Barun sobti
The man who enacted the character of Asr to perfection.. Has the potential in him to make a name for himself in Bollywood oly if all things fall in right place.. I though wish he had given an statement he had quit the show when the rumour were doing the rounds however the concerned persons ph and sp too didn't come up with an official statement during the fiasco, they have to take the blame equally when it comes to an official statement!!
However as an individual he stands in his right to make a personal decision regarding his future.. Hope he succeeds in whatever he embraces in his life..

Sanaya Irani

She is a good actress, established a name for herself through khushi, not that she wasn't before, the character khushi took her to one step ahead..definitely the top female Indian tv star at the moment.
However I find her too loud for an public figure, I wish she sticks to her own business, people don't pounce on me have got my reasons

You don't have to talk about your colleagues contract period, when the concerned member(Barun,ph and sp) haven't given an official statement about it. You giving an statement to the media when its in no way your duty to do..
When the show closure controversy was at its peak, not a right thing to do

Once again talking about ipk in full view of public, that ipk2 will happen only without Barun was way out of line, it wasn't your duty to do, if there's anyone who comes with an official statement regarding season2 cast it is the production house.. When none of the concerned person are talking about it , while you went ahead and stated so, didn't do any good to better the situation.

To be honest it was too early for any statement regarding ipk2!!!


I wish her success in both her professional and personal life..

I accidently stumbled upon ipkknd during ads...
Nd i was mesmerised by the concept nd was blown by acting of all the casts...
Every character was aptly casted nd i loved everyones actin...
Barun sobti was ; is nd will be only person whom i admire as a human being nd also as an actor ;
Sanaya did an excellent job as khushi...m not a fan of her neither do i hate her...
PH certainly lost my repect towards them by the way they handld the quittin fiasco as well as story line...
Lastly..i cant watch any othrr shows as nothin seems to be watchable after ipk...
Hoping one day whole team wud come back minus PH

I saw IPK by chance while changing channels...and Barun Sobtis acting had me hooked. I didnt know who he was and was shocked that we had such a talented actor on TV.

I knew Sanaya having watched MJHT briefly and wasnt very impressed by her at the start...she was very shrieky...but then she grew into the role and was fabulous till after the hate marriage.

The show was wonderful till March, and steadily went downhill after that. The writing was pathetic. I was dissapointed coz Barun didnt have to do anything other than react to Khushis crap comedy. I couldnt understand why there was only 1 minute of Khushi thinking that Shyam may have been the reason, and then no further thoughts on it.

The kidnapping track was terrible becoz they chose to focus everything on Khushi and made Aakash, Di, Payal and everyone else redundant.

I had no issues with Barun going for MAMR since I felt everyone would want to do something they wanted out of life.In fact I was surprised that he shot for the show and the film. There were talks at that time that Sanaya would be doing Jhalak till she was warned by SP. I was ok with that too, since it was something she wanted to do.

After that the writing swung violently between good and pathetic.

After the re-marraige the writing stuck to the truly pathetic category. Sanayas acting became a bit unbearable for me to watch. She was shrieking her way through the show, and I even changed channels when she was around. No one esle in the show was even there. I would wonder why Daljeet dressed up to sit on the sofa and drink tea.

I stuck with the show because I found Baruns solo parts and his scenes with Sanaya bearable. Sanaya is capble to doing well at comedy which was well showcased during the Nainital track and the pre-hate marriage tracks. Either she wasnt guided well or the director lost interest and let her do what she wanted, becoz the acting was truly bad. I had only one issue with Barun and that was the fact that he wouldnt cut his hair. I was also concerned that he was losing weight rapidly.

Meanwhile this forum became a kind of dirty warzone, and amidst a totally unprofessional handling of the quitting issue by the PH and the channel the show ended.

But IPK was unique since brought together fans of all ages. I havent seen any show with fans with ages ranging from early teens ( 13-14!!!) to their 50s!!!!!!.

It was also unique in that the makers lost complete interest in the show and left it to fans to petition for everything from story changes to changes in directors!!!!

But it gave a magical on screen couple who just had to be together on screen to make the scene work.

But for me it was the best show coz it introduced me to an actor called Barun Sobti who is truly talented and whose work I will always be interested to see in the future

Exactly my feelings. IPK was unique and I had no issues with Barun doing MAMR. He in all fair chance wanted to quit - Would it have been an wise decision that is something for fate to decide. But it is a truth that the PH was horrible in handling the shooting for the show. They had only one room and even actors like Abhaji lamented on the lack of professionalism and the way the crew scheduled the shoots. Had the PH been little supportive and canned Barun's scenes way ahead then maybe Barun wouldn't have been this burnt out. Just as an example - Vivian was out for 3 weeks in jan for his marriage and 2+ weeks now for Honeymoon but there were/are hardly any body doubles in MB and this shows that the PH had already canned his scenes for 2+ weeks in advance. I never saw 4Lions do that and it was as if the story was changed overnight so many times. And in the end the creatives never gave good solid parallel stories and made the focus solely on Barun-Sanaya and I don't even want to talk about the pathetic costumes that were given out for BS/SI.

