her love ,let him make himself worthy of her !!! and he will one day and that day this key will successfully have opened the door of his heart..."Tum aaj se abhi se meri patni'meri Maa ki Bahu ho[ At this moment You are my wife ,my mom's DIL]

It Doesn't Mean A Thing

Please Let Me Know Dear God

Engaged

Please let me know, My Dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

Why the poolside is lit with lamps all about and the warm glow is soft like a candlelit room? It is the perfect place for romance; a place for me to get lost in emotion. Why is the poolside, a safe haven to let down my guard and allow all that I am feeling to burst just like the crackers outside on the streets. The little boy guilt for having her payal is no more, I will take the precious payal and clasps it around her ankle. This precious payal was her mother's and was returned to its rightful place on Kushi's ankle and I feel content.

beautiful preamble. loved your insightful words.

She brings her sari down passed her ankle and he stands up; she does too but there are many unspoken questions lingering in the air.

Please let me know, My Dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

Why did I walk away? She watches me almost disappointed that I am leaving but I turned around, I was compelled to as she nervously wrings her hands and looks away. Seconds pass but it seems like an eternity and then her eyes slowly shift upward gazing into mine. She has just given me permission that was all I needed.

loved the description

He starts walking towards her intently looking into her eyes, her lips quivering and for every step forward he takes, she takes one step back. She too can feel it, the strong attraction and mesmerizing pull. Thud'.there is no where else for her to go she is up against the wall, cornered. He is coming closer'. closer'.. closer'she can feel his breath upon her skin. He reaches and caresses her face, she closes her eyes in bliss, his touch so appealing. Her breath starts as a shallow pant, high in her chest, but then deepens and comes hard and fast; he moves her so much. Her hand clenches her sari. Her pink luscious lips are calling him and ever so slowly he is answering their call. He wants her with all his being; he can't fight it anymore.

beautiful description again. such a passionate scene it was, I have goose bumps every time I watch it.

Just when his lips are about to touch hers,

RRRINNNGGG '... RRRINNNGGG'... RRRINNNGGG...

reality hits'...

eyes open'...

STUNNED!

His hands release her as if he has been burned.

Please let me know, My Dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

I close my eyes and think why did I do that? Why was I carried away?

I look at her she too looks embarrassed and I walk away.

Oh, Devi Maiyya,

How has this happened, what does it mean and why does did he have my payal?

I must find out, help me.

He is alone, eyes closed. He pictures in his mind how his lips nearly touched hers.

Please let me know, My Dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

How can I do this? How could this happen? Why? Why was I so weak?

She comes to him. He leaves.

Back at the party ASR is assisting Di and Kushi is on the phone telling her sister she will be home soon. La asks Kushi where has she been; she has been looking for her. Kushi says I have been right here. She sees him talking with guests and then he is gone and she tells La she will be right back. He is avoiding her averting his eyes everytime she looks at him.

Something is definitely wrong.

Anjali asks Kushi what is the matter, oh, she knows it is getting late. Anjali says don't worry she will send her home in her car. Kushi sees Arnav and walks away from Di leaving her hanging. "Kushi'Kushi?''

He is at poolside again and she goes there.

Please let me know my dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

Why did I fake being on the phone and she knew it. She says to me that she needed to talk to me and my reply was I didn't want to talk to her but she says I must. Why must I? Why must I admit my feelings for her?

Back at the party neighbors have come and they have met Lavanya. They have heard that she is Arnav's live in girlfriend. How can Nani allow this in her home?

Oh Devi Maiyya

Give me strength.

Where did you find my payal? Since when have you had it and why didn't you return it earlier? Why today? Tell me, answer me.

Please let me know, My Dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

Don't let her see I am lying.

Don't you learn when you're told once? Leave me alone, in fact I don't want to see you. Don't you understand?

Oh, Devi Maiyya,

Give me courage!

No I don't understand, you explain it to me.

He tells her, Go away from here!!!

He tries to leave but she blocks his way.

Explain it to me! Why was my payal with you? What does this mean and all that happened'..

Angrily and frustrated he tells her,

I said just leave me alone!!!!

She starts to talk to him again. He can't take it; he grabs her, "don't you dare say another word!" He is hurting her, gripping her like a vice, like the pain he is feeling in his heart. He finally realizes the pain he is causing her when he sees tears in her eyes and it stops him; he can't stand to see her in pain, even if he hates her right now for revealing his true feelings to her. He closes his eyes, he has done it again, hurt her. He releases his hands from her arms.

his tears are unbearable. Arnav is vulnerable, he doesn't want to hurt her. but she is provoking him.

Please let me know, My Dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

Give me strength!

I don't need to answer anything you ask.

He walks away.

The neighbors are still carrying on about the live in relationship, when Arnav walks up grabs Lavanya's and and says that his intentions are to marry Lavanya. All are surprised including Kushi across the room. Everyone is happy while Kushi is in tears and all he can do is watch her reaction. ASR and La take Nani's blessing and everyones hugs and congratulations. La is ecstatic!

Kushi runs to leave. She is in tears and La catches her from going out the door. She asks her why is she crying, is everything okay? Isn't she happy for her? Kushi lies and tells her they are tears of joy. La thanks her for everything since it was Kushi who has enabled this to happen.

