I totally agree with you about the TRP's.
The problem with the show is that they drag every track for so long that ppl stop caring what happens with the track. Regular audience wants a track to be closed before a new track opens up. If the track gets stretched like an elastic band, ppl lose interest and go to an other channel and watch another show. Many won't come back unless the other show really spoils their storyline and thus we lose audience and hence TRP's.
Also the shows which are our competition are really not Saas Bahu shows. I just started watching BV and have found it to be pretty progressive sometimes and the lead is really hot. I have not watched Mahadev but it seems to be a very lavishly mounted show with great production values and it has made Mythology hot and sexy. I think it is adapted from the book "Immortals of Meluha".
In the past 6 months our story has not moved while our competitive shows have had a divorce, a remarriage, an new hero for the heroine. In Mahadev, the Sati story has ended and Parvathy-Mahadev marriage has happened.
It is no use hurrying multiple tracks now in IPKKND like remarriage, past, Shyam's entry now, becoz our audience ain't coming back. They are happy with the other shows.

when the show fails to provide what they want to watch, they turn away looking for shows that cater to their tastes.
As I said, this post is trying to decipher the psyche of TRP audience. Not intended for people who would like to do character analysis and decoding. That's strictly for IF crowd who generally doesn't contribute to TRPs.

Wow!! If we could decode the psyche of the TRP audience, then we'd have acomplished wonders!! And it totally sucks that the life of a show depends on house wivies...what about working thinking women? Dont we deserve a descent watch?

Just out of curiosity i read the Written updates of the dhokla show, mature oldies love show, marriage musical chairs show, Desi Masterchef show, babies galore show, child bride show & many other such blah shows & i am actually shocked that with that miniscule non-existent story line they r higher than IPKKND.

I feel this show is way better than those kitchen politics & baby shower shows. But kya karen our mindset is diff frm that of the house wives who watch Indian soaps 😕

So my honest opinion is that IPKKND definitely deserves better TRPs.

May b coz it airs at 8 which is the most competitive time slot

I have to agree that still IPKKND is a better show to watch than all the others, and yes a TRP of 2.5 is less than par for a show like this, even after last week's episode!

But if the 8pm slot is a competetive one, then shouldn't the cvs try to do what the audience wants?
Whats the use of romancing when the male lead hasn't apologized?

They say actions speak louder than words, but can an audience really connect with it?

If you think about it, they are actually catering to the regular indian audience by incorporating Arnav's dadi. She's a typical strict type (bitchy imo) of character seen on every type of soap. The production house is trying to rope in the older viewers as they are quite strong in numbers. I'm sure they'll be gravitating towards this show now. After all, they love bitchy mother in laws.

LOL I dont know...the show never had that bitchy mother-in-law aura to it so this might actually back fire on them.
I still think, without tying up loose ends them trying to bring a sassuma-bahu angle or the past is a wrong move.
Arnav and Khushi's relationship has a lot of unexplored avenues. without closing on them, jumping on to the 'past' track was just wrong and a foolhardy decission in my opinion

Hiru, I am shamelessly copying what I posted on Annie's thread...

I agree Hiru.. they have swept the truth under the carpet for a very long time now..

There's a limit to blackmails, coercion and smirks... fans would now like to see remarriage, romance and retribution.. PH has been showing us 2 weeks of romance followed by 6 months of hatred.. this has been cyclic and monotonous.. so let's have a whirlwind wedding followed by honeymoon and romance and then Shyam could walk in to reak havoc.. I am all game for it...

We also would like to see poetic justice rather than the anti-hero and evilness winning over goodness.. as a starting point let's air the retribution track...IF ASR does not like anyone to lay a finger on Khushi he should also now put a stop to Phati sari comments.. I am sick and tired to see the Bahus of RM insulted this way... Don't anyone in that house have the guts to confront maami?

La,
Darling you said it...why is no one stopping that rainbow stop calling them phati sari and khoon bhari taang...or someone give her a name...rang ki dukan sounds good???or they can abbreviate it to DC...dumb cow...whatever goes...
I think people want romance and decent talks between leads...it reminds most of them of a story they never had...or if they did then reminiscing about it...well hopefully twat will get it otherwise he has another gate on his hand...

I feel what they are showing is too far fetched and doesn't click with the general audience. The PH is hell bent on trying not to show a cliched route (such as a teary eyed Arnav on a redemption track or crazed Arnav begging for Khushi's love). But sometimes that's what the TRP audience IS looking for.

what people expected to see.
1)Shyam's truth getting exposed.
2)Arnav realising Khushi was honest
3) Arnav feeling horrible for mistrusting Khushi and making her go thrugh a forced marriage
4) A dramatic self realisation of his mistakes and asking for an apology
5) contract marriage ending
6)Khushi leaving the house
7) Arnav realising he loves her maddly and wants her back
8) Arnav declares his love, goes to GH and try to woo her.
9) Re-marriage
10) A few blissful weeks of happy marriage
11) then past coming out.
This is what the TRP audience was looking for. Cliched I know, but people had been looking forward to seeing this above process for months (after the contract marriage). But the story never provided this. At the end of the day people want to see something they feel good about, not somehting that disappointes or fustrates them.
Us royal fans who are addicted to IF more than the show, still keeps on watching the show hopeing and preying for better days, but would the TRP audiece be that patient? No. The show is not catering for the TRP crowd's expectations.
*Strictly my opinion and not intended to ruffle anyone's feathers*

Great Post...👏
Very true Dear the creatives had chosen the wrong path.
They are paying for it with the "Dekhna he toh dekho" attitude
I am happy that the TRP audience are not droolers or fools to take this abuse in the name of love

I have no objections if they call their bahus phati sari as long as they also call ASR phati baniyan

I agree with you, but I have watched shows that had a topping 6 TRP (choti bahu season 1 to be precise) where the HUGE injustice happened to the female lead of the story didn't come out till few months before the send of the show but still garnered HUGE TRPs, becuase the stry line was consistent.

I rememebr cribing about the justice not not metting towards Radhika but still the audience clicked with all of it becaue the story was well executed with a wonderful bond between the leads.
I still say they can work with the material at hand if they can move the story on consistently directed path without changing tracks midway.

That makes sense! I hope the CV's read this thread. Oh! And Choti Bahu is a show i remember i used to watch once upon a time and dumped because of the horrible injustice they apparently capitalized on!