And the very irresponsible and unprofessional way in which this PH had handled the end is something I can never forget. Leaking news to a 3rd party when the actor himself was under contract was so not needed and the blame game is something which I absolutely hated - I am off any projects that 4Lions is doing or will do in future until and unless they know how to deal with things/actors in professional terms. And with Krittika quitting kuch toh and the way that has been handled by the PH and channel, need I say how much I rue the fact that we didn't have a good PH producing this show. Don't get me wrong - gul may have gotten the idea and the concept(it was the same concept she used in Geet so can't say how far the creativity helped in this show) but it was the awesome portrayal of BS/SI and other cast that made this show iconic. So my kudos and my hats off lies more with the crew than the creator and so I am there to support Barun/Sanaya in their new roles but yes it will be a long time before I forget the behavior of 4Lions and give them another chance. They have lost me as a fan for a long time.

What did IPK mean to me?

I was never a person to watch one show fully. I get bored so easily. I don't know if the show goes in a wrong direction or it is my interest which fades. I had started watching IPK from the beginning. But then I had to stay away from TV due to academic reasons. Once again I started watching from May catching up on all the episodes. Whatever the crap they showed on screen, I did watch without even missing a minute. Couldn't stay away from the awesome chemistry of the leads.

How did I find IF?

Googled ipkknd out of curiosity and found a site which had daily WU's. Found out after some time that word to word is copied from IF. So I stuck to IF after that. Now I am here only to read FF's on Arshi.

Did you even like IPK?

Yeah I did.

Barun Sobti?

Have seen him in DMG and BHPH as well. Was so surprised and impressed that he could pull of ASR so convincingly. Fell in love with the character ASR. Off screen he comes across as a humble and happy go lucky kind in the interviews and all. That's all I know about him. Oh yeah, he is hot too!

Sanaya Irani?

Had not really followed her earlier roles. I am not that fond of her. But Khushi was a crazy character and she did well. But want her coming shows to succeed nonetheless!

Whatever it is, didn't expect the show to end so soon. Every member of the cast worked hard for this show. Some were vocal about their hard- work while some were not. But all their efforts could be seen on screen though.

All the best wishes to Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani for their future projects!

i dont really remember when or how i found this site.i remember that at the beginning i only used 2 come here 4 the spoilers.then i started reading other posts gradually.i was a silent reader 4 a long time.i'm not sure why i opened an account here...maybe cuz i was missing IPK.
saw him 4 the first time in IPK...my sister thought that he was handsome...at a stage i thought that too..now i realize i had a crush on ASR...not barun...
yes...i used 2 like barun..but not anymore...
i do not want 2 offense any1 but from my point of view she is the one who gave IPK her 100% till the end.she is a wonderful actress...i will always love her.

Barun has ALWAYS credited the writers and the team for the success of ASR's character. He has always said the script is the king and it was a very well written role. There was just one interview shortly after the ending where he says he does not want to talk about IPK and frankly i do not blame him. He faced the negativity and the wrath of some despite giving the required notice and doing a brilliant job as ASR.
For those who think he was lying have you ever considered the possibility that he said "longish break" so that people would continue watching hoping he comes back. Maybe if the show did not close that abruptly maybe he could have come back for the last few episodes if needed, who knows. Many stopped watching during the kidnapping track and those that were Sanaya fans included just talked about a Sobti sighting and were waiting for ARHI to re-unite. So while Sanaya did a fantastic job in Barun's absence the fact that he made periodic appearances and we knew he was coming back encouraged many to keep watching despite the dragging and the terrible Shyam-Khushi scenes at that time.

Plus Zee_News herself said that Barun could not talk about it as he was under contract. He did leave to take a break since his second movie shooting has not even begun yet. He gave the PH 8 months notice, many shows have a life of that period. Don't you think better planning by the PH would help give the show and the audience better closure?

Anyways i have noticed Barun fans always credit Sanaya for her performance as Khushi while most Sanaya fans chose to mock Barun. As a Sarun and ARHI fan that hurts me because the magic of ARHI was largely because of SARUN as a team.

@meena:- Hugs yaar. Agree 100% on the bold part. When Barun was in contract there was no way he could have said I am quitting. I still fault Gul for leaking out the notice part when the actor was forced not to tell anything about it. And frankly after Barun came back - how much of a story was left really? Only the truth, redemption, remarriage and past and the PH comes back and tells that they couldn't finish the story off in the 5 months they had on hand after Barun came back. What was the need for Dadi track/miscarriage track/Sheetal track/Mrs.India track. Had the PH chosen it then they could have given this serial a proper decent ending and in the end they completely washed off the blame on Barun. A better planning would have taken this serial off on a high but the creatives and PH lost complete interest and there are no 2 ways about it and also the PH was highly unprofessional in the whole closing of the show fiasco.

And for me too I am a fan of ArHi because of the awesome portrayal of Barun and Sanaya and it really hurts to see mocking comments on Barun when that guy did all he could do and had to go out because he was nearing his breaking point. Only one thing I wish for is both Barun and Sanaya never come in any PH that is this unprofessional.
