@Mandy: Good point about HP --- I did wonder about that and figured that was a plot device to get us and maybe NK to take note of the locket and Shyam's RV with it!
@Meens: I figured Mami is being pulled back to keep her on Anj's side when Shyam's truth is out. But she has seen Khushi in action, so ultimately it ought to be enough to sway her.
