episode 43

Kushi reaches out to talk to her sister, hesitantly she speaks, it seems she wants to tell her sister something from deep in her heart but as Payal turns Kurshi she asks her what is it and Kushi stops. I wonder if Kushi was going to say something to her about her confused feelings for her demon or if her question was for real. She asks her sister about food. FOOD! That is our Kushi or is it our writers playing games with our head?

I too really wonder if our girl wanted to talk about her shaitan ! Are we thinking too much or did the writers wanted us to expect and then get a suprise by her question ? really by the look on her face, I too thought, just as payal said " desh ka koi samasya ho".

Payal tells Kushi that she had already met Akash in the marketplace and thought he was just a simple guy. Kushi answers with he is good. He is the one who drove her home in the rain and he is the one who gave me the dupatta for you. Payal answers," Oh really?" Her question, just maybe showing a glimmer of hope and excitement, that he is the one who sent it to her.I think maybe she was feeling some butterflies in the pit of her stomach.

the beginning of a cute romance between two sober cute couple.. akash and payal. The writers did right in introducing two different love couples here. But lost it in the mid way and abandoned/disowned one love story !! don't understand why !

Payal asked who the girl in the transparent saree was and she must have been with Arnav since she saw him breaking her fast but she says he seemed upset. Kushi answers he is always upset and that was Lavanya the girl who calls her Chamkilli. She pictures ASR and the events of Teej. They go off to bed and Kushi tells her sister she did it now because she can't sleep she can't seem to get this demon out of her head!

poor khushi ! naive indeed. shaitan in her head..shaitan who held her while falling, broke her fast .

Oh yes, Nani, he spoils everyone and everything! Shyam has come home!

In the Raizada household Arnav is asking about breakfast and finds everyone in the kitchen laughing and preparing. Shyam insists that the women of the house will not do anything and asks Arnav to make sure of that. Arnav is happy to see his Di smiling.

This episode showed us how much shyam is cherished at RM. Everyone including our ASR respects and trusts him. And how sweetly shyam manages to do that. At buaji house as well as here. buaji is fully in "love" with him :)

ASR says to Shyam as long as you haven't been transferred to Delhi Anjali should stay here with us. Shyam says, 'it doesn't matter who we live with or where we stay as long as I comes home to her.' Everyone seems happy with the decision and they continue to chat

Shyamji's pbm got solved all by itself. He would have had lot of trouble if anjali shifted with him to another house.

Shyam has come home , yes, but with secrets.
yes, back with secrets and devious plans !

episode 44

Is someone thinking about you? Mami thinks it is Ms. Kashyup. This starts a small battle of words between Nani and Arnav. Nani says she can think all she wants but he isn't going to think about her! ASR jumps up and angrily answers, "Nani do we have to do this now? Everyone is here, my jiju just came home but you insist by being stubborn to repeatedly talk about it. Can't you forget it for a few days?" Nani answers no because he will continue to be with her. Shyam asks Arnav to sit down. Arnav turns to him and says he can't stay there and walks away as Anjali is begging him to have breakfast. Shyam asks what has happened since he has been gone and Mami starts the "flashback". The battle has begun!

The battle has begun indeed. anjali-shyam-khushi-ASR foursome

Payal says to go to yhe Raizada house first after all she knows them and they can make money there! Kushi jumps up and scolds her sister saying that she always reminds her of that demon. Doesn't she want her to be happy or she wants her to worry and make jalebi. Payal reminds her that the stores of food are low in the house. Kushi will battle her thoughts of that Rakshas!

Thank you payalji. Always the mature of the two.. gives a practical look into the situation.

He should look at it from another point of view. It is his and Lavanya's life and if he doesn't want to get married then don't.
He tells him to think about it. What would happen if he left the house? Just a little while ago he said it was nice to have breakfast with the family and he agreed to wear the sacred thread. Why? Because it is a relationship and being part of a family and without that one is empty.
Shyam answers because she is Nani and has different thoughts. We can not simply change her mind because you have grown up. Chote feels like she is choking him and he wants to live his life his own way.

How sane and sensible this guy sounds ! whatever he uttered is absolutely wisdom. Incredible that the writers made a villian be so articulate in words ! Shyam is one smooth talker. His insights and wisdom are what appealed to buaji and naniji. No one in thier right mind would have thought this honey tongued man is a venom spewing serpent in reality.

Nani finally says I don't agree but I trust in you! Big mistake. You have just lost the battle or has she?
The immense trust the entire RM members have on Shyam is the strongest trumpcard that shyam has in him favour. Bad for RM, good for shyam. how easily he made naniji agree to let la into the house !!

Kushi is pacing back and forth confiding in her best friend DM. She tells her there is not a single moment that I don't worry; that demon is always on my mind. Why does this happen? Why does she feel that something has been left unsaid between them? She feels as if she has forgotten something. The battle in her head has begun and it would just end if she climbed over the hill and would surrender to her love. She continues to say she feel the same as when she forgot her lunch at home. The whole day she thought about it. She compares her feeling of loss to forgotten food. She LOVES food a lot! She then realizes she has forgotten her DM statue at the office. OMG!!! She must go get her. She is entering the battle.

