So after watching a disastrous "first date" I've been sulking around all day. Haven't things been depressing off late? Sometimes I think I'll stop watching the series altogether but then I see a new promo or a spoiler news and like a fish-to-a-bait I come back. Just some things that aren't really working for me

1. Sense of humor? Go went gone...
I remember watching Khushi puncture ASR's car, put juice in his shoes, turn off the water whilst he was bathing and many more to my heart's content. Khushi was synonymous with crazy, hillarious but not downright stupid. Umm, there seems to be a meteoric shift in the sense of humor of the CVs. "jokes" don't get us cracking anymore. Do you remember Khushi shifting the trunk on their SR epi? I'm still thinking how was that supposed to be funny. Or well more recently, her antics on the date. Don't bash me up, we all know it is true.

2. Kahani mein kahani, kahani mein kahani.
I've seen so many people on IF reminiscing about Lalit Mohan's days as director when the simple story line endeared us all to Arshi's budding romance. Even Shyam's appearances were well timed (Khushi's engagement to Shyam and then breaking it up) and things had a logical flow. Messing around with the main storyline is never a good idea. Sidelines are good because the other characters also vie for screen time but they are good as long as they get wrapped up properly. Currently there are so many side tracks going on that it is hard to keep track if this is Didi-ki-saut story or Dadi-Garima faceoff or Arshi's romance that is the main point of the series. Side tracks overpowering the main storyline is probably the worst mistake story-writers can make.

3. Memory loss?
With the changes in the Creative team (dunno what kind of creativity we are talking about here), they seem to be forgetting things. There are just too many lose ends that the writers never managed to tie up. Arnav's track of repentance, his following up of Shyam's motives for his abduction, the financial implications of the forged will documents amongst many other. Are CVs suffering from short term memory loss? Well the viewers do not!

4. Character assasination.
Fangirls absolutely adore Barun. Even if he doesn't bat an eyelid or even say a single line in an entire episode we'd still have posts proclaiming hotwa, deadwa, faintwa and what not. Please do not get me wrong, I love him too. But the problem starts when characters start getting hazy. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ASR's character; call it "having a thing for bad guys". Him changing for Khushi might be called his way of amending his past wrong doings but why butcher the ASR side of him? Where is the angry young man whom we all went ga-ga for. Why didn't his shrewdness or "shatir dimag" be more alert about the lecherous Shyam? Why does the devil-may-care side come up when dadiji rebuked khushi but not when mamiji has been doing so since the day Khushi entered RM?

5. You've lost that loving feeling!
Has anyone noticed the Rabba Ve's these past few months? Do you get a feeling of repeatedness? or that a Rabba Ve is being forced just to kill the time slot of few minutes? I don't feel goosebumps when I watch the recent ones, my heart doesn't get racing as it used to, my mouth doesn't spring open and go gasp, I don't feel electrified!!! is it just me?

6. People don't mature, but love does.
A friend once remarked to me why she doesn't like watching IPK (needless to say I bashed her up nice and proper that time), "the scenarios are too unrealistic to be true". When we fall in love with someone, there are facets to get to know each other, spend time with each other, get to know their likes and dislikes. We came to know Arnav's favourite restaurant is PO after a year?? He didn't know what kind of a bag Khushi prefers so he bought her an outrageously expensive one for her birthday? Does Khushi know what kind of music ASR listens to (or if he listens to music at all)? Where has Khushi studied? Why can't there be more revelations about each other and small storylines attached with it? After a year of Arshi's love, we would appreciate a maturer side of their love being shown.

I appreciate the Creative Team's efforts (what else can I do?) but they need to pull up their socks if they wish to recreate the charm.

Agree 100%

Just made a post about what types of scenes I expected from the first date.

If I start on my list, it will end up being a novel. I want ASR's attitude and Arshi's chemistry back!

I don't understand what is the rush all about? Isn't this supposed to be THE wedding we have all been waiting for? Even the decorations at RM seem drab and boring as compared to Payash wedding :(

I know! scenes haven't been making any sense to me these days. For example :

Asr enters mandir:
Khushi's dialogues do not make any sense to me. She said "I was sure that one day u will enter the mandir for me" Based on what ...the kabootar incident ? How does that relate to
a) Him entering a mandir
b) Him changing for YOU?

How does it make any sense? And if she was so sure, why is she so surprised that he is doing all this ? This is logically very unappealing !

Instead of this i would have liked a scene, where, ASR askes Khushi, why she still loves him even after all that he has done. She could have replied that it is because she can see through that tough facade a man who is completely nice at the core. And then she reveals the kabotar incident.

So true. It would have been so much better if portrayed in the way you mentioned. Subtlety is slowly disappearing from ipkknd, and logic, well less said the better.

There are many who share your view point. These kinds of discussion topics are abundant in the Forum, which goes to show the disappointment of the fans (not phangurls, who think anything that is not "OMG hotwa this and hotwa that..." is bashing.)
I got introduced to the show at Sangeet, (a re-run my friend was watching) I was blown away, so much so, that I spent a mega marathon long weekend watching ALL the epis from #1!!!!!! NON-STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But as I progressed, I noticed a difference in the show starting after the wedding and really, blatantly obvious as it went on. After the kidnapping fiasco, I even noticed the chemistry of the lead pair becoming lukewarm. I mean it's still there, but it's not heart thumping like it was before. Of late, even the story makes no sense.
It's just too bad that what was once a beautiful, different show has become a mediocre run of the mill TV serial. I feel really bad for the actors who have to endure this catastrophe. I feel especially bad for Sanaya Irani who is a phenomenal actress, and is bearing the brunt of all this shoddy behavior. (Wether it is through character assassination or being sidelined or not being applauded for her amazing performance! As someone so aptly put it, Barun could sit for a 20 min epi and not blink an eye and phangurls would...)
Sanaya Irani is the only reason that I now watch the show. Because no matter what junk they (CV's) throw at her, she rises to the occasion and gives it her 100%, to ensure the viewers are not duped - and that is the mark of a true professional. It's just too bad that I can only say, "Oh well, just a matter of time before I bid adieu."

Thank yaar. I would just be happy if they got ASR and Arshi back for me.

I have a feeling the didi ki saut track is back in a bid to make Daljeet stay in IPK.. if that does turn out to be the case, a lot of us will be bidding adieu 😭