Absolutely, La, because if nothing had happened at poolside you would still be just a live in and not a soon to be engaged girlfriend.

very well said.

Please let me know, My Dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

Why am I glad I hurt her? Who does she think she is?

And who am I kidding?

And I certainly wouldn't be praying to you!

Kushi is dragged back by Lavanya and she is the one who has to give the sweets. My Dear God, such a punishment. This girl is just realizing her feelings for this man, has experienced a very intimate exchange only to be slapped in the face and he engages himself to someone else! She must leave and Anjali is insisting he take her home. She says No! She will be all right and she leaves.

Kushi is devastated. As she is walking, she relives what just occurred between them. It is too late.

The family is so excited making plans for a quick engagement and marriage. Arnav becomes angry he only agreed to get married he didn't say when he would do anything! He leaves. He can't stand the idea she is out there alone, he goes to find her.

He reaches her and gets out of the car and tells her to shut up and go sit in the car. Way to go arnav, take control of your woman, jerk!

he thinks Khushi is his own. so he can do anything with her.

The car ride is awkward with Kushi babbling to hide her pain and he is asking her don't you want to know about your payal? He has come up with some crazy excuse for having it I am sure. She is congratulating him on his engagement and she is happy for them.

Oh, really?

He stops the car soon after. I said get out!

They are outside her house, she didn't realize. She thought he was throwing her out of the car again. She tries to unbuckle her seat belt, has difficulty, as always and when leaving her dear dupatta doesn't want to leave him she is holding on. Kushi struggles aqnd as she does her wallet falls into the car. Ah yes, that is why our lovely little dupatta held on; he must return to her again and say all those nasty little lies.

The family is just so totally frustrated and confused. First Arnav agrees for the engagement and then says no for the wedding. They have to meet Lavanya's parents so why was he like this. Anjali mentions that they didn't know if he would marry and now atleast he has agreed, and Shyam says he must feel like he is being rushed. They all agree to let Arnav take his time.

As he comes to a halt the wallet falls below his feet. He sees it. It is HERS. Hmm, was that a frustrated sigh I saw? He throws the wallet on the dashboard.

She is at home, her life will never be the same. The whole family is in the living room and Buaji is pressuring Kushi for an answer to her marriage with Shyam. Garima asks Kushi if she wants some tea. A true mother she is to Kushi, she notices her tension and wants to calm her.

that's the difference between a mother and a bua.

She has to have a good reason why she shouldn't marry him. And her reason knocks on the door.

She goes to answer the door and it is Arnav with her wallet. Buaji invites him in admonishing Kushi for her bad manners. He enters the home and Garima says she will get some sweets. Kushi answers like a good wife would," Nahi, Mom he is not suppose to have sweets". Arnav is very polite. He asks how Babuji is and tells the family if they ever need anything to inform him, just like a good husband would say. He wishes them Happy Diwali and leaves to go, both glancing at each other knowing the events of the evening. Garima tells Kushi to go and walk him out.

loved how you pondered their husband-wifey behavior.

Please let me know, My Dear God and Devi Maiyya
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

Why is it that the spider is still spinning his web? He is trying to leave the house with an excuse of going to receive his allergy injection. Anjali is worried, Dear God. She wants to go and support her husband but he is weaving and weaving an excuse and again she falls for it, falling into his web, so he can devour her.

He leaves and we know where he's going!

He calls his goons he has something planned.

Back at the GH, Kushi runs out after him thanking him. He tells her "she has a habit of leaving her things with him just like the payal at the pool. I had your payal don't thionk otherwise. Don't think that I held on to the payal as a mememto to this rich man. It doesn't matter to me.

It doesn't mean a thing."

She pictures what happened at poolside questioning,"it doesn't mean a thing?" She saw his face as he placed her payal so reverently on her ankle, she saw the intensity of emotion when he tried to kiss her, "Doesn't mean a thing?" That's not true and she knows it deep in her heart. He does too but he must stop the thoughts. "Maybe you do and you thought you would change your life forever." He walks forward, here it comes, "All that happened, doesn't meant anything at all to me. It doesn't mean a thing." The final slap in the face and kick her when she is down, she deserved it for making him reveal himself and his feelings. Now he shouldn't feel anything for her, now it will be over.

absolutely loved your take here. brilliant writing.👏

He leaves. The slamming car door makes her jump. He speeds off and she slowly sits on the steps crying. She is devastated. Payal comes out noting that Kushi has found her payal and asks her about it. Kushi pictures the scene at poolside and says to her sister it doesn't matter and runs to her room, locking the door behind her. Here, alone, in the quiet of her room she slides down the door and collapses on the floor crying hysterically.

He is in his car. She is in his head. The psychiatrist couch of his car is not going to help him out of this mess he has gotten himself into.

loved the term psychiatrist couch. Arnav is terribly perturbed, nothing can heal his pain now.