Loved your comparsion .. khushi feels as if she forgot something like the time she forgot lunch. that is .. lunch = shaitan .. khushi loves food..implies.. khushi loves shaitan !!

ASR calls Lavanya and tells her to pack her bags he will send a car tomorrow to pick her up and bring her to the RM. She is so excited jumping up and down! "Are you serious? Me in your house? What do I do and not do? What do I wear or not wear?" Arnav tells her he doesn't have to change and to stay as she is. She thinks that it's so sweet he has said this to her and asks him,"You love me as I am?"

See.. this is what I like in ASR.. never expects la to make changes to impress nani. He didn't want khushi to change too later. Each one thier own identity and if one is comfortable in that, they needn't alter for the sake of others. Like his funda :))
But la, you ask does he love you as u are.. he might be liking you but dear, his love has already entered his life but it is not you :)

The strategies for all have been planned and now are to be executed. The battlefield has been readied and all are suited up with as much ammunition as possible.

I like the way you write the story with reference to a battle ..different soldiers fighting a battle for different reasons.

he walks by her desk, then stops and turns. there sits her devi maiyaa. he has just told lavanya, with whom he has a relationship, that she's moving into his home. yet. there he stands, as if unable to walk away. looking at an empty desk. he remembers her holding out her resignation letter to him, that day, when she came home to tell him she was worth more than his wagers, and he was the wrong kind of guy who sent people to dangerous places without caring for their well being. they had not spoken since then. no one ever spoke to him like that and got away with it.

yet.

there he stands.

and in his mind's eye, she's turning back at the door, a last lingering look, some unknown pain there, none of the screaming, she walks out the door.

no wonder to lavanya he says, "haanh.. tum jaisi ho mujhe waisi pasand ho." he does like her exactly the way she is. without any real power over him. she can't make him do things he can't fathom. or transfix his mind, his precious dimaag. or confound his feelings. no, la doesn't have that power, and asr likes things that way in a relationship. cool, easy, with respect for both people, but no undeniable need. no overwhelming emotion that surpasses all. that wouldn't do. he needs to be in control. and with lavanya, he is. yes, the way you are, that's the way i like you.

of course, he doesn't hear the feeling in la's "i love you, asr." his mind is not on her at all. when he realises later, he will regret his self oriented approach, but right now, he is juts thinking of survival.

he looks away, and then again turns to see her desk. a second time. thoughts roam his eyes. a struggle is evident. he begins to walk away, but turns again, this time with decision. "ek minute... iss table pe jo saman hai woh hatwa do or jiska hai usske ghar bhijwa do." the peon is commanded to remove signs of her from his office. if only such things worked.


at the breakfast table, he'd hiccuped three times. and di had said
"tumhe koi bahut zore se yaad kar raha hai," who could be remembering him so much? miss kassyap as mamiji suggested, setting off a storm of words about his relationship?

or was it the girl pacing in her room, wondering why she couldn't stop thinking about that rakshas, that arnav singh raizada. just like di who kept unwittingly reminding him of khushi, so did payal bring up his name all the time, completely throwing khushi off balance. "tum ghuma phirakar har baat uss rakshas tak kyon le jaate ho... tumhe hum khush achhe nahi lagte..." i don't want to think about him at all. and change the topic or i'll start making jalebis again.

but is it payal's fault really? doesn't khushi think of him "baar baar" anyway? today she wonders why this is happening, a feeling that something has been left behind... what? and she remembers... of course, devi maiyaa.

her struggle before the door of ar. a classic moment of conflict. her thoughts are in turmoil. there is no earthly reason she should constantly think of the man, yet she does. an exact reflection of asr's state of mind.

both losing control.

she stands there, tense. music mirrors her quandary and extreme unease. some funny feelings mix in. she remember things. nasty things that he'd done. her dupatta ripped, her hand left suddenly as she fell, a skimpy dress thrown at her with a brutal, "go change." these seemed to help her get courage, get her anger going, and she pushed the door with resolve. but there went her alarm bells again, and panic returned. the darti hai par karti hai girl gingerly walked in.

then a brilliant last line delivery by sanaya. "ghabra mat khushi, office mein koi nahin hai... aaj toh ravivar hai..." voice sweet, innocent, khushi calming khushi, then a mercurial change of expression at his thought, "... aur woh laad governor toh bilkul nahin!" lovely.

an aside
no idea why, but this episode brought to mind one of my favourite scenes between the two. cliff top. it was in scenes like this that those emotions were taking root, growing, ambushing resistance, and slowly capturing the heart. i'd written about the precap in a crooner at the time, leaving some lines from it here.

"this has never happened to me before. i sat there transfixed, through the quickly ticking minutes, almost not daring to breathe. as the ride ended on the silhouette stilled against the setting sun, i was about to let go and say wow, when the precap (what happened to good old trailer) came on.

he was talking urgently to the unconscious khushi, "khushi, talk to me dammit... this is not FUNNY!" as his voice wobbled dangerously as though he were on a precipice about to plunge, i felt something give way inside me. i put my head in my hands and felt a sob rising within. i had to actually sit still for a few minutes to recover.

i felt something had reached deep within me, a place we keep carefully hidden from the world, and touched raw emotion. can't tell you what that did to me. most of all it told me, i am still alive. zinda hoon mein."
