"It's only after you've lost everything," Tyler says, "that you're free to do anything." ~Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club, Chapter 8
Today's episode left me wanting for more. It was a good episode. I enjoyed it.
Dadi and Arnav had another face-off. Arnav wants to move on. He wants to experience the peace and happiness that he has been denied for so long. He wants to smile and express himself to the woman he loves. He wants to free himself from the restrictions he has placed on himself.
But he has yet to let go. He is holding on to the past and wants to deny its existence. His denial is the type that goes: speak not, remember not, feel not. He isn't over it yet and till he is, the past will not stop chasing him. This time around, he is completely justified in his course of action. But he doesn't know about the past in its gory details. He knows the outline and not the details.
Dadi is the opposite. She knows about the past and not the present. But she is justified in neither circumstances. She claims to want to what's right. But can we ever be certain about what's right? For instance lying is a sin. But if you lie to save someone innocent, are you still justified? It is something we can never be sure about. Take IPK characters for example.
Arnav married to save Anjali. To protect Anjali and her child. But he hurt Khushi. So is he justified?
Khushi hid the truth from everyone. She did it to protect everyone from pain. But her actions could have led to Anjali's death on multiple occasions. So is she justified?
Anjali is meeting Shyam behind everyone's backs. She is being lied to. So is she justified?
The point I am trying to make is the you cannot justify certain actions no matter how pure and just your intentions maybe. And it is the same for Dadi and Garima. Dadi refused to shed her ego and it will cost her big.
Today, Garima backed down. She backed because of and for Arnav. She couldn't bear to see him in pain. She knew that she couldn't hurt anyone any further. She now knows about Shyam's unveiling. So she knows what everyone is going through. Today is proof that Khushi's self-deprecating and self-sacrificing nature comes from Garima. She thought about everyone. But she thought about Arnav the most. That is what my gut tells me and I think Arnav is lucky to Garima loves him so.
Garima knows her not telling the truth can break off Khushi's wedding and Payal's marriage. But she thought about Arnav first. She loves him like her own and Arnav needs that love in his life. Specially with the storm brewing, Arnav needs all the love, support and care he can get!
Nani is also one of the figures directly in the middle of everything. As a mediator at the very least. She is amongst those who thinks things through rationally and looks at the entire picture. She knows her Chotte and her Khushi. She adores and loves them both. She knows they are good human beings with pure souls. Will she stand by and let her family wither away because of a deranged old hag? Hell no! She will fight.
Then we have Haramzadey. Yaar abb tera kya kare? I give him points for trying and trying and trying. But his attempts are getting more pathetic with every move he makes. The only successful move he made was nearly killing Shashiji. But other than they've ALL failed miserably. I await for the day you slip in front of your Rani Sahiba. Then you'll know the true meaning of why she's the Rani Sahiba and why you're NOT the Raja.
And finally, Arnav and Khushi. They just looked so happy together. They were absolutely glowing. The thing that I noticed was that whenever Arnav is with Khushi, he just forgets every bad thing that has ever happened to him. He smiles, he laughs, he fools around and he makes Khushi do the same. He loves with all his heart and he makes Khushi do the same.
A thing that I noticed was Nani letting the "boys" crash an all-female party. It is her house and she is letting her grandsons do as they please. This is a direct slap-in-the-face situation for Dadi. I loved Nani. It is her house, her rules and her wishes.
NK's prediction about "dhaar" seems to be coming through. I wonder... I think it will probably be Khushi who'll end up getting hurt as always. But I think it would be a good thing because Arnav will blow a fuse and will carry her around (hopefully). He will tighten security and will demand that Khushi be in his immediate vicinity. This is an excellent opportunity for the CVs to shift the focus back on the leads. If they use it...
Now something that I thought about after asking Sathu a few questions about Brahma Kamal. From what I read about it from everyone else's posts and directly quoting Sathu, "it is an elusive flower" and it blooms once every 14 years.
For 14 years, the Raizadas have been in a state of frozen time. They haven't been able to move beyond their pain. They've been longing to experience happiness and peace. But to do that, they have to let go of their pain. They have let the grudges go and accept that whatever had happened, happened. They do not acknowledge it. They've tried to sweep in under their rug. But doing that didn't make their problems go away.
The situation is worse this time around because Anjali and Arnav are being punished for their father, uncle and grandmother's crime. They are being tried for no fault of theirs and are being tested. So far, I think Arnav and Anjali are on an equal footing. Hold your stilettos and hear me out.
In February, Arnav fell in Shyam's trap. He was hoodwinked and in the process he set up a bomb which blew everyone away. And in the process, Khushi and Anjali were impacted the most. Both experienced a huge divide in the relationship they shared with Arnav. And then slowly, Arnav started to mellow before it all went out the drain when Khushi tried to kill herself. That was the changing point in their relationship, not the airport one. The airport was important and Pandora's Box was opened when Khushi leapt into Fate's arms.