Please let me know my dear God
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

faasle meelon ke hain, dono hai alag disha,

There's miles between them, both are going different directions,

kabhi ye mil payenge, nahin kisiko hai pata,

Will they ever meet, no one knows,

nahin kisiko hai pata

No one knows,

tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

ik baat usme bhi hai, to ik baat usme bhi hai,

there is something special in him, there is something special about her too,

hai dhoop saa woh agar, wo chaandi raat si hai,

If one is like the shade from the sun, the other is like full moonlight,

mil paaye kabhi dono, kya teri isme hai razaa...?

Will the two ever meet, do they have your permission

tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba
tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

na paas aa sake, na door ja sake

They cannot come close nor can they go far from each other,

gar pyar inko kheenche, takrar inko roke

If love draws them close, their tiffs stops them,

gar pyar inko kheenche, takrar inko roke

yun to badhe hain inke kadam, inhe raasta tu hi dikha

They have moved on , so please show them the path,

inhe raasta tu hi dikha

Show them the path

tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba-

Tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

Tu hi bata mere maula, tu hi bata mere rabba

ISS PYAAR KO KYA NAAM DOON?

They are broken.

loved the translation, such an intense song to depict their state.

Buaji says Kushi is going crazy she has locked herself in her room. When will she realize what a catch Shyam is? On and on and on she tyrates, enough Buaji! Payal says Kushi is very worried she will speak to her. Shyam enters bearing a gift of sweets. He says to Buaji a light is out she should check it and when Buaji goes out there she finds the graffiti written on her house in the shape of a heart with Kushi and Shyam's name. She is so upset, making a scene, they all run out and the web is so big they have all been caught. The spider has succeeded in catching his prey. Shyam makes such a scene it is disgusting and Shyam has hurt Babuji in all ways and I can't even type what he has done to this man in the episode forcing him to aspirate the sweet. UGH!

Shyam is a devil. So he works accordingly.

Kushi is blamed and now she is forced to accept his proposal for her family's sake and dignity. So disgusting and so sad for our Kushi especially after the night she has had.

Khushi's pain is unbearable.

Both Arnav and Kushi are fixed to be

ENGAGED...

But not to each other.

*Sorry had to combine 111-113; real life got in the way!

On a real note, Khushi must have felt something for him to hold on to someone else's key for so long. She kept it close to her and only gave it back when she felt that he was now belonging to someone else. In trying to rid herself of anything that reminds her of him, she actually ends up tying herself to him. Great symbolism!

Thnx Rebecca for reading mine 115 and liking the symbolisms especially the key one.So appreciative for that.❤️ and yes totally agreed with CVs really had to have a head to remember these things because these were the essence of the show

Bautiful about the name "Khushi".. reminds me of the aalap of a raag at the start and end of a classical piece to emphasize on the raaga..there was a mix of so many emotions in that call of his..there was n't any need for any confessions if one hears that.. there are a million I love yous and I can't live withour yous in that.. your beautiful description of that... the man who uttered that word.. truly inspirational!

There are certain scenes of IPK that made it historic and any one them would have been enough for a movie to make it a blockbuster classic... the mandir symbolic engagement is one such! Yes, the creatives have given everything they have and its evident in it... I was never as awe stuck by a man's hotness (yes!!) as I was that day he ascended those mandir stairs.. all determined to attend to this middle class girl.. ofcourse most of it has to do with his pain and love.. rather painful love! That scene had so much depth at every level.. to sensuous to possessiveness to anger to reluctant promises!!

Loved loved your write up...👏👏 couple things you emphasized.. his pronunciation of Khushi and the augustness of that moment.. incredible.. my comments in blue.

thank you, horizon.

horrible typos all through. sorry.

what if the key weren't there. i bet our resourceful man would find a way around it. i refuse to consider any other scenario. 😳

loved your comments. especially about the 5 year old you see in him as much as the tycoon. me too. they are both like bacchas sometimes. it's interesting, because somehow even that says lau to me. deep love. if you can play with someone, and be all grown up and hot with that someone too... oh the range of that relationship. a sense of equality too... how i hate this male superior, more serious, more knowledgeable, the karta of family thing. i feel sorry for the guys too, always having to be superior, because our world demands it. love it when both are at the same level.

ok, i like 18... somehow more believable that no man (other than bankelal ji😆) has drawn a line on her heart. also 18 and 26 feels kinda sweet (and maybe he is tired of being the chhotey and wants to be the elder for a change and she's tired of acting all adult when she really needs to be a kid with no thought of anything serious sometimes, i will not psychoanalyse, but somehow 18 and 26 worked for me) . both kids really. my husband was 26 when we married, me 25, a couple of years ago he said he was but a kid when he married, i of course wanted to scream at him. then i thought, it's true, 25/26, not really grown up.

his way of saying khushi and the moment. that's all i really wanted to say. but then i went on and on. thanks for getting the story, and i adore that alaap comparison you make. alaap if i am not wrong has all the elements of the raga in it but without formal structure, yes? an intro as it were. so yes
his "khushi" is that. if your ears and heat are keen enough, you'll hear it clearly.

very blockbuster some of the key scenes. this one, diwali, both by the poolside and in the car, in recent days.

oh the hotness of the man as he walked up the stairs. i could die happy.
