I am taking a wild guess here I am sure this can't be right but could this have happened to Shaym's sister. Malik senior probably gifted a payal to Shyam's sister when he had her living in Sesh mahal. I guess he must have also scattered glass pieces on the carpet hoping to hurt her so she would lose the babies if she had a fall or something. He had gloves on so there is no evidence. May be Shyam wants Anjali to go through what his sister went through all those years ago. He want's ASR to hurt like he did.