She unleashed Arnav's fears once more. She was WILLINGLY going to join his mother in a place where he would never see them again. And he couldn't take it. He stopped her in the nick of time and he held on to her as tight as he possibly could. He didn't let go of her even as she struggled. And then he told her the truth HE WAS GIVEN and he broke her heart.
He told her the truth because he'd rather see her ALIVE AND IN TEARS. Not dead. He loved her too much. That is also the reason why he married her. He knew what marriage meant to her and he knew it was the ONLY was HE could have her. In his mind, she loved Shyam. So the only way he could punish her was by tying her to him. He married her to punish her for breaking his heart.
Then he realised he was wrong and that she loved him no matter what. She risked her life for him and so much so that he had to knock her out to keep her safe. And then he nearly run her over and she fell of a cliff. Her heart stopped beating. He realised nothing mattered more than her. And thus his misunderstanding is over.
Arnav was tricked and he hurt Khushi knowingly.
Now why Anjali and Arnav are on equal footing.
Anjali is being tricked by Shyam. Yes, she should have thought things through and ASKED Arnav why he did what he did. But isn't she doing EXACTLY what Arnav did?
This time around, the situation is the same only the players are different.
Anjali is playing the role Arnav did in February.
Shyam is still the same.
Dadi is playing Anjali's role (how she tried to fix the wrong problem.)
Interestingly, Arnav and Khushi have merged into Khushi's role.
Let me elaborate. Khushi didn't even know what hit her. She tried to cope and she brought the family back together. When she found out, she tried to fix everything. But initially, she detached herself from Arnav. It is only after she found the missing piece did she go after him relentlessly.
So Arnav and Khushi will be hit with Anjali's actions. They will be implicated because of her actions and they will be the ones to pick up the pieces and put them back together. But in the process, Arnav will detach himself from Anjali.
Dadi (playing Anjali's role) will try to solve the wrong issues. And when Arnav and Khushi find out what's really going on with Anjali, they will chase her down and give her the bitter pill, but they will make sure that she takes it. And when it all blows up, Dadi will be hit the most, just like Anjali was when Shyam was accused.
Arnav and Khushi both lost their identities when they lost their parents. They lost everything. Now after 14 years, they've finally found someone to hold on to, someone to rely on. They've experienced happiness and peace. They can't wait to begin their lives anew.
But they can't. They will go through everything they did 14 years ago because they were not given the entire truth back then. They were innocent and they suffered the most. This war is happening because they are going to set things right. They are going to right the wrongs and bring out every single skeleton in the closet. And in the process they are going to hunt down everyone who's remotely involved and will bring everything out in the open. It is only after the war's over, will they finally get that elusive happiness.
Arnav and Khushi are going to fight to the death. But everything will change once Anjali enters the battlefield. It all rests on Anjali's ability to cope with the truth and whether she can emerge stronger.
You can take the horse to the water, but you can't make it drink the water. It is the same with Anjali. Until she accepts everything, they will all be going around in circles.
But she will side with her brother, for no other reason save for the fact that he and Khushi are right, honest and just. She loves Arnav and that is enough reason for her.
Arnav and Khushi won't be able to stop the war from happening, but they will definitely influence the proceedings once it has begun. They are going to fight. And they are not alone.
Now for things totally unrelated.
Payal is rising in Arnav's eyes. He trusts her to look after Anjali and trusts her blindly as far as Khushi is concerned. Payal is someone to look out for. Arnav and Payal have always had a stable bond. There is mutual respect and understanding. And that is very important. Because if need be, Payal can mince her words and make Arnav listen to things he may not want to listen to. She has done it before, and she can do it again.
Payal and Mami are bonding. This will come in handy in the future.
Akash's statement of "Everyone loves Bhai" is completely and utterly true. Everyone does love Bitwa and there is reason why. BTW, am loving Akash these days. Always did love him, but don't do the illogical-angry-young-man again. Akash is the lovable, kind, understanding dude.
NK Babua, you are epic! ๐๐ผ
This was my take on everything. I may very well be wrong. ๐ Anyways, loved the episode ๐ My favourite was Akash and NK. I loved how they were gleefully roaming around Shantivan. ๐
But I will quote my mother today, for once. She said: "Buritar paye kaanch gaithe poire morto", i.e. If only the old hag dropped dead by cutting herself ๐คฃ (She hates Dadi). And she was scandalised after seeing Sanaya baring most of her upper body. ๐คฃ She muttering stuff under her breath which made me laugh ๐คฃ. Watching IPK with my mother is a fun experience. ๐คฃ Oh, and she also said: "Anjali-ki pregnant na pagol? Orr arokum bhuter moto chehara kore boshe thake keno? Pregnant toh amio chilam, tin baar. Arokom toh kokhono kori nai", i.e. Is Anjali pregnant or mental? Why does have such a retarded expression on her face? I was pregnant thrice. I've never been like that." Oh.. mother I love you ๐คฃ
Love
