Thank you Tia for this idea.
The love guru is back, but this time to visit Sheetal.
Knock knock. Door opened and Sheetal appeared.
I jumped into the room and bolted the door behind me.
She looked confused. "Who are you? What do you want?"
"Not one word from you, understood?" I said through clenched teeth. "Why are you here? Who is that kid? Why is he behaving like Arnav?"
She folded her arms. "I have no idea what you are talking about."
I asked mockingly, "Oh really, so you are saying that a 5 year old insists on wearing suits, applying gel to his hair and reading a business paper .. all on his own? Give me a break!" I scoffed.
"Fine." Sheetal screamed. "Yes, I trained him. But why does it matter? He is Arnav's kid." She paused and raised her eyebrows. "But who are you? How do you know .."
"I am Khushi and Arnav's friend .. that's all you need to know now." I said again through clenched teeth, taking a few threatening steps closer, my hands curled into fists. "So what's your plan? Why are you here?"
Sheetal smiled. "To get Arnav back. I loved him. He loved me. But he didn't want to get married back then. When I found out that I was pregnant, I didn't want to tell him, because I thought he would want me to abort the baby. But.. but I couldn't." Her eyes filled with tears, as she said her eyes facing the wall, her mind far away. She looked at me, her face serious. "Few days ago, I heard he got married recently. How could he? How could he forget the moments we spent together?"
I scoffed. "Well last I heard, you meant nothing to him."
Sheetal's eyes opened wide. "Really? Is that why he looked at me softly yesterday and even asked his wife not to feed me salad. I don't think he loves her either.. have you seen the way he treats her. I am sure he was forced to marry her. I am sure his Di and Nani forced him to marry her. Why else would he marry such a low-class, cheap girl?"
My face was furious as I screamed. "Mind your words. And the girl you call low-class is married to one of the richest businessmen in India." Then a smile appeared on my face as I added. "And you are wrong, she wasn't his Di and Nani's choice. He married her, and twice."
The shock was evident on her face.
I continued, "Ok. Say you succeed in breaking them up. But are you sure you want to be married to him?"
Sheetal looked confused. "What do you mean? I love him.. I.."
I giggled as I continued. "Well dear, this Arnav is not the Arnav you knew five years back. Khushi was a virgin, that's why she doesn't realize it. But his smouldering sex drive is as good as dead." Sheetal gasped. I continued, "In fact he puts a pillow in the middle of the bed when he sleeps with his wife." I asked, nonchalantly, "Are you sure you want to die without getting any for the rest of your life?"
Sheetal started to say something but I continued, "Or do you want to take care of his crazy family? You saw how insensitive they were. They told you that your child was exactly what Arnav's child would be like, that too in front of his wife."
Sheetal folded her arms. "I can take care of that. Arnav and I can move out and.."
I laughed. "Move out? Nope, that's not going to happen. Because your job as Arnav's wife is to be a Di-sitter. And mind you, she might be harder to handle than your little one. She must be in her mid-30s and yet she still throws tantrums all the time. Everyone lets her because she is the queen of the family."
Sheetal gasped. Her eyes opened wide as she exclaimed, "OMG.. what are you.."
"ASR can never be with the woman he commits to. Before Khushi it was La. When he was in a live-in relationship with her, he used to be insensitive to her feelings and always used to stare at Khushi. Now he is married to Khushi and never looks at her. If he married you, then he will look at another woman. If you are okay with it, then go ahead and marry him. He will be back to his intense passionate self with Khushi and you will be a married maid to his family."
Sheetal gulped.
"Honestly, Shit-al, I mean Sheetal, Khushi is the only one who can handle all this without going nuts. Well, then again, all this is already taking a toll on her. I think she is already losing it. I mean who wouldn't." I rolled my eyes.
Sheetal turned around and hurried towards a door at the back of the room.
I raised my eyebrows as I added. "Where are you off to?"
She stopped and turned around, and said, "I am packing my bag and leaving."
I asked, mockingly, "Why? You don't want to marry him anymore? Wait, it actually gets better."
The horrified look on her face was unmistakable. "There's more? I don't want to hear it. I am out of here." She walked away and I giggled.
She stopped at the door and turned around to look at me. "Give Khushi a hug from me and tell her I will call all his other ex-girlfriends and tell them that the ASR they knew is dead, and with him, his libido. Good bye." I nodded. She turned around, walked into the room and closed the door after her.
I smirked.
